Director Message:
Director’s Message
As spring and summer seasons approach us, we are looking forward to warmer weather, lots of fun new
programs, and our new Parks & Recreation Expo happening on Sunday, April 28th from 10am-2pm!
The Expo is a great opportunity to find out more about our programs and summer camps, talk to our
experienced staff and register early for most summer programs including swim lessons. We are offering
many new classes this spring and summer that will appeal to the whole family. Looking through the guide,
you will find classes on lego camp, tahitian dance, animation flix, baseball, softball, cheerleading, flag football,
soccer and volleyball camps. We also have great summer camps to keep your children active and engaged.
In this guide you can find the detailed information covering all ages for recreation classes, aquatics, sports,
facility rentals, licensed child care, tiny tots and 50 + activities and services. We hope you will include some
of these activities as part of your upcoming plans. Classes and camps fill up quickly, so register early!
We would also like to know if there is anything we can do to improve the quality of the parks and recreation
experience here in Hercules. Please do not hesitate to call us with suggestions or ideas you may have to
help improve the parks and recreation programs and activities we offer.
For updated information please visit our website www.ci.hercules.ca.us, as we continue to expand the
information that is listed. You may also call us directly at (510) 799-8291.

When you take Aqua Zumba®, a bathing suit and towel are
required and a bottle of water is recommended. Join us for a
Zumba party like never before and you don’t even need to know
how to swim. This is definitely not your typical water workout;
shake, shimmy and sizzle in the water as we create some heat,
Zumba Style. Don’t be fooled, this is not your normal aqua class.
The moves are intense. Latin dance rhythms are incorporated
into this class. Exercise movements include hamstring curls,
Zumba shuffle, kicking, twisting and clapping.*Water shoes are
required for safety; you may purchase these from Walmart,
Target, or any sport store. Pay $45/$50 for the monthly pass
and see page 16 for all the classes you can attend for the month!

CC Cafe
CC Cafe lunches provide 1/3 of the recommended dietary allowance for healthy adults 60+. Menus are
planned with your health in mind. Reservations are required and must be made between 9am-12:30pm the day
before. For a suggested donation of $2.00 per lunch you can get a healthy and delicious meal Monday-Friday.
Zumba Gold
Zumba Gold targets the largest growing segment of the population: baby boomers. It takes the Zumba formula and modifies the moves and
pacing to suit the needs of the active older participant, as well as those just starting their journey to a fit and healthy lifestyle. What stays
the same are all the elements the Zumba Fitness-Party is known for: the zesty Latin music, like salsa, merengue, cumbia and reggaeton;
the exhilarating, easy-to-follow moves; and the invigorating, party-like atmosphere. Active older adults want camaraderie, excitement and
fitness as a regular part of their weekly schedule. Zumba Gold is the perfect fit. It’s a dance-fitness class that feels friendly, and most of all, fun!
