DS 7 – Plan and develop IDR as one integrated global node of Singapore and Indonesia. 22 DS 8 – Manage Regional Growth Especially in the Periphery of IDR DS 9 – Plan for innovative and sustainable infrastructure and utilities. 23 DS 10 – Encourage Planned Communities within a liveable neighbourhood. 24 INCENTIVES IN IDR Types of Incentives in IDR Existing Incentives Customised Incentive • These are existing tax incentives offered to various industries and approved activities • For investors who meet prerequisite criteria set out by MIDA and/or MOF • These incentives are enacted in the Promotion of Investments Act (PIA) 1986 as well as through various gazette orders pursuant to Section 127 of Income Tax Act • Common ones are Investment Tax Allowance (ITA), Reinvestment Allowance (RA) and Pioneer Status, etc • Bilateral in nature (based on request and consultation) with no specific guidelines • Customised based ultimately on the projected net economic benefit enjoyed from the investment Initial ISP in IDR • Recently announced by YAB Prime Minister • Designed to encourage or kick-start early investment into IDR focusing on the targeted 6-services based sectors at designated nodes • Incentives are:1. Corporate tax exemption for 10 years 2. Exemption from FIC ruling 3. Allow to source capital globally 4.
