“We’ll get her home and have a look at her but the main thing with
her is to keep her fresh, that’s how she races at her best.”
Jockey Hugh Bowman was also delighted with the performance
of Miracles Of Life and said he was always confident he was going to
have enough in hand to deny Gregers.
“She’s already a Group One winner obviously and everyone
knows what her record is like,” he said. “She’s just so consistent and
an absolute pleasure to deal with.
“To come here and get a Group One as an older mare, I know it

it means a lot to her owners in America.
“The pace was a bit muddling in the early stages but when we
settled into position, I was just three deep with cover. I had a nice
piece of cover from Sabatini and that horse was able to get me to

COVER STORY FINE DELICACY SCORES IMPRESSIVE OAKS WIN
SUNDAY 3 MAY 2015 ANZ
Owned and bred by Bob Peters, Delicacy (3 f Al Maher - Simply
Wicked by Scenic) took her record to nine wins from 13 starts to date,
with prize money earnings totalling $1,119,400. She is the second
foal and only winner from two foals out of the Scenic (Sadler’s Wells)
mare Simply Wicked and became the fourth Group One winner for Al
Maher (Danehill) with yesterday’s win.
The winning filly’s dam was purchased for $4,000 at last year’s
Inglis Australian Broodmare and Weanling Sale by Scenic Lodge from
the Holbrook Thoroughbreds draft. This year’s sale begins today and
Inglis’ national bloodstock director, Jonathan D’Arcy, said: “Delicacy
joins the likes of Criterion, Kermadec, Sepoy, So You Think and Black
Caviar, whose dams have produced very valuable stock since they
were purchased from an Inglis Broodmare Sale here in Sydney.”
Out of the multiple Listed winner Street Talk (Marauding), Simply
Wicked was covered by Blackfriars (Danehill) last October after
producing a colt by Al Maher in September.

Marianne was up on the pace, in second spot behind Japhils
(Choisir), but Atlantis Dream began to move up powerfully around the
outside of the field as they turned for home.
Japhils retained the lead as they straightened for home but
Atlantis Dream’s headway down the centre of the course was eyecatching and she was followed through by Let’s Make Adeal (Red
Ransom). The pair hit the front inside the closing stages but Atlantis
Dream had enough to win by a neck.
Marianne stayed on for third, despite being a little one-paced, the
same distance back.
The win added some valuable stakes form to the CV of Atlantis
Dream, who trainer Darren Weir said could back up in the Centaurea
Stakes (Listed, 2000m) at the same course on 16 May.

Pacemaker Unsurpassed tried her hardest to give trainer Jason

team but had to settle for a gutsy second. Thwayya also battled on
nicely to shade Miss Wilson (Stratum) for third with race favourite The
Justice League (I Am Invincible) fifth after sitting wide all the way from
an outside barrier.
Trainer Stephen Marsh was understandably delighted after
the race given it had been a last minute decision to nominate the
debutant.
“She was scheduled to start in the two-year-old race at Avondale
last Monday but we missed out when the meeting was abandoned,”
he said.

Bell added that Pornichet was just too classy and had the race

“He was always going to win a race like that and he is up to better
class,” he said.
Trainer Rob Heathcote, meanwhile, was thrilled with the run of
Hopfgarten.
“It was only his third run from a spell and he went straight from
