Gautam Bhattacharjee (right), joint managing director, SF Sonic, handed over the keys of a Pulsar bike, a certificate and memento to the winner. The contest, which saw mechanics from 400 garages across eight cities vie for the title over the past three months, tested their professional skills along with other contests. Somnath emerged the winner from among 40 finalists. The divas will be performing in different cities in India and the Middle East. Salman Khan’s Jai Ho co-star Daisy Shah will be joining the CCIL New Year Bash star club for the first time. In the stun- C ning line-up is the sizzling Gauhar Khan, the sensuous Aarti Chabria and the talented Sophie Choudry, who will set the stage on fire with her vocals and dance moves. Proudly introducing the gang of glamourous girls, CMD CCIL Rajeev Reddy said, “Its been a pleasure to provide high quality entertainment in all our events. This time, we are starting preparations three months prior, since it will mark our 25th year in the industry and it’ll give our club members ample time to decide their favourite club destination according to their favourite star.” On this occasion, Country Club cut a huge cake in celebration. Speaking about Asia’s biggest New Year bash, Rajeev Reddy said, “Country Club has completed 25 years and it has been a rollercoaster ride for us. We have grown a lot and have expanded our operations with every passing year. The phenomenal success of our ‘Asia’s Biggest New Year Bash’ has become a benchmark. Our membership base has grown in numbers and we take pride in our members who have stayed with us all along.” t was an evening brimming with music and a touch of nostalgia, as Sahajiya Foundation organized a tribute to Tinkari Chakraborty, who breathed his last on August 30. With a bevy of musicians in attendance, the event turned out to be a memorable one. The packed-to-capacity auditorium lapped up performances by the bauls along with Tanmoy Bose and Bickram Ghosh, who played Tinkari’s dubki as a mark of respect. Singer Swapan Basu rendered a mahajani song. “Tinkarida was a magician. It was a delight to see these performers together on one stage,” said Deb Chowdhury.
