Application Requirements
Scholarships for Enrollment in
the Lineman Career Development
Curriculum (2)
...Because they put it all on the line every day.
Mission Statement
Since the inception of the Fallen
Linemen Foundation, the primary
goal of this organization has been to
support the linemen, and their families,
of our utility industry.The organization
has engaged in fundraising efforts
to enable the foundation to provide
financial support to electric utility
linemen injured while on the job
and/or supporting organizations and
institutions.
Scholarship Program
Through fundraising efforts, the
Fallen Linemen Foundation has
established a scholarship program
for students entering into the
Electrical Lineman Program and
for children of linemen to reflect
their belief in education and career
development, and be a giving
member of the linemen fraternity.
Scholarship funds will assist with
tuition, fees, books and other
related expenses.
Three $1,000 scholarships will
be offered to qualifying students,
that are children of linemen,
to pursue their education in a
secondary school, and two $1,000
scholarships will be offered to
qualifying students enrolled in an
Electrical Lineman Program.
1. Must be a permanent resident of North
Carolina
2. Must complete the application for this
scholarship
3. Must have a high school diploma from an
accredited school or GED equivalent
4. The applicant cannot be a close relative of a
Foundation Board member
5. Must be in good physical condition and
physically able to climb utility poles
6. Must be committed to the program on a full
time basis or already enrolled in the program
7. Must be accompanied by an Instructor
Recommendation
8. Criteria for evaluation:
Academic
Performance (50%), Need (40%) and
Community Service (10%)
Scholarships for Children of Linemen
Regardless of their Career Path (3)
1. Must be a permanent resident of North
Carolina
2. Must have completed a Free Application for
Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application
3. Must complete the application for this
scholarship
4. Must be a high school senior or have a high
school diploma from an accredited school or
GED equivalent and must have applied to a
college or university.
5. The applicant cannot be a close relative of a
Foundation Board member
6. Must be enrolled full-time
7. Must provide copy of transcript
