IMA International Management Conclave 2014, was an exhilarating experience; not
only because it had the Amitabh Bachchan as one of the speakers but because of
the entire aura that this event had created in the city. On social media, the amount
of knowledge it spread and the hospitality it extended was remarkable. Events as
huge as these could only be expected out of IMA's nest. And, I'm not writing this for
the sake of writing; the turn up of the audience both days proves all of it. Professionals like me, who are
knowledge hungry, love to network and stay updated, are lucky to have IMA in full-fledged action. Indore
Management Association always strives to bring knowledge to our doorsteps, lets us meet legends of
professional world and it's never falling short of number of events that it organizes round the year. Last but not
the least, I've to also mention about the IMA Anthem. It gave goose bumps, quite literally, whenever it was
played, it speaks volume of the enthusiasm and spirit of IMA. Looking forward to IMA International
Management Conclave 2015.
The galaxy of eminent speakers from diverse fields ranging from management and
business to film and spirituality provided an integrated perspective for audience and
helped them learn art of living and science of making a living. Besides this, the Conclave
provided an opportunity to network with who's who from different walks of life. The
presentations were very professional and powerful. I am confident that conclave will go a
long way in branding Indore as a whole and lift the city to next orbit. Kudos.. to IMA team for organizing the Conclave.

Simple yet powerful thought – Work the talk, something so easy to miss out. Simply
talking and walking is of course not enough. To lead by example, a must for a leader,
you must work the talk.
Inspiring speeches, little workshops, networking – perfect mix of the essential 3
ingredients we need to refresh ourselves. This “getting back to school” experience
was amazing and thank you IMA for having leaders of India share stories of their life with us. I definitely polished
my skills and learned the habits of successful leaders. "
It has been two years for our association and it was a privilege to be a part of IMA's 23
International Management Conclave.
Like every year, the adopted theme of conclave 'Leadership Now – Work the Talk'
reaffirmed quality practices by eminent leaders in the innovative world around.
I was personally, inspired by Mr. Ram Charan through his leadership attributes and can
still remember the pin drop silence we had in his entire speech. And that's what led me to introspect & learn!
Indeed, it was a great platform with eminent speakers which provided us with an opportunity to realize what we are
doing right and what could have done better.
I am sure the learning's from the conclave will go a long way in strengthening the leadership role in times to come.
Gathering delegates in a room and doing an event is easy, but to have key leaders, relevant theme, right audience
& the right atmosphere, it needs top notch organizing and this is what IMA Team has been able to put together
fanatically. It was amazingly organized and well-presented from starting of the event till valedictory session, it was
the essence of the conclave and enveloped attendees in the world of IMA! I keenly look forward to next year's
theme and be a part of it.

Mesmerized, flabbergasted & impressed with the magnificent IMA International
Conclave 2014. This was the 5th connective year that I attended IMA International
Management Conclave. It was a treat & value addition to myself to attend this
conclave. Could not blink my eyes off from the living legend Amitabh Bacchan, his
speech, his style, his humbleness, & best was when he replied to my question. His
zeal & zest at this stage of life is most inspiring for us. Rakshit Tandon's session was an eye opener for me as
we being so techno savvy are not aware of the cyber threats; I have inculcated all the possible measure told
by him during the conclave. “Think good for 3 minutes, speak good for 3 minutes, do good for 3 minutes &
take out 9 minutes for self every day”- The guru mantra by Swami Avdeshanandji was one of the best mantra
one can adopt. I appreciate & congratulate Team IMA for such a wonderful event. All what I can say is, “I will
be eagerly waiting for IMA Conclave 2015”.

IMA's 23 International Management Conclave was a great opportunity indeed to
witness dazzling assemblage of thoughts and illustrious gathering of brilliant leaders.
It had been an invigorating experience to participate in such a dynamic event which in
turn exhilarated and elated my comprehension. It was a terrific experience in
interacting with such mainstay of association empowering our nation. In spite of being
able to witness such eminent speakers; it had been an impeccable and unsullied experience at the conclave by
means of broadening ones horizons. As the theme suggested “Leadership Now – Work the Talk” the conclave has
done sheer justice to what it proliferated and has given us the opportunity to be a bystander of actions of diverse
influentials. It was indeed my dispensation and privilege to be a part of this historic event and I heartily thank IMA
for such a great contribution to our Indore city.

IMA is a great platform for aspiring

as makes you come out of your comfort zone &

I feel lucky and privileged being one
of the few to see the global thought leaders
& listen to their visionary thoughts. IMA's
23rd International Management conclave
was a great learning experience. The self
management mantra shared by swami
Avadeshanand ji was very helpful. Mr.
Mahesh Murthy, who believes that anybody
can do business because it is easier than
crossing the road, has boosted my
confidence to try new things and increase
my risk appetite. Session by Dr. Ram
Charan, renowned Management
Consultant was fruitful and can be helpful
in real life. Overall, IMA Conclave was a life

IMA-Conclave was a great success.
The main attractions were the high profile
business tycoons who shared their
success stories and life struggles with the
aspiring management students and
inspired them to expand their horizons and
channel their potential towards greater
achievement. Amitabh Bacchan-known
charismatic speaker charmed the crowd
with his life-scribes and eloquent
narratives from his father's archives.
Kumar Iyer held the crowd spell-bound with
his outstanding oratory and gave an
enlightening presentation on Great Britain
that sent the swarm over the edge with
elation. The event was not just informative
but greatly entertaining as well.

