I know that I can’t do that next year so have decided not to re-nominate for a third term as editor, but it is great fun being more involved with the operations of HOG and I may well put my hand up for something or other the year after. Luckily with such a large club and the wealth of talent within, I’m sure there will be someone out there to take up the cudgel. It’s not a difficult job so long as you can use the basics of a PC (even a MAC may do) and don’t forget, you don’t write Hogwash, you just cut and paste what the other committee members write. Nowadays you don’t even need to be able to spell which is just as well, as I was never very good at it anyway. If you are interested give me a call, email or just ask me. mob 0434 196 862 or editor@brisbanehog.com. au Anyone is welcome to come over and see how it’s done. I’m happy to give as much support and training as you need. One hour may be enough but I will always be on hand to assist further with anything unusual that may arise. There is a set of guidelines to work from and I will be writing a brief technical worksheet to simplify things even further. Go on - give it a go - you won’t regret it. Cheers, Chris (Renewal Form Included as a loose leaf) Front Cover Brisbane City-scape Hogwash is the official monthly newsletter of The Brisbane Harley Owners Group Inc. ABN 45 663 195 384 54 Ross Street Newstead Queensland 4006 PO Box 3099 Newstead 4006 Brisbane Harley Owners Newsletter 1 HOGWASH July 2012 Director’s Report F i r s t l y , congratulations to Sammy on his July monthly ride, what a great day, the weather was brilliant and the route young Sam lead us through was spot on. Once again, the morning tea and lunch venue’s excelled and it was tremendous to see a good number of bikes at the goodbye stop for Sam’s Ride Captain Patch presentation. And even though the committee deal with a complaint or two on most rides, it usually takes just a quiet word to the offending rider, and it’s sorted. Well done to his team also, Toni, Brett and Glenn. There was only one bike in the back up vehicle, with a flat front tyre, which was good for the ‘B’ team back up vehicle drivers (aka Pez and Juan). Brisbane Hog is one rather large riding family, but more importantly, every one of us has another family to go home to after a ride. This, more than anything, is why your committee takes a very strong stance on safe riding. Following lunch in Maleny, the pack passed an unfortunate accident involving a single motorcycle. The rider had obviously lost control of his sports bike on a corner and collided with the embankment, killing himself instantly according to news reports on Sunshine Coast radio the next day. A father who never made it home to his family that night. So, to all those members and associates who get out of bed at ‘half past early’ on the first Sunday of each month, and on numerous other events, on behalf of this committee, I’d like to thank you. Thank you for acknowledging the guidelines that have been put in place for everyone’s safety and making our rides the safe day out that we’ve come to accept and expect. Brisbane Hog, as a Chapter, with all the monthly rides plus other rides and activities we cram into our calendar, clock up an amazing amount of kilometres during the year. Do the maths yourself when you get a spare minute. And even more amazingly we do not have many serious accidents. We may have the odd ‘off’, and most times there may only be some minor injury, the last time we had to call an ambulance was a couple of years ago or longer! That doesn’t give us a reason to slacken off though, let’s keep our record as clean as possible, take those skills and techniques courses, read the Safety Officer’s report and above all… look out for your riding mates. The present committee and more importantly, many past committees have put guidelines in place, worked on them and made adjustments where necessary to improve them, so that our rides are as safe as possible, given the nature of motorcycling. When new riders come along to our Provisional brief prior to their first ride the Road Captain, Safety Officer, Safety Support Officers and all committee members’ stress to them the safety aspect of Brisbane Hog rides. Ride Safe, Pez A man goes to the supermarket and notices an attractive woman waving at him. She says ”Hello!”. He’s rather taken aback because he can’t place where he knows her from. So he says, ‘Do you know me?’ To which she replies, “I think you’re the father of one of my kids.” Now his mind travels back to the only time he has ever been unfaithful to his wife and says, “Are you the stripper from the bachelor party that I made love to on the pool table with all my buddies watching while your partner whipped my bum with wet celery?” She looks into his eyes and says calmly, “No, I’m your son’s English teacher. We met at the last parents’ evening” contributed by Gazza 2 Brisbane Harley Owners Newsletter July 2012 HOGWASH P aul Lewis, bringing you prestige with personality. After making his name as a world-class racer and then successfully moving into the motorcycle industry, Paul Lewis has brought his wealth of Harley-Davidson experience and knowledge to Morgan & Wacker HarleyDavidson Brisbane. Paul’s history running Harley dealerships in the UK for the past two decades - where he sold bikes to the likes of David Beckham, Eddie Irving, Eddie Jordan and Damon Hill - has built his knowledge of customer service and estabished his strong stance on the “customer experience”. Boasting his legendary enthusiasm and contagious optimism, Paul is set to help make Morgan & Wacker Harley-Davidson a truly unique and memorable experience for Harley riders. Paul, where were you born? Edithvale, Melbourne, Victoria. Family? Wife Tereza, Son Jaime 5, Daughter Vivien 3 and my eldest Son Jackson 22 who lives in the UK. How did you start in the motorcycling world? Well I was competing in a gymkhana with my older sister and my pony was misbehaving and in the next paddock a mini bike zoomed by... it was love at first sight! No more sneezing or rubbing of eyes and struggling to control one horse power. From that day it was petrol and Castrol R running thru my veins. I was eight years old. Tell us about your racing career... It started with mini bikes and every weekend was race day! By the time I was 12 my bedroom was littered was over 600 trophies and ribbons. I then started Road Racing and won 7 Australian Championships before heading to Europe, eventually retiring as British Champion and my best 500GP result was 9th. How did it all begin at Harley-Davidson? I’ve always loved Harleys, as they epitomise a real motorcycle. Most of my racing contracts stipulated “No Winter Skiing or Sports Bikes” so I rode Harleys!! Great ‘cause the teams didn’t see Harleys as a danger. So I owned and rode a number of Harleys from Shovel Heads to Twin Cams. How many dealerships have you managed? Too many to list! The most relevant ones I guess were; the United Kingdom - Dockgate 20 Harley, Thames Valley Harley, Silverstone Harley and Oxford Harley. Australia - Fraser Motorcycles Perth, Sydney, Wollongong and Newcastle. What are some of your career highlights? Without mentioning racing it’s got to be my record charity event where I raised 470,000 pounds for the Red Cross auctioning a Harley Experience. What is your favourite Harley? I love ‘em all! If I had to choose two, they would be: a Tourer, FLHX and anything Springer. What is your vision for Morgan & Wacker Brisbane? Its crystal clear...To be the envy of all the other H-D Dealers. Customers travelling from far and wide to experience the difference! MORGAN & WACKER BRISBANE 54 Ross St, Newstead - (07) 3252 5691 www.morganandwacker.com.au Brisbane Harley Owners Newsletter 3 HOGWASH I July 2012 Activities Officer’s Report was at Morgan and Wacker a couple of Saturdays ago to watch Dianne Williamson lead about sixteen of the LOHs heading out on their overnighter to Warwick. Quite an impressive sight watching the girls take off down the road, the roar of the pipes, the gleam off the chrome and paint and not forgetting the radiance of the girls themselves. I remember when I started riding with the Chapter back when Noah was a boy, I think we had three female riders - my how things have changed. Vicki or Kathy could correct me but I reckon there must be thirty to forty by now, all getting out there mixing it up with boys and having a great time. Well, I assume so! While I was at M&W seeing the girls off and getting a few happy snaps, you only have to take a look around and see how busy it’s becoming down there on a Saturday morning; people kicking tyres, registering for the Qld State Rally, memberships and generally catching up with one another over a snag and a coffee, and inside the store you couldn’t fit a tram ticket between stock items and Harley-Davidsons as everything is being moved around for the store revamp, which is about to start happening. Lots going on, check out the calendar. At our last HOG night Henk threw his cap into the ring and offered to lead the Cruise for Cancer ride up to Toowoomba on Sunday August 26th departing BP Blacksoil at 6:46am. Wear something really warm, like two pairs of thermal long-johns. Thanks Henk, much appreciated. RIDE AND HAVE FUN! Regards... Ronnie. What’s Coming Up In The Near Future? What’s left in July... I could not have done it without all you guys. F irstly I would like to thank everyone who attended this ride - I’m very proud to ride with you guys. Three months ago I was asked by K~i~w~i Ba~rry “Are you interested in being a ride captain for the July ride.” I was like WOTDA! are you for real *&#@!? Barry! Shut up~! You’re not kidding me are you - but his face was serious. North has always been my favourite and I love the Mapleton area. Luckily the weather was good and I hope everyone did enjoy the ride. If you ‘wanna’ get any of the photos I took, please bring your USB to the next meeting and you can download them from Arron. Lastly, I’m very proud of Brisbane HOG. Live to Ride ~ Wicked~~~~ Sam I only joined Brisbane HOG a year and a half ago and since joining I have met lots of great people and enjoy my happy Harley