The Travelling Quartet is an original string ensemble comprising two violins,
a cello and a double bass. These four musicians have decided to cross over
from their classical background to a very new repertoire with... the Beatles !
What was the secret of the Beatles’ phenomenal success ? Certainly in their
incredible power to innovate, their genius combination to create. The Beatles
made a difference, changed it all ! As inspired and vibrant as always, the
Beatles have touched the souls of millions, even after over four decades. Their
melodies have been adapted to all kinds of musical genres, including jazz,
salsa or classical music. The Fab Four and the magical chemistry of Lennon
and McCartney have changed the way we make music. A string quartet is a very delicate balance of four instrumental voices, a
perfect blend of sounds that bloom with the Beatles’ music. Thanks to their
close relationship with their arranger friends, the Travelling Quartet have
defined an exclusively fine-tuned repertoire. Each of the six artist arrangers
was given carte blanche to bring us their interpretation of these successful
songs. Thanks to the Beatles’ musical richness, imagination is limitless...

Jean-Michel Kajdan
The guitarist Jean-Michel Kajdan, this self taught musician, developed for himself a
distinctive modern rock style while playing in local Parisian bands. First album
“First Step” in 1979 with Manu Katché and Didier Lockwood. Prominent
artists:Jacques Higelin, Michel Jonasz, Eddy Mitchell, to name a few. He recorded the soundtracks for
the movies “Subway”, “Kamikaze”, & “The Big Blue”. Studio recordings with : Tony Williams, Jan
Hammer, Bob Malach (USA), Gerry Brown, David Sancious (USA), Alfonso Johnson (USA), Babik
Reinhardt, Barry Finnerty, Abraham Laboriel, Steve Gadd, Max Middleton (UK), Tommy Snyder
(Japan), Toots Thielmans (Belgium), NHOP (Denmark), John Mc Laughlin (UK), Gordon Beck (UK),
André Ceccarelli and Dee Dee Bridgwater (USA). In 1997, further to his performances on tour with
Lionel Richie (for TV & radio) & Omar Hakim on drums, Jean-Michel toured with Eddie Louiss and
played with Larry Carlton at the Montreux Jazz Festival. In 2003, he performed with Gaïa and
Jeremy Spencer (Fleetwood Mac), John Helliwell and Roger Hodgson (Supertramp), Justin Hayward
(Moody Blues) and produced the first album of SKYE “Impressionnable” and her new album
“Appaloosa” released in 2007.

Michel Coeuriot dit des Beatles :

Arrangeur, réalisateur, compositeur, Michel Coeuriot a commencé sa
carrière au début des années 80 avec Michel Jonasz. Il commence à écrire « Joueur
de Blues », « Lucille », etc… et avec Claude Nougaro : « Plume d’Ange ». D’autres
arrangements suivent pour Louis Chédid, Françoise Hardy, Catherine Lara, Marc
Lavoine, Alain Souchon, Laurent Voulzy etc…
Thomas Coeuriot dit des Beatles :
« Tout comme Robert Johnson, Les Beatles ont certainement dû signer un
pacte avec le diable pour avoir composé autant de mélodies inoubliables en si
peu de temps».
Thomas Coeuriot commence le piano dès 4 ans. Il s’intéresse à la guitare puis étudie
le classique au conservatoire et le jazz avec Pierre Cullaz. Il accompagne en tournée
et collabore aux albums de : Jane Birkin, Marc Lavoine, Jean-Jacques Milteau, Henri
Salvador, Alain Souchon, Laurent Voulzy et Damien Saez.

Frank Eulry dit des Beatles :
« Pour fêter mes dix ans, un disque vinyle des Beatles a fait entrer en fanfare
la musique populaire dans ma maison où seuls les grands compositeurs de
musique «classique» avaient droit d’asile ; de ce jour et pour ma vie entière, la
musique s’est appelée LIBERTÉ ! ».
Frank Eulry découvre d’autres styles musicaux (jazz, rock, world...) après l’étude de
la musique classique. Il décide de se consacrer à la composition et à l’enregistrement
en studio. Il travaille avec des artistes français dont Jane Birkin, Jil Caplan, Jerho,
Nolwenn Leroy, Renaud, Alain Souchon, Laurent Voulzy.... Il compose la musique
du film de Jane Birkin «Boxes» (sélection officielle festival de Cannes 2007).
Jean Charles Guiraud dit des Beatles :
« Les Beatles, parce que les mamans n’ont pas toujours le temps de faire de la
Pop Music ».
Père pianiste, Jean Charles étudie pendant treize ans au CNSMP
(Solfège Spécialisé, Harmonie, Contrepoint, Fugue). Des plateaux de Télévision
(« Salut Manu Dibango »,« Fa-Si-La Chanter »…) à l’Olympia (Lio, Macias, Sirima
…), des Zéniths à la salle Pleyel avec « L’Orchestre Colonne », il s’efforce toujours
de servir au mieux la « cause » instrumentale avec passion.
Nicolas Guiraud dit des Beatles :
« C'est l'essence même de la Pop. »
Pianiste dès l'âge de 5 ans, initié par son père, pianiste
accompagnateur de la plupart des grands artistes français. Prix de solfège spécialisé
au CNSMP et percussionniste, il arrange pour Bald, Rodrigo Bay, Alain Souchon,
Roch Voisine et Laurent Voulzy. BO de film "On va s'aimer" (Réalisateur : Yvan
Calberac), tv (« Figaro » Réalisateur : Jacques Weber) et radio (Skip). Des jingles
pour Canal+, FUN Radio et RTL2.
Frédéric Sans dit des Beatles :
« Les Beatles, c’est cette formidable efficacité mélodique avec ce sentiment
d’évidence universelle, comme si ces
mélodies avaient toujours existé ».
Frédéric Sans, débute la musique à 5 ans en étudiant le piano et le violon. Il rentre au
CNSMP en solfège spécialisé puis en classe d’écriture et travaille comme arrangeur
et réalisateur pour divers artistes : Charles Aznavour, Gilbert Becaud, Rhiana
Benson, Liane Foly, Jalane, Malia, Pascal Obispo, Gino Vanneli.. Compositeur de
musique de films, téléfilms, et pub (café velours noir, l’Oréal, Parc Astérix, Volvo...).

