ETWORK INTERNATIONAL N S NEW TER LET June 2011 INTERNATIONAL NETWORK italy PITTI UOMO Grazia has confirmed its participation in the June edition of Pitti Uomo in Florence with its Uomo (Men’s) special insert. For that occasion, Grazia Italy interviewed an exceptional athlete: tennis star Feliciano Lopez. The athlete turned model for a day, who interpreted the magazine’s menswear style, told readers all about his favourite styles and personal care treatments. GRAZIA AT PITTI BIMBO Grazia was one of the top magazines of Pitti Bimbo 73, the international childrenswear expo, with the second edition of Grazia Junior directed by Editor-in-chief Vera Montanari. In cooperation with Pitti Immagine, Mondadori also organized the talk show “La felicità dei bambini” (Children’s Happiness). Presented by Angelo Sajeva, President and CEO of Mondadori Pubblicità, and hosted by Vera Montanari and Donna Moderna Co-editor Cipriana Dall’Orto, the talk show welcomed professionals of the fashion industry and special guests to discuss important issues and topics involving children. The event was made possible through a precious contribution of The Heart of Children, a non-profit organization that collects funds to operate and assist young heart patients in third world and developing countries. To celebrate this important event, Grazia launched a contest that offered tickets for the fashion show that ESMOD organized in Paris on June 30 to celebrates its birthday. Two lucky readers of Grazia participating in the online contest at grazia.fr had a chance to attend the show and buy tote bags customized by Jean Paul Gaultier, whose proceeds were donated to the Carla BruniSarkozy Foundation. Color Block Party! The event organized by Grazia France at Hotel Amour on June 29 was sensational! Two hundred guests attended the party for this annual event that wants to say “thank you” to its advertisers and media agencies. It was an excellent occasion for celebrating the arrival of summer with a room full of colours in respect of the requested colour block dress code! INTERNATIONAL NETWORK holland L U F R U O L O C N O I T I D E R Q After the huge success of its first QR edition in February with the ‘singing cover’, Grazia has released another QR code-issue. In this issue, called the “colourful edition” since it celebrated the positive aspects of Holland’s melting pot society with various cultures and backgrounds, anyone who scans the code can hear popular Dutch pop star Glennis Grace singing an acoustic version of Beyoncé’s ‘Halo’. In this special edition you can find 23 QR-codes that will link you to different sites, including an online shop where you can buy Kate Middleton’s dress. You also get a sneak peak of The Next Generation: 19 creative talents who bring their mixed cultural backgrounds to their daily jobs. The edition has received great press coverage. The number of positive impressions regarding the cover has increased by 280% compared to the last “singing” cover. INTERNATIONAL NETWORK MIDDLE EAST This month Grazia Middle East had another hugely successful cover story. At the start of the month Grazia Middle East announced the launch of Lily Allen and Sarah Owen’s collection, Lucy in Disguise. A week later they arrived in Dubai for their regional launch, and Grazia had the exclusive opportunity to photograph and interview the girls. Then, a week later, Lily Allen tied the knot to long-term beau Sam Cooper and we captured all her fashion moments. This, plus a three-page special of A-list bridal fashion, provided all of the wedding belles amongst readers with plenty of fashion fixes. This year, Grazia suggested two looks: evening and cruise wear! Top ten finalists chosen by the jury will have a chance to present their work at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia in October. This year GRAZIA has expanded the event: finalists will also participate in the Aurora Fashion Week in Saint Petersburg, for which Grazia has created a special category, “Inspired by Saint Petersburg.” The Jury will choose several creations that best express the spirit of the northern capital. Partners of the initiative are PHILIPS, MercedesBenz Fashion Week, World Fashion Channel and the “Pervoe Popularnoe” radio station. Winners of a quiz organized by Grazia had a chance to attend the party featuring a fashion show, a Body & Soul model’s contest, and games!!
