Executive chef JC Pina is bringing the flavors from his hometown of Mexico City to Cafe Ynez, which specializes in breakfast sandwiches, Mexican coffee and rotisserie chicken. 2025 Washington Ave., 215-278-7579, www.cafeynez.com Crow & the Pitcher Chef Alex Capasso has officially made the transition over the Ben Franklin Bridge, from the now-closed Blackbird in Collingswood to Crow & the Pitcher in Center City. Nothing on the menu at the new digs is over $25, and there’s a temperature-controlled cheese room for dairy aficionados. The cheese service will be rolled out in carts formerly used by Georges Perrier at Le Bec-Fin. This bilevel space with exposed brick and a rustic vibe offers small and large plates, plus dishes made for two to share, including a dry-aged Berkshire pork chop. Now Marquis is taking her food philosophy a step further with a bar that serves up vegan cocktails with a focus on infused concoctions. They gave their 10-year-old Mexican gem a total revamp, adding a 16-seat bar and a chef’s counter facing an open kitchen. More importantly, they got their hands on a liquor license, so you can stop in for a margarita made with freshly squeezed fruit and veggie juices.
