Principal Spring Break March 16th-March 20th Report Card Issued April 1, 2015 Honors and Awards Program April 8, 2015 Grades: 6-8~9:00 a.m. Grades: K-5~1:30 p.m. Cummings School was selected to host the DESTINATION 2025 Kick Off Celebration led by Superintendent Dorsey Hopson on Wednesday, March 4th. Our 2nd grade and 8th grade students played an active role in the presentation. The celebration was streamed live on 88.5 FM, Cable 19, and K97 and Grizz was apart of the program to help celebrate the new goals. You can log on to scsk12.org to watch the video and hear more about the 80/90/100% Strategic Plan for Student Success. Congratulations to our Eaglette Dance Team! They participated in the Ultimate Showdown Dance Competition at Manassas High School and won 1st Place in their division. We are so proud of them and their accomplishment! Math Problem of the WeeK Directions: Complete this activity with your child. Design five new Olympic events related to math. Explain how participants would compete and how the gold, silver, and bronze medal-winners would be decided. Be sure to complete your child's Optional School Renewal Form for the 2015-2016 school year and turn it in to their homeroom teacher. Our Junior Optimist Club has been leading a fundraising project to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The 'Pasta for Pennies Project' began on March 3rd and will end on March 13th. The funds collected will be donated to local organizations to fund research to eliminate childhood cancer. Please encourage your child to continue bringing in as many pennies or other coins they would like to donate toward this effort. By the end of the eighth grade, all students will meet or exceed the Tennessee standards and be ready to enter middle school prepared to do grade level work without need for remediation. !
