STEPHANIE DAVIS
Montana Singer-Songwriter
Most western music enthusiasts would list Stephanie
Davis as one of the best, if not the best, of the genre's songwriters of today. Garth Brooks thought so much of her
haunting verse and melody that he recorded six of her
songs and had Stephanie join him on tour. Her songs
have also been recorded by Martina McBride, Maria
Muldaur, Roger Wittaker, Don Edwards, Trisha Yearwood, Sam Moore, and many others. Stephanie was also
featured in Hal Cannon's PBS documentary, "Why The
Cowboy Sings." "Up until a few years ago I was one of those who thought that all the
great western songs had been written, but that was before I met
Stephanie Davis..."
Don Edwards
“...a reflection of the very best in American music of and from its
enigmatic West.”
Thom Jurek (allmusic.com)
“... songs, beautifully written, most of them being little masterpieces of
musical narrative...”
George Graham
“...an exceptional talent...a fantastic songwriter...”
Darrell Arnold (Cowboy Magazine)
A fourth-generation Montanan, Stephanie is a frequent performer on Garrison Keillor's "A Prairie Home Companion", and at cowboy poetry gatherings and festivals
throughout the country. She has six titles on her label, Recluse Records. The latest
CDs, “Western Bling” and “Western Bliss”, are both part of a series, with more to
come. Also, a new all- original CD is in the works. To learn more, please visit:
