²  Playing standards
²  Player development will be the priority
²  Player movement will be for development
Training Methodology
Train our Identity
Our #1 One goal:
Create the best possible training habits
Training sessions will be designed so that the emphasis is simple: what the players put
into training will determine what they get out of it. Standards will be high.
Teams will, at times, train together in a variety of sessions to strengthen our culture.
Training sessions like small-sided tournaments, functional training, set pieces, flyers,
athletic performance (speed and agility etc…) as well as class room sessions.
Training Expectations: Arrive early and tuned in, no cell phones, no jewlery (train like
we play), correct gear (training clothes AND equipment eg: shinguards, cleats, flats,
running shoes etc...) If watching training? If missing training?
Emphasis on high standards in training!
Training Methodology Continued . . .
Train our Identity
²
To help our players understand proper technical training behaviors
²
Standards will be set early with high intensity exercises
²
Repetition with emphasis on body control/speed of play with both feet
²
Technique and touches under pressure
²
Be creative. Be courageous.
²
Train with a competitive mentality and accountability towards technique
²
Understand what needs improvement and take away ideas to improve
²
Training will be hard work and the hard work will be fun!

AREAS OF FOCUS ON THE FIELD
(Playing standards/themes)
Enhance our Identity
²  Building from the back (starting with the GK)
²  Playing through the lines (backs to midfielders to forwards)
²  Possession (3 passes breaks pressure, 7 passes or more scores goals)
²  Change the points of attack
²  Service from the end-line
²  Scoring goals (shots from distance)
²  Pressing
²  Transition Defending
Playing Time, Playing Up, Guest Players
Enhance our Identity
Playing Time: How do I get more playing time?
Training habits, game execution/effectiveness, TAKE TOUCHES
Playing Up: How do I get to play up?
Players playing up must be able to make a clear impact in the team they are playing up on.
Guest Players: Who gets to guest play with us?
When bringing guest players to events we look to reward current FCB players first
Can I guest play with a team outside of FC Boulder?
Definitely! As long as there is NO CONFLICT with any FC Boulder events and it is developmentally
appropriate (burn out, injury etc…) We want to be fully invested in and support our players to develop,
compete, and get exposure.
Player Movement In-Season
Enhance our Identity
²  There will be player movement throughout the season.
²  Player movement is based on individual development needs
²  If this is your child – GREAT
²  If this is not your child – GREAT
²  It is the expectation that everyone supports the decisions of the
coaching staff as they are putting the best interest of the players first
