Stroboframe • Stroboframe
Stroboframe is the world leader in
professional flash bracket innovation.
On-camera or
side-mounted flash:
Flat lighting, harsh
shadows and “red-eye”
First introduced in 1976 by engineer/photographer Conrad Sloop, Stroboframe
flash brackets have evolved over the years into a comprehensive system known
for innovative features and outstanding quality. These flash brackets are used
by more wedding photographers than any other make. Sloop’s newest
Stroboframe brackets offer even more features, to give wedding and specialevents photographers more professional results.
Choose from three types of bracket:
1. Camera-Rotating Brackets — The Most Versatile
Featuring the original, patented Rotary-Link,™ this family of brackets is made
especially for rectangular-format cameras. These brackets allow you to rotate
the camera, keeping the flash centered above the lens for both horizontal and
vertical compositions. This design permits unlimited flash positioning and
aiming. It is also the best bracket for use with a tripod. Rotary-Link brackets
are the most versatile of the Stroboframe system.
With a Stroboframe
bracket:
Better lighting, with
subdued shadows and
no “red-eye”
Horizontal
“Rotate”
Vertical
2. Flash-Rotating Brackets — Compact and Lightweight
These brackets rotate the flash, rather than the camera, to keep the flash
centered over the lens for horizontal and vertical compositions. They are
generally lighter and more compact than the camera-rotating models.
You can create truly professional, studio-quality
photographs with the Stroboframe flash bracket system.
Stroboframe brackets position the flash unit high
overhead, eliminating side shadows and “red-eye,”
giving you better lighting. With Stroboframe brackets,
you’ll produce more natural, flattering photographs
that will delight your clients.
Superior design, materials and manufacture
In designing our brackets, we call upon two decades of our own experience as
well as the comments and suggestions of professional photographers. Our
products are field-tested before they are introduced. What you get is a proven
bracket with features that make photography easier, help you be more
productive and deliver superior results.

3. Square-Format Brackets — For 6 x 6 Cameras
Since square is square, there is no need to rotate the camera or flash. These
non-rotating brackets still keep the flash centered over the lens, while allowing
the flash unit to be adjusted for tilt and bounce. Square-format brackets work
well on a tripod, too.
For every camera, for every flash
All Stroboframe brackets are supported by a full range of flash mounts, Camera
Anti-Twist (“AT”) Plates and quick-release (“QR”) options. Moreover, these
accessories are interchangeable for many of the brackets, so that if your needs
or equipment change, your Stroboframe system will never become obsolete.
Stroboframe brackets are made in the USA. They are constructed of aircraftquality aluminum with baked-on epoxy finishes for long wear. All rotating
components feature nylon bearings or inserts. Hand grips are made of either
selected American walnut or cushioned, high-density neoprene foam.
All Stroboframe products carry a five-year limited warranty without the fine
print. If it breaks, we will fix it!

Pro-T
Pro-T and
Press-T
Our lightest, fastest,
professional brackets.
The Pro-T and Press-T are flashrotating brackets. Both are light,
compact and fast-handling. The flash
arm swings to keep the flash
centered over the lens for both
horizontal and vertical compositions.
These brackets do not require the use
of a cable release.
Unlike conventional brackets,
the Pro-T is designed for you to
hold the camera rather than the
bracket, providing a more natural
way of shooting. It allows you to
switch between horizontal and
vertical compositions instantly.
The Press-T is a slightly
shorter and even more compact
version of the Pro-T. It is popular
with photojournalists and other
shooters who work out of a
camera bag.
Features:
• Pivoting, machined flash arm
keeps the flash centered above the
lens for both horizontal and vertical
compositions.
• Solid, machined aluminum
components combine to provide
lightweight, superior rigidity and
extraordinary balance.
• Integral QR (Quick-Release) Plate
mates to optional QR Receiver,
allowing the bracket and tripod to be
attached or detached instantly.
• Pro-T incorporates 3° downward
flash tilt for both horizontal and
vertical compositions. This improves
lighting coverage for typical flash
shooting distances.
• Fully compatible with cameras
with accessory battery packs or
motor drives.
• Accepts all Stroboframe flash

Stroboflip
The most compact
approach to flash
rotation.
The Stroboflip is an ultra-compact,
“gripless,” flash-rotating bracket. It
cradles the camera unobtrusively
while maintaining an over-the-lens
flash position. Its design lets you
hold the camera, rather than a grip,
and rotate the flash for horizontal or
vertical composition. An additional
advantage is that the stress and
weight of the flash unit is transferred
from the light-duty camera shoe to
the rugged Stroboframe mount. The
Stroboflip is made for shoe-type
flash units.
Features:
• Accepts all 35mm SLRs and
smaller 6 x 4.5mm cameras.
• Supplied with a machined,
positive-locking shoe mount and a
35mm Anti-Twist Plate (interchangeable with other AT Plates).

Think for a moment about the time you spend fumbling with screws while
attaching your camera or bracket to a tripod. Detaching it is not much quicker.
Now, consider the speed, convenience and safety of this instant, snap-in
mounting system.
The Stroboframe QRC is a compact, low-profile quick release that
automatically docks and locks your camera or bracket to a tripod. It releases
with a press of the locking lever. The QRC is also perfect for use with studio
stands and copy stands.
The system consists of a QR Receiver, which is mounted to the tripod,
and a QR Plate, which is attached to the camera. Many of our brackets have
an Integral QR Plate built in.
To use the Stroboframe QRC, lower the camera or bracket into the QR
Receiver and push down. “CLICK!” your camera is mounted and securely
locked into place. To remove the camera or bracket, squeeze the QRC’s lever
and lift out. The system is compatible with all 35mm and medium format
cameras. Camera Anti-Twist Plates can also be used with the system.
QRC systems are available as a complete kit, including a QR Receiver
and a QR Plate. Or, you can purchase the QR Receiver alone for use with
Stroboframe brackets that have Integral QR Plates. Standard QR Plates are also
sold separately.
The unique QRC Quick-Release system has many other applications.
For example, it is used with copy stands for faster, convenient film reloading
without disturbing the setup. In addition, it can be used for mounting spotting
scopes for birding and target shooting. Skydivers even use it to mount
cameras on their helmets!

