Receipt of the banners is 3 working days before the starting date of the campaign file 6 Miniclip Ad Spaces Technical Specifications Homepage Takeover A homepage takeover consists of a customized static wallpaper and a 300 x 250 advert. The static wallpaper can relate to (or interact with) the 300 x 250 unit. Takeovers offer an impactful roadblock of your brand on the Miniclip.com Homepage, Category pages and Game pages. Medium Rectangle: Please refer to 300x250 Medium Rectangle technical specifications above Static Wallpaper element: Important notes: File type: static image (Jpeg/Gif/Png) Maximum weight: 140k The takeover header (above the site layout) is always 136 pixels high. The body of the Miniclip site is 1010 pixels wide. Any content intended to be visible to the left or right of the site body should be included outside of this area. The free space right and left of the content space depends on user screen resolution. It is recommended that any important information, such as text or logo, is displayed in the header and not in the gutters. It’s important to remember that around 25% of miniclip’s users have a widescreen monitor of 1024 pixels or smaller. If we use an image more than 1200px wide for a homepage takeover, its edges and any information contained in them won’t be visible for a large section of the audience, and the campaign’s impact may be affected. Receipt of the banners is 3 working days before the starting date of the campaign file 7 Miniclip Ad Spaces Technical Specifications For example, this wide background image looks good on a large monitor... …but doesn’t make sense on more modest monitors. Please note that the whole 1600x2960 wallpaper space should be filled. Do not leave any blank space. The Miniclip content is displayed on 1010x2600. Around 75% of miniclip’s users do have widescreen monitors bigger than 1024 pixels. In order to ensure the takeover looks good for them as well it is recommended that the takeover skin is designed with a gradient on all sides. The last pixel should be the same color on all sides so that the HTML color can be set to match that color. BEST PRACTICE: Please supply the completed takeover file in JPEG format and also as a layered PSD within the template provided. This will allow us to make any minor changes quickly and easily where necessary. If this is not possible we are also happy to accept GIF or PNG files of the background image provided they are within the file size limits outlined above. Also please supply the relevant destination URL. This one can include a click tracker and must be an absolute URL Clickable Takeover: Only the takeover header is clickable. For the best performance we recommend placing a clear call-to-action. The clickable area size is 1010x100 pixels. The guide size is available in the takeover templake PSD. The clickable area is automatically generated and overlaid on your takeover image. There is no need to create extra banners. 8 Miniclip Ad Spaces Technical Specifications Toggle- Skin 9 Miniclip Ad Spaces Technical Specifications Live Demo: http://adtest.miniclip.com/games/en/?keyword=CorporateSTROTGNov12 Users can change the takeover skin by clicking on the characters appearing on the 300x250. For the best performance, we strongly recommend to make it obvious that the characters are clickable (by highlighting characters, adding a short and concise sentence like “Pick your favourite” or “Click to choose your...”, making characters floating...). Takeover skin: Please refer to the Takeover skin technical specifications above 10 Miniclip Ad Spaces Technical Specifications Interactive 300x250 – Flash Unit The template FLA file provides you with an idea of how the 300x250 passes the user choices to the API. function handleButton1Click() { trace("1 clicked"); changeToBackground(1); } function handleButton2Click() { trace("2 clicked"); changeToBackground(2); } functionchangeToBackground(bgNumber) { fscommand("changeToBackground",bgNumber) } button1.onRelease = handleButton1Click; button2.onRelease = handleButton2Click; This simple set of commands will track when a user clicks on a button, run the corresponding function for that button, and pass the number of the button that has been clicked to the JavaScript API via the fscommand function. You can have up to four buttons corresponding to four background images. Simply duplicate the commands and functions as necessary. 11 Miniclip Ad Spaces Technical Specifications Roadblock User experience: advertisement simultaneous displayed on leaderboard and medium rectangle. Width 728 Height 90 File Weight 60k Standard Creative Click-thru URL Limit 253 characters Width 300 Height 250 File Weight 60k Expandable Creative Click-thru URL Limit 253 characters File Type rd Image (GIF,JPEG,PNG), SWF, 3 party code* File Type rich media* Important Notes: For roadblock, it can only expand one of its units either leaderboard or middle rectangle (for detailed specs please refer to the relevant sections above: expandable banners) Rich media creatives must be launched from a third party code *Receipt of the banners is three working days before the starting date of the campaign file. 12 Miniclip Ad Spaces Technical Specifications Pre-roll & Mid-roll video ad User experience: Pre-roll and Mid-roll ads are 10 to 30 seconds videos running in specific Miniclip games. Above is an example of a pre-roll video on Zombotron. There is an indication of the video duration and a clear “Advertisement” notification for our users’ st rd th ease of use. Miniclip users will see the video only for the 1 , 3 and 5 game and will see it completely without being able to skip it. User experience: Users coming to Miniclip will see a 970x250 unit below the navigation bar. They will be able to close this 970x250 unit completely by clicking the “Close ad” button. Once closed, users can show the ad again by clicking the “Show ad” button. The “Close” and “Show ad” buttons will be automatically available on Miniclip.com when a super showcase unit is live. Important Notes: If combined with a takeover, the super showcase unit will blend seamlessly with the takeover skin. To facilitate this we strongly recommend designing the super showcase unit using a transparent background. Therefore the takeover skin will become the super showcase background. Unit specification: Width 970 Height 250 File Weight 40k File Type Flash 14 Max Subsequent File Size 300Kb Miniclip Ad Spaces Technical Specifications Max Flash Version: Version 9 preferable/ Version 10 can also be allowed ActionScript Version: 2.0 or 3.0 Max Flash Rate: 24 fps or less Link: will include link to Partner’s site for each button. Video codec: MPEG-4 AVC (H.264), ideally in an FLV video container, 2 Mb max, externally loaded Super Showcase with Overlay The super showcase unit also allows overlays. The overlay needs to expand to the top of the page. Keep in mind that the overlay zone should not be completely filled with a billboard or similar. It is rather intended as an area for characters or objects related to your product to put on a funny/interesting short display. 15 Miniclip Ad Spaces Technical Specifications Unit specifications: It needs to appear on the first impression (frequency capped at one per 24 hours).
