We’re thrilled Austin was selected by the North American Gay Amateur Athletics
Association (NAGAAA) to host the 2016 Gay Softball World Series, one of the largest,
annual LGBT sporting events in the world!
The 2016 Series will take place August 15-20 and will mark the event’s 40th Anniversary.
We expect over 5,000 athletes, coaches and fans from 43 member cities across the U.S. and
Canada to flock to our beloved city for a chance to compete in an inclusive environment and
to celebrate equality one game at a time.
The city-wide economic impact of the event should exceed $5 million. We’re currently
looking to partner with local businesses and corporations to make the 2016 Series a
memorable one. In addition to supporting a massive registration of over 3,000 players,
corporate partners bring the social aspect of the 2016 Series to life by helping to
underwrite an exclusive Opening Ceremony at the Long Center for the Performing Arts,
a Hall of Fame Banquet at the Bob Bullock Museum, a Closing Block Party in downtown
Austin and a signature fundraising event benefiting local LGBT-related charities.
In exchange for their generous support, corporate sponsors enjoy a wide range of exclusive
recognition opportunities and benefits, while gaining valuable brand recognition among
worldwide audiences. Most important, they play a key role in helping NAGAAA change
perceptions and bring about a more tolerant, broad-minded and unbiased culture that

Who and what is NAGAAA and the Gay
Softball World Series?
F
ormed in 1977, the North American Gay Amateur Athletic Alliance is an international sports
organization comprised of men and women dedicated to promoting amateur athletics for
the LGBT community. Member city leagues across the United States and Canada compete in five
divisions of play - A, B, C, D and Master. Currently, 873 teams with 5,000+ participants and fans from
43 city leagues across the United States and Canada participate in NAGAAA Gay Softball World
Series (GSWS), hosted in a different member city each year.
While the primary focus of NAGAAA remains the organized athletic competition of gay softball,
they are also committed to helping the community. NAGAAA raises thousands of dollars through
its annual fundraising even held each year during the Gay Softball World Series. The money goes to
support various local HIV/AIDS and other organizations in the city hosting that year’s GSWS.

World Series and will showcase Austin in ways that will leave a lasting impression and create