life with everyone I now know. I feel very honoured to be a ride captain for the Brisbane HOG chapter. I had to change my route a million times. I was planning a long trip but due to the fact that I had changed to a small bike - the Forty Eight - which has the smallest tank in the world, I have had to re-route many time to make sure I will not run out petrol. Thanks to Perry who at last month’s meeting gave me that extra tank - that’s very helpful and made everyone laugh. hehehe I would like to thank my Green Group leader Toni (Betty Boop), for keeping a steady pace and my Tail-End Charlies Glen and Brett. I very much appreciated Glen and Brett who have always helped me out and given me lots of advice while putting this ride together. Brisbane Harley Owners Newsletter 21 HOGWASH July 2012 Brisbane Hog Sheriff E very HOG night I get up there in front of our members and proceed to give heaps to whoever has come to my attention, it doesn’t really matter how big or small the misdemeanour, someone’s going to cop a floggin’, and while up there dishing it out I cop quite a bit of stick myself, fair game I say. Just like being at home around the dinner table copping a bashing off Ches occasionally. That’s life, that’s what it’s like in our chapter, people getting out and about on their Harleys, going to various functions and socialising. All that laughter you hear every HOG night makes me think we’re going along ok; we might just be one of the happiest if not the kissingest chapters in Australia. Enjoy the ride! I was out recently enjoying a weekend away at Millmerran with a small posse from our chapter; James and Teresa were in the pack in front of me as we departed the Millmerran pub after picking up a few supplies for the weekend. As we were departing I could see Teresa checking in her mirror for traffic as we were about to make a u-turn, but a vehicle wasn’t far away and brakes were applied. Not a good thing when you have your handlebars turned hard right and touch the forward brake. Teresa’s Springer touched the ground about as hard as a butterfly wing on your cheek! Fortunately no harm to Teresa and a couple of scratches that you would need a 20x magnifying glass to see, so by and large all good. In the split second that all this was happening James was next to me watching all this unfold worrying for her safety, meaning the Springer, I swear I could hear him saying under his breath “Throw yourself under the bike, throw yourself under the bike! Protect the chrome and paint at all cost.” Very compassionate words that cost him a fine. On this same weekend away Mick Old was found wanting in the art of knot tying, maybe Jimmy Piperidis (Molly) could give him a few pointers after his Bathurst Rally effort! At the precise time Mick had overtaken a couple of vehicles, his bag, tied to the rear seat decided to slip off to the side, graze past the rear wheel and get it’s self flicked up under the rear fender between that and the tyre, and ground everything to a stop. Clouds of smoke that you could see from the moon engulfed the road and turned day into night as Mick’s bike decided enough was enough and pulled over to the shoulder of the road. From there we proceeded to roll his bike backwards to free up the wheel, retrieving his gloves, wet weather gear and the bag itself, all ground down to pulp. Needless to say Mick had his money on the table already at the start of our last HOG night. Regards, Ronnie Da - Sheriff Don (Dinger.) Juan WHO GOT BUSTED AT OUR LAST MEETING? For wearing a NSW State of Origin football jersey to the HOG night. For picking up one of Steve’s (Shorty) ride patches he had made to commemorate those going on his June ride. Steve said “Juan was in his car!” so we asked that it be glued to his front fender. 22 Brisbane Harley Owners Newsletter July 2012 Wendy, Connor, Kat and Ches Colin and Ann Moody Singer James and Mick Noela HOGWASH Got caught out short-sheeting all the beds in the dormitories before our arrival. I believe they got a real sweat up, I thought that should be their penance, but then no, fine ‘em! Thought the dormitories were set up for kids, as they couldn’t get into their bed, as it was too shallow for them. So they slept on top. For inappropriate handling of Noela’s balloons. (That’s big orange and black HOG balloons,) in the disposable overall balloon stuffing race, at Millmerran. For the above. For her remarks regarding the Tug-O-War. Noela said “Coral won the tug off with Rob.” Poor choice of words! Any similarity with what is written here and the truth is strictly co-incidental. Head Road Captain’s Report H i everyone. It was great to get out on the highway this month on Sammy’s ride, and enjoy the sunshine and warm weather. Excellent ride Sam, so on behalf of all who attended thanks for a great day. Towards the end of the ride we came across a cold sobering sight. Something as a fellow rider you just do not want to see. It appeared that his lack of concentration and possible incorrect braking technique were big factors in this situation. Therefore on warm days make sure that you are