Dear Families,
I hope you all had a great Cup Day and backed a winner, all
families taking a sudden holiday, we know you did!!
Kanga 8 Cricket
Unfortunately the Kanga 8 cricket which was to be held at the
Nathalia Reserve on Wednesday, November 7th, had to be postponed
due to the weather.
This Friday our school will be very busy attending two events
happening in our community.
Community Reading Day
Our junior classes will be participating in the Nathalia Early
Years Community Reading Day again this year and enjoy the wonderful
story books being shared by many of local business people. We
encourage students to dress up in their costume for the day
representing their favourite story book of all time. At the end of the
morning of reading students will be joining in a brief BBQ at St Francis
where they will be able to have a sausage in bread. We hope to see lots
of families joining the morning of reading as our small groups of
children move around the businesses in town listening to a variety of
picture story books.

Remembrance Day
Also on Friday we have the
community Remembrance Day
Ceremony held at the Memorial Park.
Each year our grade 5 & 6 students
attend this service representing our
school.
It is imperative that FULL
SCHOOL UNIFORM is worn when we
are publicly representing the school.
Our School Captains will also lay
flowers at the service as a sign of
respect and remembrance of those
who have fought for our Country over
many years, many not returning to
their families. I hope to see many of
you there.

School Staffing
I would like t o
congratulate Mrs Falk on her
successful appointment to a
position at another school
starting 2013.
During her 2 years at
Nathalia she has contributed
significantly to our programs
by picking up the challenge of
co-ordinating many of our
sporting events.
Mrs Falk has also
ensured our Aboriginal
students have been able to
experience many activities
and has been committed to
providing opportunities for
each of them to learn more
about their culture, food and
events.
Thank you, and again,
congratulations Cathy.
It is never my goal to
present our school community
with a one sided situation,
therefore I would also like to
welcome Melanie Sezun to the
staff of Nathalia Primary
School beginning 2013.
I know Melanie is very
excited and intends to make a
few visits between now and
the end of the year, Miss
Sezun will be a great asset to
our teaching staff.
Vicki Mc Manus,
Principal.

2013 Class Structures
Thank you to those
parents who have placed
requests for student
placements in 2013. Just a
reminder that this Friday is the
last day for us to have these
submitted.
As
previously
mentioned, we will ensure all
requests are taken into
account when the structure of
class groups is decided,
however we are not able to
make any guarantees around
requests made.

ater Safety Program
Planning is underway
for our water safety sessions,
to be held in December on the
10th, 11th, 13th, 17th and
18th. During the times from
11.00am and 12.30pm these
dates and times are still to be
confirmed.
Our Fun Day will be on
Thursday, December 20th.
For this program to run
successfully, we are requesting assistance from parents to
act as helpers at the pool and
walkers to and from the school
and pool.
Should you be able to
assist us please contact the
school office.
Cathy Falk.
L
ost property
As the weather
warms up and year draws to a
close our lost property is again
overflowing (with un-named
items) and I would encourage
parents to take the time to
come and look through it.
Over the next 2 weeks,
any unclaimed items will be
d o n at e d t o t h e l oc a l
opportunity shop.

W
aste Wise
Our school is a Waste Wise
School.
We encourage the children to have as few
wrappers as possible in their lunch boxes.
Sandwiches and snacks in re-useable zip lock
bags or small containers is encouraged. For the
healthiest lunches, processed snacks should be
restricted and fruit and vegetable sticks be
encouraged.
Congratulations to 1/2W with a total of
only 9 wrappers for the whole grade.
Congratulations to 1/2W with 13 out of 19
students having zero waste.
