opo una lunga pausa, quest’anno l’8 e il 9
maggio, nella splendida Abbey Ten Bogaerde
in Belgio, si è tenuto il West Coast Cup, dove
si sono disputati due importanti eventi, il Campionato
Nazionale C e il Campionato Internazionale B.
Alla manifestazione, impeccabilmente organizzata da:
Koenraad, Katrien, Luise, Marie ed Ester Dettailleur,
hanno preso parte quasi 100 cavalli, provenienti da diversi paesi. Distribuita in due giornate, il primo giorno
ha avuto inizio il Nazionale, a seguire il giorno successivo, l’Internazionale.
Numerosissimi gli sponsor presenti, fondamentale il
loro contributo, senza i quali la riuscita dell’evento non
sarebbe stata possibile. Ricordiamoli: Ajman Stud,
Atbah Stud, Al Khaled Farm, Arabian Sun Horses,
Dubai Stud, Joye Horses, BA Arabians, Knocke Arabians, Swatam Arabians, Flanders Midwest, Belgian
Arabian Studbook, Molekcule Vichte, Bessewacht
Arabians e Gemeente Koksijde.
La giuria internazionale per il Nationale C era così

fter a long break, the National Belgian Championship and the International West Coast Cup were
held on May 8th and 9th at the wonderful Ten
Bogaerde Abbey in Belgium.
Almost 100 horses from many different countries took part
in the event, which was impeccably organized by Koenraad, Katrien, Luise, Marie and Ester Dettailleur. Two main
events were held over the two days of May 8 and 9. The
West Coast Cup National Show was held on the first day,
the International B Show on the following day.
A large number of sponsors attended the event, without
which all this would not have happened and which contributed to the success of this event. Worth mentioning are:
Ajman Stud, Atbah Stud, Al Khaled Farm, Arabian Sun
Horses, Dubai Stud, Joye Horses, BA Arabians, Knocke
Arabians, Swatam Arabians, Flanders Midwest, Belgian
Arabian Studbook, Molekcule Vichte, Bessewacht Arabians
and Gemeente Koksijde.

Invece per quello che riguarda l’International B sono
stati invitati i seguenti giudici: la Sig.ra Silvie Eberhard
(Germania), la Sig.ra Anna Stojanovska (Polonia) e il
Sig. PierLuigi Rota (Italia). Il Chairman della disciplinare ed esperto il Sig. Gijs Eggink, sostenuto dall’eccelente supporto del ring master il Sig. Ronny Voch.
Lo show è stato emozionante e di elevato spessore, dovuto soprattutto dalla qualità dei soggetti presentati.
Per due intere giornate è stato un susseguirsi di soggetti in gara e di categorie ed anche l’intera organizzazione è stata praticamente perfetta.
Le uniche delusioni il tempo, purtroppo ventoso e non
soleggiato... e l’amarezza, a tratti, di alcuni allevatori
per qualche aspettativa di vittoria non arrivata.
Come spesso accade in Europa, tra le persone presenti,
pubblico o proprietari, c’è chi gioisce per una vittoria, a
volte inaspettata, e chi recrimina un mancato risultato
che magari, alla vigilia, sembrava già in “tasca”.
Ma anche questo fa parte del gioco e come sempre bisogna ricordare che…“Show is Show!” q
(Emirates).
The judges for the International B show were Mrs. Silvie Eberhard (Germany), Mrs. Anna Stojanovska (Poland) and Mr. PierLuigi Rota (Italy). The Chairman of
the disciplinary commission was Mr.Gijs Eggink, who
had an excellent support by a ring master of the caliber
of Mr. Ronny Voch.
The show was very exciting and the quality of the horses
in the competitions very high.
For two days it was an ongoing sequence of competitors
and categories, and the whole organization was virtually flawless.
The weather was very wind and overcast and everyone
was exhausted in the end. Some breeders expressed their
bitterness for not obtaining some victories.
As it is always the case in Europe, among the people taking part – spectators and owners alike – there is always
someone who celebrates a victory, sometimes unexpected,
and those who complain or get upset for missing a victory that before the event seemed to be already in the bag.
But this also part of the game and we should always remember that… a show is a show! q
