At the end of the two hour battle, the streets run red with tomato juice, skins, and seeds. One good thing about this event is that everyone who participates stays around afterwards to help clean up the mess. The town also puts up makeshift public showers down by the river, so people can wash up after the battle! takes place every August in the town of Buñol, Spain. The event is know locally as La Tomatina, and it marks the culmination of a weeklong celebration with music, fireworks and food in honor of Saint Louis.
