At the turn of the 21st century, firearms
enthusiast and lifelong shooter, Marty Daniel,
had multiple concepts and designs he thought
would greatly improve his M16 rifle. Unable
to find these parts in the commercial market,
he designed and created sling loops and rails
in small batches and soon found the demand
for these types of products was much greater
than he could have ever imagined. Thus,
Daniel Defense was born.
Marty set aside a small corner of the shop
belonging to his other business located in
an industrial park in Savannah, Georgia, for
Daniel Defense. The newly founded company
soon witnessed substantial growth. As
forecasted demand justified a larger facility,
Marty designed and built a state-of-the-art
38,000 square foot manufacturing plant
located in Black Creek, GA.
The next few years proved to be fruitful
for Daniel Defense as new and innovative
configurations were offered for our brand
name Daniel Defense DDM4 Carbine.
An expanded line of products meant
substantial capital investments, like the
acquisition of additional Vertical & Horizontal
CNC Machining Centers. This positioned
Daniel Defense to gain new advantages in
design and manufacturing capabilities.
One such investment in recent years took
Daniel Defense to the heart of the rifle—the
barrel. No Daniel Defense rifle would be
complete without a state-of-the-art barrel.
Daniel Defense is one of five companies
worldwide that own and operate barrel
production cells capable of producing Cold
Hammer Forged rifle barrels. With the addition
of a second Cold Hammer Forge machine in
2014, Daniel Defense will be able to produce
over 14,000 barrels a month in multiple
calibers and configurations.
In addition to our headquarters in Black
Creek, and our 90,000 square foot facility
in Ridgeland, South Carolina, Daniel
Defense is currently expanding our Georgia
facility, making room for $10 million in new
equipment. Investment in manufacturing
facilities and new, cutting-edge machinery will
allow Daniel Defense continued growth while
meeting our expanding customer demand.
These acquisitions demonstrate the Daniel
Defense “take no prisoners” mentality and
desire to grow as a major player in the
commercial rifle market. It’s this mindset
that led to Daniel Defense being chosen as
the provider of rails for the US Military’s Elite,
Special Operations Command (SOCOM), as
well as being the sole provider of L85 rails
to the United Kingdom Ministry of Defense.

As the finale of 2012’s Torture Test 2, 35lbs of explosives were placed under a vehicle to simulate an IED exploding during a convoy.
The rifle survived, less the plastic butt stock as shown to the right, and with the slightest tweaking of the buffer tube, was able to be fired without issue.
Why take a perfectly good rifle and come up with as many ways as

One of the V1’s most visible attributes is its proprietary front sight
block, CNC-machined from 4140 steel, finished with a salt bath
nitride surface treatment, and featuring a serrated curved design to
minimize glare.
The DDM4 Rail™ 12.0 FSP on the DDM4v1
provides extra rail space beyond the carbine front
sight block for the mounting of lights or other
accessories as well as giving the user more room
for an extended shooting grip.
Like all DDM4 models, the V1 features Daniel Defense’s beveled

The MFR™ 12.0 rail can be run “slick” to give absolute minimal
weight, or by using the included picatinny rail sections, the user can
customize exactly were accessories are mounted.
The smooth, lightweight MFR™ 12.0 allows
the shooter to fully customize the placement of

In addition to the QD sockets built into the DDM4 Rail™ systems,
every DDM4 includes a rear receiver endplate with an additonal QD
socket. In combination, these provide the end user the ability to run
almost any configuration of single- or double-point slings.
300BLK
(7.62x35mm)
The fast-burning powder used in 300BLK loads
gets the highest possible efficiency out of short rifle
barrels, providing extreme accuracy and ballistic
performance. The Daniel Defense fixed sights are
available separately, see the “accessories” section.
The 300 BLACKOUT is the most recent in a
long line of .30 caliber cartridges developed
for use in AR-15-style rifles. Unlike its
wildcat predecessors, the 300 BLK is a
SAAMI-standard cartridge. It provides
7.62x39mm or better ballistics from the
AR platform with only a barrel change. It
uses standard 5.56 bolts and magazines.
Available in supersonic or subsonic loads.
Daniel Defense’s standard 6-position Mil-Spec receiver extension
allows you to fine tune the rifle’s fit to any shooter or shooting
position. The standard Mil-Spec H-buffer and buffer spring combine
to help ensure reliable and smooth operation.

