Rudy. Zośka. Alek. The heroes of the Grey Ranks.
The tale about youth, love and friendship. About heroism at a great cost and about
the fight which passed into a legend. They were young, they fell in love and wanted
to live life to the full. Nothing seemed impossible.
One day, their world fell apart; they had to abandon their dreams. The only choice
they had: either bow down in humility or put their own life on the line. In spite of
lacking experience and weapons, they found inner courage and strength to rise
against the Nazi occupants. They believed in the power of friendship, freedom and
Poland. They clung to noble ideals. They were like “stones thrown by God for the
ramparts”…

Mela and Przemek come to Warsaw to keep an eye on their uncle’s apartment. The place turns out to be not only luxurious, but
also unusual. While delving into the history of the house, Mela
discovers that at 17 Piusa Street – today’s Piękna Street – there
was a German embassy before the war. An elevator in the building not only moves people from floor to floor, but also enables
them to travel back in time: from August 2012 to August 1939.

Thomas is a writer-director of a new play, an adaptation of the 1870 novel Venus in
Furs by Austrian author Leopold von Sacher-Masoch. Alone in a Parisian theatre
after a day of auditioning actresses for the lead character, Wanda von Dunayev,
Thomas laments on the phone of the poor performances to come through. As he is
preparing to leave the theatre, an actress named Vanda arrives disheveled. In a
whirlwind of energy and unrestrained aggression, Vanda convinces the director to
let her read for the part. To Thomas’s amazement, Vanda shows great understanding of the character and knows every line by heart. As the audition progresses, the
intensity is redoubled and the attraction of Thomas turns into obsession.

MEET US AT
POLISH PAVILION
There are secrets too terrible to ever come to light... What should
possibly happen to transform an ordinary man into a killer?
In this film adaptation of the best-selling crime novel by Zygmunt Miłoszewski, the
killer is tracked down by the cynical detective Smolar and the uncompromising
female prosecutor Agata Szacka. The duo forms an explosive mixture, not only due
to their temperaments, but also the love affair they had in the past. Szacka, in the
course of the most challenging in her career investigation, touches upon the stories
circulating for years as legends, which no one expected might be true. Do the secrets
hidden for years come to light by accident, or maybe they are cleverly controlled by
someone?

MEET US AT
POLISH PAVILION
Set in the tumultuous 1960s, this is the story of a dangerous
emotional game between an acclaimed writer, his beautiful
young wife and her lover.
A well-known writer has an affair with a beautiful and much younger woman. In
spite of popular indignation caused by the differences in age, material wealth and
social status, he marries this attractive „girl from nowhere”. Blinded by his emotions,
he doesn’t suspect that their relationship may not be a coincidence. What he doesn’t
know is that his woman has secretly been seeing another man, with whom she shares
not only a great passion, but also a dangerous intrigue. An erotic fascination with her
lover gradually transforms into deeper feelings, although the young woman is aware
that she is nothing but an accessory in an organized plot of the secret service.

MEET US AT
POLISH PAVILION
At 9.37pm on 2 April 2005, millions of Poles switched off the lights at their
homes in an unprecedented gesture of unity. This released an exceptional
potential of emotional energy. At that particular moment, even miracles were
possible. Three minutes mark a turning point in the protagonists’ lives. A
sensitive young man who cannot accept the violence that surrounds him and
turns to violence himself. A film director who no longer wants to make movies and falls for his English teacher instead of grabbing the opportunity for
a major international co-production. A painter trapped in a situation with no
way out. A father who tries to protect his son from his own past. Those three
minutes will bring their fates together.

Police Inspector , a man on the brink of mental disintegration, is investigating a murder case. It seems that the crime was committed by someone of
the victim’s closest circle. Yet the criminal cleverly covers up his tracks, tangles the leads up and provokes sensual experiences and flashbacks. Artistic
blend of image, sound and music will engross the viewer into the deepest
recesses of Marek’s consciousness. The viewer will face the question of what
is real and what is phantasmagoric, where is the line between reality and
our representation of it, and – finally – what gives meaning to suffering and
what is truly important in life.
