Jackie grew up in rural New Zealand and developed a
love of the outdoors and travelling. Her previous careers
were in nursing and photography, but roaming the hills of
the NT with her beloved spaniel, Fergus, convinced her
that there's nothing quite like putting one foot in front of the
other. Jackie runs our photography tours.

After crossing the spectacular and vibrant business district, we ride
the Peak Tram (funicular railway) to commence our walk to the
scenic, quieter side of Hong Kong. We will enjoy magnificent
views over Victoria Harbour, Kowloon Peninsula, the New
Territories, the South China Sea and its many islands. Our path
leads us through shaded forests and glades to the colourful and
bustling port of Aberdeen.
(Shek O Country Park)
This trail was hailed by TIME as Asia’s best urban hike “the city’s finest and most surprising ramble”.
Our hike explores the serene and beautiful countryside on the
eastern side of Hong Kong Island. The path takes us through
bamboo groves, woodland and open hills often covered with
wild azaleas or rose myrtle. The ridge of the Dragon’s Back
offers us a breath-taking panorama of coastline and distant
islands. By looking back we take in Tai Tam reserviors, Stanley
and Red Hill peninsula.
Our journey starts at the
colourful fishermen’s quay in Aberdeen, where we take a slow
ferry to Lamma, giving us good views of southern Hong Kong
Island. We follow a coastal path on this peaceful, traffic-free,
island before ascending a hillside for majestic views. After visiting
an atmospheric Tin Hau Temple, we stop for a seafood lunch in
Sok Kwu Wan. A scenic walk brings us to the interesting alley
ways of Yung Shue Wan, from where we take the fast ferry back
to Hong Kong Island.
Cove area in the northeast of the New Territories is one of the
most under populated and pristine areas in all of Hong Kong.
Our hike takes us to the remote countryside of rolling hills, long
valleys, beautiful coastlines and isolated Feng Shui woodlands
protecting old villages. A wonderful, less explored, part of Hong
Kong. Ideal for hiking. We also experience exciting views across
the boundary into Mainland China.
(Sai Kung West Country Park)
“Here one experiences only the mountain tops and the sky”
This trail is part of the famous 100km MacLehose hiking trail,
running east to west in the New Territories. Ma On Shan, called
Horse Saddle Mountain by locals, is the second highest peak in
the New Territories at 702 metres. Our hike starts at sea level.
After exploring one of the abandoned villages at the base of the
mountain we hike through lush green subtropical forest and dense
exotic vegetation, coming out at the low shrubland. Our hike ends
in the charming fishing town of Sai Kung.