properly hydrated, as lack of fluids can cause fatigue and follow on to complacency. If you are unsure on the correct up to date braking methods, then please take the opportunity to attend one of our invaluable techniques courses. All you have to do is simply contact the safety officer for more details. Next month’s ride is Perry’s Director’s Ride, so this should be a good day out and hopefully we get a good turnout to support him and his team, as this will be his last ride as Director of our Club. a small twist to it. As we are running out of time and available weekends, we will combine this event with a practice for the rally bike games. This will enable the organisers of the bike games, Scott and Coral to work out the timing and what games will or won’t work. These bike games are always a lot of fun, whether you chose to participate or just cheer your fellow Hogs on. Hopefully we will get a big turnout to make this into another successful day. The cost of the Poker Run is $20 per hand, which includes lunch and some really fantastic prizes for the winning Poker hands. That’s all from me this month, ride safe, have fun, and look after your mates. Cheers, Kiwi Barry Following the Directors ride, on Sunday 19th August is the Poker Run. This year the poker run will have Brisbane Harley Owners Newsletter 23 HOGWASH July 2012 Assistant Director’s Report W ell almost the end of another great Brishog year, winter HOG riding in Australia and summer HOG riding in North America. Luckily we live in beautiful Queensland, where we can ride almost every day of the year and it isn’t too chilly. In the 18 years (July 4th) I’ve been riding with Brishog I’ve seen people wearing more clothes in summer than I wore riding in the cold Toronto winters – no sense, no feeling I guess. But what a great state to live and ride in and haven’t we had some great rides this past year. I’ve also covered all of the H.O.G. information for everyone every second month which I hope you found of interest. We all know what it’s like when we get pamphlets and booklets in the mail or handed to us. Usually throw them away, or if it’s H.O.G. stuff have a quick look and file it in a drawer – so maybe my paraphrasing of what’s on offer has added to everyone’s wisdom. I think that one of my favourite H.O.G. sayings is this one – “No turn is a wrong turn, if it leads to more road”. I’m sure we’ve all made a u-turn or two and/or have been on a ride where the ride captain has completed that task (I know I did last year), but who cares, the ride and camaraderie is always fantastic. For those of you who joined us on the revamped Million Mile Monday, now known as the World Wide Ride you might be interested to note that tens of thousands of riders around the world participated on June 24th and 25th. When the event comes together like clockwork and you realise everyone has enjoyed themselves you then relax. I am sure Dianne Williamson can relate to that, what a wonderful weekend thank you Di from all the girls who attended. As they say what happens on tour stays on tour. Di’s Murder Mystery Report from the Abbey Firstly, a big thank you to the ladies who came to the overnighter, it is you that made the weekend lots of fun, time to enjoy the laughter and frivolity of the weekend’s events. After a week of persistent rain it was nearly plan B to drive the tin tops to Warwick, but as forecast the weekend weather was amazing. A quick brief at M & W, 15 LOH riders, 3 in a tin top and 6 extra riders all rode to lunch via Kalbar, quick stop in Aratula then to Bestbrook Mountain Resort just past Cunningham’s Gap. Not knowing how everyone would feel about dressing up into 1920’s gear and participating in a “Host a Murder Party”, it was when everyone at lunchtime started to question who was what character and who was having the affairs we realised we were in for a great night. We arrived at the Abbey around 2:30pm after going through 4 or 5 speed traps and having a patrol car joining the ride from Maryvale to Warwick. I was keen to overtake a couple of cars but after considering the riders behind me, decided to ride at the given speed limit... phew, could have be another donation to the police fund. Once settled in at the Abbey, we partied upstairs with cheese, dips, chips and drinks thanks to Maureen, Hilary and Jolana for organising the provisions for the afternoon. 