So let’s Get Started! Here’s how this interactive celebration will work: 1. An Ammmazing Anaconda Nonprofit will be showcased on a slide. 2. A reporter for that group will have 2 minutes to share information such as: a. What is the group’s mission b. What’s been done c. What’s next d. What YOU can do! 3. PSAP Pintler Suicide Awareness & Prevention Students line up at the First Presbyterian Church during Lunch Bunch to hear a presentation from PSAP. ASIST Applied Suicide Intervention Skills provides practical training for caregivers seeking to prevent the immediate risk of suicide. Getting ready for the annual Remembrance Walk. The PSAP Model is being shared and implemented in other states! Friends of the Library Cheese, Wine and Chocolate Fundraiser; Support Summer Reading Program, Free Movie Nights, Reading the Greens Tournament, Holiday Bazaar, Shakespeare in the Park….….. and much more! Hearst Free Library Staff The Friends support the historic Hearst Free Library and its staff to ensure our library remains the best in the state. Copper Village Museum and Art Center Great things are happening with the Museum! What is P.E.O? Anaconda’s Philanthropic Educational Organization Anaconda's P.E.O. has been supporting women pursuing post high school educational opportunities for over 70 years. Lindsay Torpey and Jennifer Holdaway will be receiving scholarships from our P.E.O. Chapter of $250 and $100 respectively for their Academic achievement, leadership qualities and community involvement. Ashley Maes, Class of 2015 awarded $2,500 Community Hospital of Anaconda Foundation The Red Carpet was rolled out in Anaconda! CHA Foundation raised $33,000 to support the hospital, nursing home, hospice and clinics. We also granted two $500 scholarships to Anaconda High School Seniors. What we do: Instruct students in math (basic through algebra), reading (fiction and non-fiction, social studies, science), language, essay writing, digital literacy, and workforce preparation. Network with other agencies, such as Vocational Rehabilitation, Job Service, Educational Opportunity Center, Job Corps, Career Futures, high schools, employers, and colleges to create career pathways. Collaborate with colleges by coordinating instructional materials, assisting with transition to college, giving the COMPASS test, proctoring exams, and holding College Exploration Workshops. Facilitate High School Equivalency registration, accommodations, scholarships, information, and follow-up; tutor students in HiSET testing areas. Anaconda Coalition for Tolerance Education Young People’s Theatre Providing after school and summer theatre opportunities. ARROWHEAD FOUNDATION http://anacondasuperfund.com/ • Arrowhead Foundation works to relay Smelter Site Superfund information to the larger community of Anaconda and maintain the county’s Superfund Library. HEARTHSTONE MANOR Hearthstone is a non-profit organization that provides quality living arrangements for Seniors and disAbled adults. AWARE, Inc. Anaconda Thrift Center Helping and Sharing since 1975 The Thrift Center is a place to donate your items you no longer need so that some one in need can receive help. The center also gives back to Anaconda once expenses are met and shares funds to benefit others. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program collects new, unwrapped toys and distributes those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in Anaconda.