16 INDORE MANAGER | APRIL-JUNE - 2014
This was my second year with IMA & it
was a wonderful experience altogether for me.
Started with marketing phase, heading the
student groups and teams, allocating and
defining their roles and responsibilities and
making sure that the job is done. I learnt lot many
things from it. Pre conclave preparations were
also full of great learning. I was in team logistics
in control room, where I had to monitor the entire
logistics part. All went well and the Conclave was
a grand success that left behind cherishable
memories.

VOLUNTEERS EXPERIENCE
This was my first year with IMA. There
were students from different colleges as
volunteers for the event. Later, we were
segregated into heterogeneous team to gel up
with the students of different institutes. We
started with the promotional activity by creating
awareness among the Students & Corporate. We
approached several management institutes and
later visited various industries. This was a great
learning. After the promotional activities for the
event, I got the wonderful opportunity to be a
part of logistic team & to escort the honoured
speaker Dr Christian W. Engel, Dual Educator,
Germany. At IMA, I learnt the best team work
ever. Working here helped me to overcome my
weakness of being nervous at times especially
while dealing with the high profile people. I have
learnt to be multitasking and full of confidence
during the whole period that I worked with it.
Overall IMA to me is a pool of opportunities. This
place gave me the direct corporate exposure
during interaction with the corporates of
different domains. It is a great learning platform.
I am thankful to my mentors who guided me at
every step and also for their support.

THE ACHIEVERS: EXCELLENCE PERSONIFIED
Success is a journey not a destination. It has
no shortcuts said Mr. Mukesh Patidar,
Director, Gagan Leathers - a major export and
corporate supplier of Leather Goods in Indore.
His journey full of inestimable passion &
commitment started when he was in class
seven. During those days, he sold phenyl
bottles, candies etc to earn. He was always a
very optimistic, passionate & confident
person even as a teenager.
THE ACHIEVERS: EXCELLENCE PERSONIFIED
Way back in 1982, he was appointed as an office boy
in a retail outlet in Indore & soon was promoted for
the job of a salesman by the owner.
Later in 1988, he started working with the leading
leather brands of India & learnt more about leather
products. He then started his own retail store in his
small house in Khajrana with an initial investment of
`40,000/- . He struggled very hard & after 18 years of
patience & persistence, support of his family & date
of customers helped him to overcome all hurdles.
Gradually with his diligence & passion the
business flourished each day. Today, Gagan
Leather, exports its products to several
countries including USA, UK & UAE. The
company manufactures a wide range of
leather products ranging from handbags,
briefcases & customized leather products and
is a regular supplier to 40-50 companies in
Indore. Their leather units are in various cities
like Mumbai & Kolkata as well.
He shares his success mantras & says: With a
little repetition, these soon become a natural
part of our thought process, keeping us on a
continual path to success.
JOURNEY OF MR. MUKESH PATIDAR
FROM BICYCLE TO MERCEDES.
A very humble person and a profound devotee
of Lord Ganesha, Mr. Patidar starts his day
taking god's blessings. Engulfed with
optimism and enthusiasm Mr. Patidar says,
"Time, Quality & Customer Satisfaction are the
three most important factors to build a better
business".
He believes in knowing his
customer well and maintaining long term
relations with them.
1. Flow of positivity:
As the leader of your company, we need to
portray a winning state of mind and exude
positive energy. A good attitude is contagious
and inspires others.
2. Steady your reactions:
This is always at the top of his list of essential
entrepreneurial qualities. Passion, fire, and
drive are at the core of many entrepreneurs.
Abrupt reactions and decisions that aren't well
thought-out don't do you or your company any
good. To prevent them, try to plan proactively
and keep the big picture in mind.
3. Know & stick to your moral compass:
It's easy to get swayed by great opportunities or
quick fixes. Set yourself and your company up
for success by knowing your boundaries.
4. Perception is king:
Protect your personal reputation and brand, as
well as that of your company, by building an
image that's meant to last.
His message to the young generation is:
"Yesterday is gone. There's nothing you can do
to bring it back. You can't "should've" done
something. You can only DO something.
Renew yourself. Release that attachment.
Today is a new day!"
Dream big. Be disruptive. Color outside the lines
& create some of your own mantras that will
keep your compass pointing north.

Rule 6: Use commas to set off
all geographical names, items in

the two-letter capitalization form of
a state, you do not need a comma
after the state.) I lived in San

met her husband on December 5, 2003,
in Mill Valley, California. (If any part of the

Rule 4: Use a pair of commas in the middle of a
sentence to set off clauses, phrases and words that
are not essential to the meaning of the sentence. If
these words are dropped, the sentence will still
make sense and retain its basic meaning. I am, as
