By Bob Bailey
Executive VP of Operations, COO
Teeco Products, Inc.
Hard to believe but this year is halfway
gone. I guess time really does fly when
we are having fun. I am probably like a lot
of you. When I went to work in this industry in 1975, I was in college and intended
to move on upon graduation. Now here I
am 40 years later. There is just something
about this business that gets in your blood.
It could be the opportunity to learn; there
is never a day that I don’t learn something.
It could be the opportunity of employment;
you will never be out of a job in this industry
and could find one in any state. But what
it really is for me, is the people. Over the
years, I have been able to not only have
business relationships but true friendships
with our Customers and Vendors. I told
someone once, if all your friends are customers and vendors, then you are truly doing a good job.
This month’s Teeco Topics has a lot of new
products for you to investigate and expand
your knowledge... I hope that if you were
Executive Vice President & COO
Bob Bailey
Vice President of Administration & CFO
out West in May, that you had an opportunity to join us at the WPGA convention.
I personally want to thank all the Vendors
who generously donated products for the
silent auction and also thank those of you
who purchased those items. We have
listed all of the Vendors who generously
donated on our website, so please go to
www.teecoproducts.com and take note
to thank everyone for their investment in
all our futures through the Silent Auction
which helps fund the WPERC scholarship
fund. If you missed the WPGA convention
this year, make sure to check out all the
pictures from the tradeshow and our hospitality room (I guess what happens in Reno
doesn’t stay in Reno, Sorry!) and make
sure to mark your calendar for next May, so
you can come see all of your friends.
Thanks,
Bob Bailey

Jay Stephens began working at Teeco in March 2007 as Fabrication
Manager. He was promoted to Manager of Fabrication & Engineering
in 2009, and to his current position of General Manager of Operations
and Fabrication in 2012. He now oversees the Fabrication, Engineering and Truck Inspection & Repair departments, as well as the day to day operations of
Teeco’s branches.
Jay came to Teeco from AmeriGas, where he began working in December 1979, back in
the Cal-Gas days. At Cal-Gas and AmeriGas he filled bottles, served as Market Manager,
and everything in between - starting in Sacramento, and working in Jackson, Angels
Camp, Livermore, Santa Cruz, and Central Sierra Foothills as Area Market Manager; then
back to Sacramento with Teeco.
He comes from a long line of LP-Gas Industry members. Jay’s Grandfather, Bud Warney
Rogers; Father, Jim Stephens; Uncle, Robert Rogers; Father-In-Law, Porter Guinn Sr.;
Mother-In-Law, Carmen Connie Guinn; Brother-In-Law, Porter Guinn Jr.; and Wife, Susan
Guinn-Stephens are all Industry alumni.
Besides hanging out with propane people, Jay enjoys mountain biking, golfing and
volunteering for the non-profit foundation, Running for Rhett, in honor of his Godson
Rhett, who died of Cerebral Palsy at the age of 7. Each year, the foundation raises tens
of thousands of dollars to help provide after-school fitness programs for children in
Sacramento area schools.

Field Advisory: 3121 Unloading Adapter and L7579 Filler Valve
RegO has recently become aware of two reports of the 3121 unloading adapter being used to remove product from LPG containers with
L7579 Low Emission Filler Valves installed. In these instances, when connecting the 3121 unloading valve to the L7579 filler valve, a release
of product took place. This was caused when connecting the 3121 (in closed position); the stem made contact with the low emission filler
valve seat disc, which causes movement of the seat disc without turning the handwheel. The Installation and Operation instructions for
RegO’s 3121 unloading adapter lists the filler valves it can be used with and it does not list the new low emission filler valves.
RegO intends to modify the 3121 adapter to accommodate low emission filler valves. An announcement will be made soon regarding this
modification.
Please be advised not to use the 3121 unloading adapter with RegO’s low emission filler valves. Instead, use RegO’s 3119A or
3120 series with the low emission filler valves.
Please share this advisory with all personnel and customers. If you have any questions, you can contact your Teeco Representative or Ed
Miller at RegO Products 336-446-7265.

State Inspector Training at Teeco
Products & Kamps Propane
Two-Stage Regulators
NEW!
High Capacity Two-Stage Auto Changeover Regulator
#108263
Working with Don Cook, Principle Safety Engineer of the Department
of Industrial Relations (DIR), Pressure Vessels Unit (PVU) in May,
Teeco Products Sacramento and Kamps Propane Sacramento hosted
over 50 California State Inspectors and Insurance Industry members
for a day of training on various aspects of Propane Equipment.
Hands-on LPG training was led by Rob Scott of the Western Propane
Gas Association, Bob Bailey of Teeco Products, and the PVU’s Associate Safety Engineers Pete Schoch, Micah Davidian, and Mike White.
Rob Scott covered Basic Propane Functions & Equipment, Bob Bailey
discussed Dispensing Units, Pete Schoch talked about Bobtails, Micah Davidian explained Dispenser Plumbing, and Mike White covered
Bulk Plants.
The group was able to see an open cross section of a propane tank
to understand how the internal valves function; see how a propane
delivery truck is used; discuss the installation requirements of bulk
LPG storage in 30,000 gallon vessels; and actually touch the various
valves and fittings that are usually not accessible when installed.
This type of training is extremely beneficial to the Inspectors because
it helps them to gain a better understanding of propane equipment and
our Industry’s emphasis on safety, which also helps our Industry as
a whole.

Two-Stage Regulator #108220
The new M.B. Sturgis Two Stage Regulator has surpassed all competition in the
RV market. This regulator is the “straightthrough” version of the new Auto Changeover Regulator and also has the highest flow
capacity in the Class A, B & C market place.
The high flow rate and ability to maintian 9”
W.C. pressure at extremely high flow rates
ensures that all the appliances on the coach
can easily function and run a standby generator without losing gas pressure.
The Two Stage Regulator performs the same pressure reducing function of a single stage low pressure regulator, except
that it does so in two stages. The first stage reduces cylinder
pressure to 10PSI and sends it to the second stage where it is
reduced to 11” W.C. Because the pressure is reduced in two
stages, and because the second stage receives a consistent
inlet pressure, the regulator provides a very even, efficient
flow of gas.
