Two years on from their spectacular success with ‘Ian
Paice & Friends’,
DrumWright are organising another mega-bash for
charity.
Entitled ‘Rock of Ages’, the event will be a showcase of some of the UK’s top drummers, all giving their
services for free – and bringing some great guest musicians with them. Drummers firmly committed
include:
CLEM CATTINI – legendary drummer with ‘The Tornados’, the first British band to top the charts in
the UK and USA simultaneously, 1962. The drummer on no less than 47 chart toping singles, Clem is
widely regarded as one of Britain’s finest session drummers, on this occasion playing with The Rock
Masters.
BOB HENRIT – One of the UK’s most respected rock drummers (Adam Faith & The Roulettes, Argent,
The Kinks) – AND - HE WILL BE BRINGING EX ARGENT GUITARIST JOHN VERITY & EX SHADOWS BASS
PLAYER MARK GRIFFITHS WITH HIM.
BOBBY ORR – In his 80th year, Bobby’s playing credits include Shirley Bassey, Pat Boone, Bing Crosby,
Sammy Davis, Billy Eckstein, Benny Goodman, Ted heath & Tommy Steele. One of the finest jazz and
session drummers the UK has ever produced.
RIC LEE – playing with Woodstock veterans Ten Years After.
BRIAN BENNETT - legendary drummer with the Shadows for nearly 50 year’s and one of the UK’s
top composers, conductors and arrangers.
JOHNNY MARTER - top session drummer playing with deep purple tribute band The Purple Project.
PLUS LOADS OF OTHER SPECIAL GUESTS & SPECTACULAR RAFFLE , the first prize in
which will be a Mapex Saturn drum kit as used by Will Calhoun of 90’s rock legends ‘Living Colour’ on
his 2007 UK tour. The kit comes in Canary yellow and comprises 20” & 18” bass drums, 8/10/12
mounted toms and 14” and 16” floor toms. The kit has a retail value of £2500, but its value is greatly
enhanced by the fact that Will has personally signed the inside of the shells.

The event will be held at the Rivermead Leisure Centre, Richfield Avenue,
Reading, RG1 8EQ on Thursday 28th February 2008, 8pm (doors 7pm).
The charity that will benefit on this occasion is ‘Music For All’, which is the charitable
arm of the UK’s Music Industries Association, whose mission is ‘creating and encouraging music making’
