NAKOMIS AND
NAKOMA SCULPTURES
Created as a tribute to the
Winnebago Indian Nation, two
sculptural figures were to stand in
large circular, shallow basins of water
at the entrance to the Frank Lloyd
Wright designed Nakoma Country
Club, Madison, Wisconsin. Neither
the statues nor the clubhouse were
built during Wright’s lifetime. In
1929, Wright had the Nakoma and
Nakomis sculptures produced at
a smaller scale in terra cotta. This
edition is very rare. These ceramic
reproductions are based on the
original 1929 version Wright had

In the 1930s, Wright created his own
distinctive font using basic drafting tools: the
compass, T-square, and triangle. Known as the
Exhibition font, it is the basis for these house

Midway Gardens (Chicago, IL, 1913-1914; demolished