The integral suppressor sits halfway inside the MFR™ rail. The
design allows extra volume inside the suppressor to maximize
suppression while the extended design brings the overall barrel
length past the federally-mandated 16”, preventing the owner from
having to register the ISR as a regulated Short Barreled Rifle (SBR).
When shooting subsonic ammunition, the integrally-suppressed barrel of the ISR produces overall sound
pressure levels below even those of suppressed 9mm submachine guns, delivering an impressive 220gr payload
downrange. With no adjustments to the rifle, the user can switch to high performance supersonic ammunition
for extended range shooting, and still enjoy sound levels comfortably below the OSHA-recommended limits for

The ISR suppressor’s one-piece core easily removes with the
help of the inclluded tool to facilitate end-user cleaning and
maintenance.

The Daniel Defense DDM4ISR (Integrally Suppressed Rifle) 300 joins our family of precision-crafted M4 Rifles. The ISR takes advantage of
the best characteristics of the 300BLK by integrating key components into one package, eliminating the need for two separate tax stamps.
While the rifle utilizes a 10.3” barrel, it is not classified as an SBR (Short Barreled Rifle) because the suppressor is permanently attached. The
DDM4ISR 300’s sound suppressor is threaded and welded to the proprietary ISR Integrated Gas Block, bringing the barrel length to 16.145”.
While the rifle is at the 16” legal limit, the ISR’s integrated suppressor will require an NFA tax stamp. Class III dealers only. All NFA rules apply.

The RIS II Rail mounts to the receiver using our miltary-tested
and adopted 6-bolt Bolt-Up System™, providing an incredibly
strong user-serviceable interface, a free-floated barrel, and an
uninterrupted top rail.
The Daniel Defense Rail Interface System II (DD RIS II) was designed at the request of
the United States Special Operations Command (SOCOM) for the SOPMOD II weapons
system. After years of rigorous testing by Special Forces Operators, Daniel Defense was
selected as the Sole Source Provider of the RIS II to SOCOM. The Daniel Defense fixed
sights are available separately, see the “accessories” section.

and special operations forces.

The DD M4A1 is built around a cold hammer forged 14.5” chrome
lined M4 profile barrel. We pin an extended DD improved flash
suppressor to the end to bring the overall barrel length to just over
16”, avoiding the NFA regulation and transfer tax.
The Daniel Defense RIS II has all the components needed to free float the M203 grenade launcher built
into the rail itself. Remove the lower rail, rotate down the M203 Hangers & attach the M203 using the
same screws! The Daniel Defense fixed sights are available separately, see the “accessories” section.
Grenade launcher not included.
The M4A1 configuration is part of the SOCOM “Block II” carbine kit
and is currently used by a wide variety of U.S. forces.

The AR15 Lite Rail II™ is the next generation of Lite Rail from Daniel Defense. The improved
design enhances the rail’s structural integrity, improves functionality, aesthetics and ease of
installation to the weapon system without compromising its best-known attributes, one of which
being the lightest rail system on the market. Enhanced features include a machined from one
piece aluminum rail which replaces our previous two piece welded design, our patented Bolt-Up

NEED TO KNOW
DD CHF BARRELS
Cold Hammer Forging (CHF) of barrels has
been known for decades to produce the
most accurate, longest lasting rifle barrels
obtainable. The Cold Hammer Forging of
barrels is accomplished through intense
hydraulic pressure applied at opposing
angles by carbide steel hammers. During the
hammering process, a mandrel is inserted
into the bore while the carbide steel hammers
shape the barrel around the mandrel creating
the chamber, the lands, and the grooves.
In addition to the aforementioned benefits,
the Cold Hammer Forging process changes
the micro-structure of the steel making it
stronger, with a defect-free bore and the most
consistent chamber possible.
What started for Daniel Defense as a barrel
project has quickly proven to be an industry
changer. Unable to locate a supplier of Cold
Hammer Forged barrels for our own rifles,
we purchased a Hammer Forge capable of
supporting our needs. In early 2009, after
months of research and development and labor
intensive testing, Daniel Defense introduced
one of the only commercially available 5.56
Cold Hammer Forge Barrels in the United
States. After fine-tuning the manufacturing
process and proving these barrels to be some
of the most accurate and durable currently
available, Daniel Defense introduced an entire
line of Cold Hammer Forged Barrels.

This is the core element within our Hammer Forge Machine.
These four hydraulic hammers are responsible for shaping
our barrel blanks around a carbide mandrel which creates
the lands and grooves of the bore as well as the chamber.
Approximately 4,000 barrels pass through this machine each
month. Cold Hammer Forging (CHF) produces barrels with a
surface finish 11.5X smoother than traditional “cut” barrels as
shown in the below comparison.

magnified primary optics on AR-type rifles
with MIL-STD-1913 rails. The geometry
allows for zero cheek-weld shift during the
transition. This facilitates very fast transitions
from magnified to non-magnified optics, and

streamlined design makes it the optimum
