Primitive Reflexes - Symmetric Tonic Neck: Bow and Rock
Primitive Reflexes - Symmetric Tonic Neck: Bow and Rock Have your child sit back on his/her feet and calves while lowering their head between their knees with the. forehead touching the ground. Then have your child straighten their arms so the ears can just fit through the arms. Then have the child move their head and body together. As your child moves forward, they should lift their head and breathe in with their nose. Your child should come as far forward as he/she can. It is important to keep their arms stretched. Don't bend the arms. Keep weight on the arms, especially when coming up. It is important that you have your child move slowly so he/she will feel their arms stretch. After coming to a crawling position, have your child move backward down to the beginning position with the head between the knees while breathing out through the mouth. This should be a continuous movement back and forth for 3 minutes. Have your child do between 18 to 25 cycles during this period. Remind them to be aware pf their body and breathing during this movement.
