ON OCTOBER 16TH AT THE LAKE STOREY PAVILION.
595 hands covered the
wall, representing the men,
women, & children who
received services at Safe
Harbor last year.

interactive look into the
choices a survivor must
make while attempting to
flee abuse.

It’s time once again
for our Annual Fall
Fundraiser!
The event gets
bigger and better
every year,
and this year is no
exception!

Former Protexall
Building
(77 S. Henderson St.)
“No Reason” will be back again this year to provide live music
throughout the evening.
Dinner, served from 7-8:30 pm, will be catered by Club 41.
Enjoy pulled pork sandwiches, salads, and dessert.
A cash bar will be available throughout the event.
Our silent auction has a little something for everyone, & includes beautiful
themed baskets, filled with items donated by local and national businesses.

We will also be selling raffle tickets for a chance to win a new iPad!
Tickets for the event are only $10!
Tickets are available for purchase at Safe Harbor

The holiday season should be a joyous time, but for families affected by domestic violence,
Christmas continues to be a difficult time. At Safe Harbor Family Crisis Center, we try to make
the holidays a little brighter for the families we serve, but we cannot do it alone. Each year, we
look to the community to help us give these families the Christmas they deserve.
Beginning November 6th, Safe Harbor will have a special tree located in our reception area.
Hanging on the tree will be the names of children whose lives have been uprooted as a result
of domestic violence. Organizations, families, and individuals are invited to choose a name
from the tree and purchase gifts for that child. Gifts can include nonviolent toys, clothes,
books, games, gift cards, etc., and can be dropped off at Safe Harbor during regular business
hours.
Members of the Knox College community volunteered
at the Purple Hanger as part of the college’s
Day of Service in September. Thank you, Knox!

With the holidays fast approaching, we would like to restock our
cupboards so that we will be able to assist our clients in preparing
holiday meals for their families. Any nonperishable holiday food
items would be greatly appreciated, especially instant mashed
potatoes, cranberry sauce, yams, canned pumpkin, cake mixes, cream
of mushroom soup, and French fried onions.
We are also low on staples such as Tuna Helper, macaroni and cheese
and other boxed pastas, canned soups, cereals, canned fruits, and
children’s meals, such as Spaghetti O’s and ravioli.
donations can be dropped off at Safe Harbor during business hours,
Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm.
