Congratulations to the Cahoon Museum of American Art on your 26th Great Brush Off! CAHOON MUSEUM OF AMERICAN ART | 3 Dear Friends, Welcome, and thank you for joining us at the Cahoon Museum of American Art’s Great Brush Off! Now in its 26th year, the Great Brush Off has become an annual destination event for art collectors and for those who simply love art. One of the highlights of today’s festivities is the live auction at 1:00 pm that includes many paintings created this morning by talented artists at scenic locations around Cotuit. The silent art auction, live music, and food add to the fun! With your support, the Great Brush Off is the museum’s most successful fundraiser each year. Proceeds from the live and silent art auctions enable the Cahoon Museum to contribute to the vibrant cultural life of our community by providing high-quality art exhibits, events, educational programs, and creative family activities each year. This spring, the Cahoon Museum celebrated the re-opening of its recently renovated historic house and new building addition. If you haven’t stopped by, please visit the ‘new’ Cahoon to see our enhanced space and experience what we have for you to enjoy! The Great Brush Off couldn’t happen without our participating artists who donate a portion or all of the proceeds from the sale of their work. Each year we approach talented artists in our community, and we are proud that so many of Cape Cod’s celebrated artists look upon the Cahoon Museum with such fondness and generosity. We are also grateful to our sponsors who have supported the funding of this event and who support the arts and culture. For all they have done towards the auctions’ success, the museum is indebted to the Brush Off Chair, Dan Hart, and Advisor, Leonard Carter; staff members Christy Laidlaw and Agnes Maloney and our volunteer team. If you see a great piece of art in one of the auctions, don’t let it go! Think of the pleasure of having that piece of art in your home to appreciate or maybe giving it to a friend as a gift. Thanks again and happy bidding!
