Net of reference stations in Russia
Basic stations location is
arranged so to ensure
the required accuracy of
interpolation of
meteorological data
The reference station is the basic stations with at least 30
years record.

STAFF AND DATA
Meteorogical station operateв all the year round. The meteorological measurements are
carried out in terms of meteorological standard in 3 hours. Data is transmitted using the
satellite communication system INMARSAT. All work is done by qualified meteorologists
with Roshydromet control. Measurement of the depth of the active layer and the thermal
state of permafrost recording are carried out 2 times a year

PERSPECTIVES OF STATIONS “BELYY ISLAND"
With the support of the Government of YANAO, Department of
Science and Innovation YANAO, Russian Centre of Arctic Exploration
and the Russian Academy of Sciences it is planned for the period of
2016-2020 :
• Expanding the geothermal observation network at Belyy Island
• involving Belyy Island station into the international CALM, TSP and
GTN-P projects
• Expanding the number of monitoring parameters and the
organization of integrated monitoring of the coastal dynamics
• Organization of regime hydrochemical and hydrological study of
the rivers and lakes at Belyy Island
• Anticipated expansion of biological research
• Formation of a database on all research conducted at Belyy
Island, followed by the creation of an integrated GIS
Thank you for attention!