Flash Bracket Accessories
Stroboframe
Flash Mounts
Stroboframe makes mounts, usually
sold separately, for every type of
flash unit. A 1/4"-20 knob or screw
is included with all brackets to attach
any of the flash mounts described
below. This knob also functions to
attach flash units with 1/4"-20
sockets or dedicated TTL cords.
Bracket Shoe Mount
Featuring a clamping-style lock,
this mount holds the heaviest
shoe units securely. It will not
loosen up even under the most
rigorous use. Its locating pin
ensures that it won’t twist on the
bracket. The Bracket Shoe
Mount attaches with the
bracket’s mounting knob.
Machined, solid aluminum
construction.
Catalog Number: 300-SHO
Universal Shoe Mount
Like the Bracket Shoe Mount
(above), but without a bracketlocating pin. The Universal
Shoe Mount is a special
version supplied with a 1/4"-20
knob for general-purpose photo
applications. It mounts to light
stands or flat surfaces and
can be used to upgrade nonStroboframe flash brackets.
It can also be mounted on
the flash arm of many of our
brackets to provide a
convenient way of attaching
shoe-mount accessories such
as remote flash triggers.
Catalog Number: 300-405
Bracket
Handle Mount
For attaching flash units with any size tubular handle. Its locating
pin ensures that it won’t twist on the bracket. The Bracket Handle
Mount’s heavy-duty, nylon clamp secures flash at any desired
height and locks with a twist of the knob. The clamp’s all-nylon
construction ensures that it will not mar your flash unit.

Metz Quick-Release
Flash Mounts
Although the Bracket Handle Mount
(above) fits Metz flash units, those
who prefer to use Metz’s own quickrelease system need to use one of the
following Stroboframe mounts. All
mounts have a machined tongue that
slides directly into the Metz quickrelease coupling. Its locating pin
ensures that it won’t twist on the
bracket.
Stroboframe Metz
mounts are offered in
several variations to
accommodate all Metz
models and all Stroboframe
brackets. Select from the
chart below.

Flash Quick
Release
“QRF”
Attach or detach your flash instantly
with one hand. The QRF provides a
fast and easy way to momentarily slip
the flash off the bracket to change
lighting direction. It’s also an added
convenience when setting up or
taking down your equipment.
The QRF Flash Quick Release
accepts any Stroboframe flash mount
and works with all current-model
Stroboframe brackets (except Quick
Flip 350, Quick Flip 120 and
Stroboflip). The QRF’s all-metal
construction features an aluminum
housing and stainless steel release.

† Although the Pro-T and Press-T accept the 50MZ-5 using a Metz Mount 2, it is not the recommended
combination. The 50MZ-5 is very bulky for these compact brackets and the combination results in a
slight misalignment of the flash and lens axes. We recommend that you use the Pro-RL or Pro-SQ
brackets with this flash.

Camera Anti-Twist Plates
A Stroboframe Exclusive!
Cameras mounted to flash
brackets of any brand,
including ours, tend to twist or
rotate on the camera mounting
screw. Cork or rubber friction pads
help, but the real solution is to use a
camera-specific Anti-Twist (AT) Plate.
These plates act as an interface between
the camera and bracket. They pin-register to
the bracket and conform to the camera’s
baseplate. This locks the camera to the bracket
to prevent twisting.
Anti-Twist Plates are sold separately because
there are so many camera configurations. We
manufacture different AT Plates to fit virtually any
camera. Also, because our Anti-Twist Plates are interchangeable,
your bracket will never become obsolete should you buy different equipment!
Note: When using Pro-T or Press-T model brackets with heavier flash units,
we consider the use of a Camera Anti-Twist Plate mandatory.

*** To maintain complete TTL flash function when using Nikon SB-series flash units
on our brackets, you must use a Nikon SC-17 cord with this plate, which prevents
the SC-17 from twisting. Twisting can cause the flash and lens to be misaligned.
*
Anti-Twist Plate not needed; cork pad (supplied with all Stroboframe brackets)
provides adequate anti-twist prevention.
** For Mamiya 6, 6MF and 7 models, use Pro-T/m bracket, which has a built-in
anti-twist feature.

CENTERED
CAMERA ROTATION
ON TRIPODS
The Vertaflip PHD (Professional/
Heavy-Duty) is a fast and convenient
tool for rotating your camera
horizontally or vertically on a tripod.
The Vertaflip PHD allows you
to rotate the camera without
changing the lens axis. All tripod
head controls remain in the same
position, letting you concentrate on
the subject rather than having to
fumble with newly positioned
controls. You can switch between
horizontal and vertical compositions
with a simple flick of the wrist. With
the Vertaflip PHD, you gain speed,
convenience and precision.
The Vertaflip PHD keeps the
camera weight balanced over the
tripod center; this is especially
important when using heavier,
medium format cameras.
Features:
• Standard 1/4"-20 tripod socket in
base and 1/4"-20 mounting knob in
camera platform.
• Heavy-duty, double-link
construction assures rigidity, even
when using heavy medium format
cameras.
• Accepts optional Anti-Twist Plates