7pm the bell tolls and all characters were ready for photos on the stairwell, then off to canapés and sparkling wine in the chapel, Cash Steal offering a feel of the package in his trousers to anyone willing to touch the rolled up face cloth. Cash complained how uncomfortable it was to be a man. The host lost his teeth knocking over glasses of champagne on the tray he was holding after a feel. Big Jim Ravioli opened the night’s event, the lights went out, gunshot, lights back on, Big Jim is dead on the floor with his 19yr old new bride mourning over him, starting the night’s events with bribery, accusations, laughter and new alliances. During a 3 course meal the party continued and affairs were revealed. Affiliations contrived, all trying to work out who was the murderer with our host, also dressed for the occasion, supervising the proceedings. As the night progressed and far too much food/drink consumed, the murderer identified, it was time to go to bed as we were all exhausted, full and a little happy we all retired to our rooms except for Madam Me Me who was looking for a party somewhere in the building with a bottle of white wine and glass in hand, sorry Me Me we were shattered (NZ for stuffed). Gossip:Is Al Capone gay sleeping with Cash Steal? How did Congressman Darrin Toosteal manage to keep two affairs going and a wife. Baroness Ravioli was sleeping with her son? Thank you again to everyone for making the overnighter a successful event, onto the next one, any suggestions always welcomed by Kath. If you haven’t had the opportunity to get down to Morgan and Wacker on one of the Saturdays so far this month, then please try to get there on the 28th of July at the latest. We don’t want to lose you as I am sure the new committee will plan another fantastic year ahead of fun and fellowship with all the activities we enjoy that makes Brisbane HOG the Club to be part of. Please be aware that there is a small price penalty to your renewal should you not make it to us sometime during the month of July. A big welcome is extended to all our new members inducted this month. I was away enjoying an awesome Ladies of Harley of weekend, so I wasn’t able to attend the Saturday briefing with our new provisional members this month. I have heard that we had another good sized group who have commenced their short journey of the four small commitments shown on your orange card into becoming a Brisbane HOG member. Welcome to you all too, and hope you enjoy your experience with us. Our Club AGM is at the end of August meeting, so please ensure all renewals are completed by this date, both your HOG International if it is due, and your Club membership. If you have only renewed your international recently, and your updated card has not been received, then you may still be on the inactive list. In this instance, please remember to bring along your proof of subscription payment to be able to vote for your new Committee. All members who have applied for their Brisbane year patches will be presented with these at the AGM. If you haven’t yet put in your application and have been a club member for 5, 10, 15 or 20 years please e-mail me at membershipofficer@brisbanehog.com.au with the date you joined. Ride safely everyone and see you all soon. Cheers, Vicki Brisbane HOG Membership Recognition Patches Brisbane HOG provides its members with a set of patches that recognises the number of years of CLUB membership – i.e. 5, 10, 15 etc. To obtain your free patch, we need to know the date that you joined Brisbane HOG. Our aim will be to ensure everyone enjoys the weekend and that volunteer roles limited to short periods only. I’d also like to again make a special mention of BHOG members who have agreed to be our Major sponsors in addition to Morgan and Wacker. Jim Galway from Metal Recyclers; Gerry & Kerry Vanderneut – Vanderneut Concrete and Mark Shaw – Shaw Hedger & Associates. Thank you so very much to all. In addition, Scott and Corale Hodgson have agreed to run the Bike Games and they have come up with a great selection for the rally. Look forward to seeing you all on the next ride, Tezza Brisbane Harley Owners Newsletter 31 HOGWASH July 2012 Safety Officer’s Report T o have so many chapter members attend our monthly ride this month due to the fantastic weather made it a gr8 ride!! I think you would agree that Sam and his team did a great job and the route and scenery was perfect for the weather we enjoyed. Nothing surpasses attending motorcycle rider safety training at regular intervals and no one plans to have a motorcycle accident, but if it does happen what can you do to be better prepared? Beyond the basics of wearing an approved helmet, protective clothing, and maintaining your HD, there are other things you can do to increase your chances of getting through such an ordeal. Some simple tips you can do to make accident survival easier for you and everyone trying to help you includes the acronym ‘I.C.E.’ which stands for ‘In Case of Emergency’ and all first responders are being trained in this. The rationale behind it is that most people have a mobile phone. So to increase your survival chances simply add a new contact ‘ICE’. Then fill out all the fields for who should be contacted (other than anyone who may be your pillion of course). You may also include any ongoing medical issues, medications you are on, and other relevant information in the ‘Notes’ field. This provides the ambos and police with immediate information for your care. Make sure that you have full insurance coverage which includes you, your pillion (if applicable), your bike, your trailer (if applicable) and any accessories you may have added on. A reputable insurance company that knows motorcycles is also something to consider. Despite the ongoing support from our dealer who supplies a