XAVIER The junior pitcher went 8-0 with a 0.44 ERA in helping lead Moeller to the state championship. In 48 innings, he allowed 26 hits and struck out 81. The senior first baseman batted .436 with 16 doubles, four home runs and 31 RBI in helping lead the Bombers to the regional championship game. The senior third baseman/ pitcher batted .351 with three homers and 20 RBI, and as a pitcher went 4-0 with a 2.02 ERA. He helped lead Sycamore to the Division I regional final. The junior pitcher went 4-3 and led the Greater Miami Conference with a 1.56 ERA, with 76 strikeouts in 49 innings. The senior third baseman hit .446, led the area with 45 runs and ranked among the top five in home runs (7), triples (4) and steals (35). The senior outfielder led area Division I players in hitting (.519) and was named FAVC Buckeye player of the year. He had 35 runs and 27 steals. The senior shortstop hit .405, had a .490 on-base percentage, scored 26 runs and was considered one of the area’s top defensive players. The senior outfielder ranked second among area Division I players in hitting (.509). He was named FAVC Cardinal co-player of the year. The senior first baseman/pitcher hit .458 with three homers and 32 RBI. As a pitcher he went 3-3 with a 2.33 ERA, and was the GMC player of the year. The senior shortstop hit .430 with seven home runs and 28 RBI, tying for the area Division I lead in homers during the regular season. The senior infielder led the GMC in batting at .460, with an on-base percentage of .500. He also drove in 18 runs and scored 26 runs in 26 games. He guided his team to a 23-2 record and No. 1 ranking in the final Div. III state coaches’ poll. The Eagles won the MVC and reached the district final. The junior infielder/pitcher led area Division III players in hitting (.537) and as a pitcher went 8-1 with a 0.30 ERA. The senior catcher hit .418 and led the area in home runs (11). He also led the GCL North in RBI (31) during the regular season. The senior pitcher/infielder was named GCL North player of the year. He hit .511 with five home runs and as a pitcher went 3-3 with a 1.50 ERA. The senior outfielder batted .487 with 36 runs, seven home runs and 36 RBI in helping lead the Lions to the Division II regional semifinals. He was named CHL player of the year. The junior infielder/pitcher batted .509 with 32 runs and 26 stolen bases. As a pitcher he was 8-2 with a 0.78 ERA. The senior pitcher went 4-2 with a 1.96 ERA and during the regular season led area Division III pitchers in strikeouts with 72 in just 36 innings. The junior shortstop hit .389 with a .528 on-base percentage and 34 RBI in helping lead the Rockets to the Division II regional title game. The senior pitcher went 6-2 with a 1.37 ERA, helping lead the Spartans to a Division II sectional championship game.
