programs
Food rescue and hunger relief: More than 19 million pounds of food that might
otherwise have gone to waste has been rescued from grocery stores, wholesalers,
restaurants and hotels. Rescued food is made into nutritious meals that are delivered by
a team of 700 volunteers to 70 social services agencies in central Indiana. More than
7 million meals have been delivered to date, half of which went to children.
Culinary job training: A free 10-week intensive training course helps unemployed and
underemployed people learn the skills they need to be successful culinary professionals.
Each student is eligible for six credit hours toward a culinary arts degree from Ivy Tech
Community College.
fundraiser
The Corks & Forks gala in April raised more than $200,000. Tonic Ball 12 will be
held Nov. 22 at three venues in Fountain Square.