breakdown vehicle for our monthly chapter rides you still need to ride to and from. Without roadside assistance towing your bike can be astronomical! It’s also a good idea to ensure that it is a company that specializes in motorcycles. If everything has gone pear-shaped the last thing you need is to find that your bike has not been tied down properly - especially if it is/was a minor ding to begin with?! As I have mentioned before there is no doubt that the chapter’s main activity, namely riding Harley’s, is a ‘risky’ activity - which is arguably part of the thrill - but as the saying goes,... ’if I have to explain you wouldn’t understand’. That is not to say we are careless or irresponsible, so at the minimum some training in CPR and a good first aid kit are some simple things to do to help prepare for whatever might happen. You may never need to use first aid but if something does happen you can provide critical care when it’s need most. Our Chapter LOH representative, Kathy Thompson, can help you with both of these tips as she is a professional in this field. I’m not meaning to put the wind up anyone but as you may have learnt in the Scouts or Guides - ‘Be Prepared’. A Techniques Course is being scheduled for August and I will advise the date as soon as it is available - if, by the time this is published, I haven’t done so already. That’s it from me for this month. Harley Riding - The More You Know, the Better it Gets. Ciao, Singer Roadside assistance is also another good idea. 32 Brisbane Harley Owners Newsletter July 2012 HOGWASH Brisbane Harley Owners Newsletter 33 HOGWASH July 2012 Harley Owners Group – Tasmania Chapter Come join us for the 2013 Tasmanian State Rally being held in New Norfolk, in the picturesque Derwent Valley – The Valley of Love Friday 1st February 2013 – Sunday 3 February 2013 New Norfolk District Football Club, 21 Back River Road, New Norfolk, Tas 7140 Registrations are now open – see www.hogtasmania.org.au for your registration form and lots of information to make sure you make your trip to Tasmania is an unforgettable experience. Brisbane Harley Owners Newsletter 37 HOGWASH 38 July 2012 Brisbane Harley Owners Newsletter July 2012 HOGWASH Ride Rules These rules have been implemented to keep our rides safe & have the pack arrive at our destination as a group. Please take time to read them: • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • Your bike must be in a road worthy condition. Make sure you arrive with a full tank of fuel. Don’t be late; we leave at the scheduled departure time. Please pay attention to the Safety/Ride brief. Never pass the ‘Ride Captain’, Red bandanna on right arm. Ride in the same lane as ‘Ride Captain’ on multi lane highways. Ride in staggered formation, never ride side by side. Fill gaps in stagger by moving forward, never fill gaps by moving directly left or right. Once in staggered formation, stay in either left or right wheel track. On winding or narrow roads, ride in single file, use your normal cornering technique & give plenty of space to bike in front. If you break down, stay with your bike in clear view of Tail End Charlie’s (TEC’s) & back up vehicle. Make a clear signal to them if you require assistance. If you are a solo rider, stop for break down to offer a lift if needed. First Aid kits are carried with the Safety Officer & in the back up vehicle. Our rides are prepared by ‘Ride Captains’ as their way of sharing a favourite destination with fellow HOGS, IT IS NOT A RACE! Take your time, enjoy the day with your HOG family. Remember, the TEC’s & backup vehicle will always be behind you! Failure to follow ride rules and to ride in an unsafe or irresponsible manner could see the offending rider/s asked to leave the ride. Corner Marker Guidelines The reason for corner markers is to ensure the group stays on the ride route, and has plenty of warning of any deviation or clarification of the road being ridden. If we all follow these basic guidelines, our system will not fail and all riders will arrive at the same destination in the best possible time. • • • • • • The corner marker will be the rider immediately behind the ‘Ride Captain’. Leave a double space to give time to react to the Ride Captains signal. The rider will be alert for the ‘Ride Captain’s’ signal & to stop where indicated. Once the corner marker is safely positioned he will indicate the direction of the ride by pointing and using the appropriate turn signal. The rider or pillion will not remove helmet or any riding gear. They must be ready to move on immediately, when signalled by TEC (ORANGE VEST). The TEC’s will not stop for you! You must be ready to go once signalled. In the case of a major delay, the back up TEC will ride ahead and advise of delay. These guidelines are provided for information to enhance overall safety and ride enjoyment. Ultimately you are responsible for exercising your own judgment and making your own decisions whilst riding your Harley. Remember our motto, “Ride & Have Fun”. We are members of BRISBANE HOG for the enjoyment of riding our Harleys & sharing the fun!
