Since then, his smooth, made-for-radio voice has rarely been absent, as he has landed jobs at Top 40 and R&B stations. These days, he provides the heat in the mornings at old-school Mega 104.3, which seems like a perfect fit for Santa Maria. Not only he is a reassuring presence on the airwaves, but you know this Phoenix native genuinely loves the music. Critics' Picks: Best Afternoon Drive DJ Ruben S. 2-6 p.m. weekdays on KAJM-FM (104.3) mega1043.com Things are still crazy for Ruben S., even though he hasn't been paired with former partner Crazy Kid for a few years now. On his own, Ruben "Radio Boi" Escobar has scored with a slot at Mega 104.3, where he plays requests and even helps listeners brush up on their Spanish skills. Smart and playful, there's a reason that Ruben S. has been part of the Valley radio scene for more than a decade: He's just good. It seemed like sort of a weird idea when The Beat — a quadrocast station made up of KNRJ 101.1 FM, K224CJ 92.7 FM, K257CD 99.3 FM, and K228XO 93.5 FM — started bumping old-school R&B and hip-hop in late 2008. Then an L.A. station picked up the format, making the Phoenix-bred format less of a novelty. There are a few solid stations for hip-hop in town, but we really like the unique playlist on The Beat, built around hits from the golden age of rap and featuring such artists as Pac, Biggie, Dre, and Snoop. And, sure, we like a little Warren Hill, some Fresh Prince, and a little R. Kelly in there, too. The Beat is good-time music and always manages to make us smile as we flip by for a few seconds on a long commute. • 2 Pac • LL Cool J • Snoop Dogg • Jay Z • Dr. Dre • Ludacris • 50 Cent • Missy Elliot • Run DMC • Nelly • Notorious BIG • Busta Rhymes • Ice Cube • Warren G • The Beat Music • Puff Daddy • Ton Loc • Bone Thugs & Harmony • Digital Underground • Outkast • Beastie Boys • Coolio • Naughty by Nature AZTHEBEAT.COM The Beat’s Digital Platform provides the best in digital marketing opportunities Email Blasts Texting Streaming Leaderboard 728x90 Right Column 300x250 Wallpaper Wraps Pre-Roll Video Weather Sponsorships Traffic Sponsorships Tile Ads 125x125 Video Player Ads Interactive Contesting SMarketing E C T I O N& Promotions TITLE HERE • azthebeat.com website sponsorship opportunities • The Beat “E-Mail Blasts” - Direct E-mail sponsorship opportunities • The Beat promotional material including co-branded merchandise DETAILS AND IMAGES HERE • Testimonials & Endorsements by The Beat on-air talent • On-air feature sponsorships • Traffic sponsorships • Weather sponsorships SE C TSignal ION TITLE Our HERE 101.1 FM 93.5 FM DETAILS AND IMAGES HERE 99.3 FM 92.7 FM Covering The Phoenix Metropolitan Area and Northern Arizona Arizona’s Old School Connection KAJM & KNRJ Take Advantage of the Perfect Combo • Over a Half Million Weekly Cume • Median Age 35 • 65.2% are 25-54 • Over 61% work full-time • 54% earn more than $50,000 per year • 92% have children living at home • 48% Female and 52% Male listeners Source: Arbitron April 11/May 11/June 11 M-Su 6a-12m P12+ Arizona’s Old School Connection KAJM & KNRJ • Ethnic Breakdown • Ethnic Breakdown • Black 19% • Black 17.8% • Hispanic 45% • Hispanic 52.8% • Other 36% • Other 29.4% • 80% of Hispanic Listeners are English Dominate • 69.8% of Hispanic Listeners are English Dominant • Employment • Employment • Full Time 59% • Full Time 60.6% • Part Time 11% • Part Time 7.9% • Household Income • Household Income • Less than $25K 16% • Less than $25K 17.8% • $25k-$50K 27% • $25k-$50K 28.4% • $50k-$75K 24% • $50k-$75K 20.2% • More than $75K 24% • More than $75K 33.6% Source: Arbitron June 11/May 11/Apr 11 M-Su 6a-12m P12+., Weekly Cume persons • Education • Education • High School Grad 26% • High School Grad 20.5% • Some College 21% • Some College 29.2% • College Grad 33% • College Grad 17.2% • Household Size • Household Size • 2 or Less 33% • 2 or Less 20.8% • 3 or More 58% • 3 or More 70.9% • Target Composition • Target Composition • Female 55% • Female 47.7% • Male 45% • Male 52.3% • Listening Location • Listening Location • Home 31% • Home 28.6% • Away from Home 60% • Away from Home 71.4% Contact Us General Manager Sales Manager Michael Mallace michael.mallace@sierrah.com Craig Boston craig.boston@sierrah.com Program Director Promotions Director Traffic Director Fred Rico fred.Rico@sierrah.com Matt Kirkpatrick promotions@sierrah.com Davi Barnes davi@sierrah.com Production Director Ramses-King Taylor production@sierrah.com 7434 East Stetson Drive #255 Scottsdale, AZ 85251 PH: 480.994.9100 FAX: 480.423.8770 mega1043.com / azthebeat.com
