WERC is a division of The Eco-Domes, LLC Visit our facilities at 9121 CR 23, Brainerd, MN. 218 764 2321 Our WERC includes: Designing environmentally responsible buildings, Consulting/training on energy/water/building technologies, Construction project planning and management, Energy audits/calculations, Storm Water/Septic Audits Construction of Environmentally Responsible Buildings, Wind Turbines, Solar Electric, Solar Heating, Geothermal, Bio-Fuel Energy Systems, Drinking Water Systems, Composting Toilets, Rainwater Gardening, Pond Gardening, and Greywater Irrigation WE CAN WE HELP IN YOUR BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AND PROJECT SUCCESS WERC designs sustainable buildings, renewable energy systems, installs sustainable technologies for your team and train team members on: solar electric (photovoltaic), solar hot water heating systems, wind turbines, geothermal, composting toilets, and sustainable agriculture (permaculture, green houses, root cellars, etc). We help create jobs in these sectors, connect to sustainable living philosophy, provide significant economic and environmental benefits for our customers. Our team consults with builders, owners, architects, engineers and contractors about environmentally responsible buildings and systems for energy generation. We can also help find funding for projects from state and federal government agencies, foundations, power companies, etc. Good Building Plans • Water plans are the first step – Pavement, Septic, Roof runoff, Domestic • Keeping the building dry underground – Drainage around foundation and under slabs • Choosing Green Building Systems/Materials – Healthy air, life span, recycled/recyclable • Energy strategies and technologies in all steps – Sizing KWH and BTU loads, Energy 10 BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS NEED DRAINAGE Geothermal Energy (Heating and Cooling) GEOTHERMAL HVAC (Heating Ventilating Air Conditioning USING GEOTHERMAL TO HEAT AND COOL ALL BUILDINGS. GEOTHERMAL IS ACTUALLY SOLAR POWER: STORED SUNLIGHT ENERGY 200’ DEEP BUILDING ENVELOPE INSULATION, VENTILATION Inside the Eco-Domes we have a gray water irrigation system. A greenhouse greywater research system will be installed in 2006 White Bear Racquet and Swim Club - Geothermal Fred Downing’s Solar – Geothermal Home in White Bear Lake Inverter handling 3600 watts per hour. Grid-tied, no batteries ELMER ARSENEAU FARM, BY ALBANY, 140’ tower Producing 26,000 kwh/year ALVER & DARLENE SCHLANGEN BY ROSCOE: Installed in November 2004: Producing about 2500 kwh/month LARRY AND CAROL GLASSMAN WIND TURBINE INSTALLED IN OCTOBER 2004. TAX BENEFITS ARE THE GLASSMANS’ BIGGEST PAYBACK. THEY SAVED $7500 IN THE FIRST YEAR. ASSEMBLY OCCURS ON THE GROUND BEFORE TIP UP 120’ TOWER INSTALL IN ABOUT THREE WEEKS, INCLUDING EXCAVATION, FORMS, ANCHORS, CONCRETE, TURBINE ELECTRICAL AND TOWER TIP UP (WITH CRANE). CONCRETE MUST CURE FOR 30 DAYS PRIOR TO INSTALLATION. TOWER IS 120’, BASE IS ABOUT 14’ ON A SIDE, 90’ ft. sq. JASON EDENS AND RURAL RENEWABLE ENERGY ALLIANCE: RESIDENTIAL PHOTOVOLTAIC (PV) ELECTRIC SYSTEM Rooftop PV installation in St Cloud, MN RENEWABLE ENERGY INVESTMENT CONSIDERATIONS • • • • • Equipment value increases as rates go up Equipment will last for 50+ years Lifetime of free fuel is provided Minimal maintenance is required Owner gets an increase in income from electricity as the local power company rates increase • Federal, State and local incentives have increased (Grants, low interest loans, etc) POWER PRODUCTION • Net Metering: Local Power Utilities are required to pay small generators (>40kw) for their excess electricity based on the power companies average retail cooperative energy rates (ARCER). • “Green Tags” or renewable energy meter credits can be sold to brokers who are buying Carbon Tax exemptions from large corporations. • Federal Production Credit: A tax credit of 1.9 cents/kwh is based upon meter readings from wind turbine systems (extended until 2007).