Anne Gravoin Violin
Anne Gravoin has been awarded a violin and chamber music first prize at the
National Music Conservatoire of Paris. She has studied with Dominique Hoppenot,
Gérard Poulet and Myriam Solovieff. Member of the Menuhin
Foundation since 1986. Concerts as a soloist in 1985 at the Deux
Sevres Festival, in 1988 at the Gramont Festival. Solo violin of
the European Bow Ensemble since 1989, Outdoor Operas since
2006… On tour in Japan 1993, China 2000 & Latin America
2001. Solo violin of the Tours Orchestra between 2001 and 2004
and of the Awards Orchestra of the CNSM in 2003. Coaching of
actors for : feature films, tv films and theatrical productions. She
has recorded for the Comedie Française «The Liar» by Corneille in 2005… She has
accompanied many artists on stage such as Charles Aznavour, Kassav, Khaled, Marc
Lavoine, Nolwenn Leroy, Liza Minelli, Florent Pagny, Roch Voisine, Laurent
Voulzy, Damien Saez, Lalo Schiffrin, Pierre Boussaguet and Vladimir Cosma... Cofounder in 1986 with Véronique Fiszman of a violin-piano sonata titled «Sans
Tambour ni Trompette». More recently, a CD was recorded of a series of sonatas by
Mozart, Beethoven and Brahms and released under the «Régieorchestre» label
created in 2003.
David Braccini Violin
Further to his musical studies at the Bastia Music
Conservatory, David Braccini attended the Conservatoire
Supérieur de Paris where he was unanimously awarded a gold
medal in Huguette Déat's class. Soon after, his love for chamber
music lead him to found the Hölderlin Quartet, whilst training
with the Isaye Quartet. He finished his studies with Margarita
Karafilova at the Lausanne Conservatoire in Switzerland where
he was awarded an outstanding virtuoso first prize. He became
member of the European Union of Chamber Orchestra from 1996 to 2000 with
performances on a worldwide scale (Germany, Brazil, Italy, Great Britain, Middle
East and Asia). He plays in the most prestigious parisian symphonies and with
different ensembles including Harmonia Nova or Le Banquet where he is the soloist,
as well as the Pelléas Chamber Orchestra and the 2E2M ensemble. He is the solo
violinist and musical director of the Classik Ensemble since 2009. David Braccini is a
member of the Orchestre de Paris since april 2008.

Mathilde Sternat Cello
Mathilde Sternat has been awarded a cello and chamber music first prize at the National Music Conservatoire of Paris and finished her curriculum with additional studies in Chamber Music. In 1997 she recorded Luigi Boccherini’s complete quintets for two cellos with Roland Pidoux and Jean-­‐
Pierre Rampal. As a soloist she has been invited to perform with the Montpellier Symphony Orchestra and the Pasdeloup Concerts. She has performed in various venues with the Chamber Music Orchestra of Salzburg. Mathilde is quite versatile and has accompanied many artists on stage (Patrick Bruel, Elodie Frégé, Nolwenn Leroy, Mestari, Malia, Damien Saez, Michel Sardou, Pierre Boussaguet, Laurent Voulzy...) and recorded some of their albums as well. She has composed for the theatre and writes string arrangements on a regular basis, more specifically for quartet.
Vincent Pasquier Double Bass
Vincent Pasquier is a double bass soloist for the Paris Orchestra,
professor at the Paris CNR, concertist and composer. He has
been awarded double bass first prize at the National Music
Conservatoire of Paris studying with Jean-Marc Rollez. He has
been awarded International Performance prizes in Geneva in
1983, Markneunkirchen in 1985 and Reims in 1988. He has
played recitals and « Masters Classes » in Finland, The
Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Italy, North Korea, the United
States and France. He regularly appears with Gilles Apap, Christian Zacharias,
Augustin Dumay, Maria Jao Pires, Gérard Caussé, Raphaël Oleg, Vadim Répin,
Schlomo Mintz, Jean François Heisser, Brigitte Engerer, the Wanderer trio, the
Cherubini, Ysaÿe and Sine Nomine quartets, the Paris Bastille octet, Michel Portal,
Christian Rivet and Laurent Korcia. A solo CD released by Maguelone of Franz
Schubert’s Arpeggione sonata, Fryba and Kodaly. A CD released by Auvidis of «The
History of Soldier» of Stravinsky featuring Gérard Depardieu, Carole Bouquet,
Schlomo Mintz and Pascal Moragues.
