2016 FOLKLIFE FESTIVAL POSTER
The 2016 poster features an image of an original oil painting by 99-year old Hannibal artist Len Moss. The image captures festival
dancers entertaining the festival crowd in a typical street scene during the annual event. One of the dancers, Jean Vincent, has been
involved with the festival since its first year, as has Moss. The Hannibal Arts Council thought it a worthy tribute to both individuals’
dedication to the festival to use the painting image which so fondly sums up the fun, tradition and foundation of the festival in
Hannibal.

VOLUNTEER! It’s a good thing.
Be involved in Hannibal’s most popular festival and give back to your community by volunteering at the Folklife Festival. The Hannibal Arts
Council needs individuals who would volunteer for a 2 to 3-hour shifts on Saturday and/or Sunday and help the arts council sell cider, root beer,
coffee, beer/wine or work behind the scenes with festival set-up and take down.
There are lots of time options available. Call Kerrie at the Hannibal Arts Council Office at 573-221-6545 or email kerrieo@hannibalarts.com to
go over the volunteer options.
“Volunteering is the ultimate exercise in democracy. You vote in elections, but when you
volunteer, you vote every day about the kind of community you want to live in.” - Unknown
