WOMEN`S CLUB OF GREATER RESTONWomen`s Club of Greater
Women’s Club of Greater Reston January 2014 GENERAL MEETING DATE: TIME: PLACE: Thursday, January 16 10:00 AM Historic Lake Anne Village Center Reston Community Center Lake Anne (Jo Ann Rose Gallery) January is resolution month! It’s the month when so many of us look to make changes. It could be to exercise more, eat better, or maybe lose weight. At our monthly meeting, Jessi Toye, a board-certified Life Coach and Food for Life Instructor for the Physician's Committee for Responsible Medicine, will join us. Jessi teaches nutrition classes at the Reston YMCA. She also gave demonstrations at the Herndon Farmer’s Market last summer. At our meeting she will not only talk with us about nutrition, but also do a live cooking demonstration. Come to the meeting to learn some new skills to lead a healthier life. We will even be able to taste the delicious, healthy dishes! What a great way to begin the New Year! Come to the January meeting -- learn something new, eat better, and meet Jessi. Charity Outreach At this month’s meeting, we will be collecting gently used coats, hats, scarves, and gloves. GET ACQUAINTED COFFEE Jo Ann Esposito 703-437-3996 The New Year is upon us and it appears this will be an interesting winter. Please join us for coffee and conversation to keep your spirits up. DATE: Wednesday, January 8 HOSTESS: Susan Ragland ADDRESS: 1309 Stamford Way, Reston TIME: 10:00 AM . Please RSVP directly to Susan at 703-437-0784 or by email at susaninwindsor@yahoo.co.uk so she can be prepared. Also, please let Susan know if you will bring something to share. Dear Members, Happy New Year! I hope you had a wonderful holiday shared with family and good friends. If you're like me, you may have overindulged more than a little! Fear not; Kathy has booked the perfect speaker for our General Meeting to get us back on track. With the New Year comes the opportunity to try new things. I hope you'll consider volunteering for a committee or taking one of the open board positions such as treasurer, hospitality, special events, monthly coffees, or newsletter. Many hands lighten the load, so if you'd like to share a position with a friend, that's fine. Please contact me if you would like to volunteer or if you have questions! 703-437-0784 or susaninwindsor@yahoo.co.uk Best, Susan 2 PROGRAMS & WORKSHOPS Kathy Fehringer 703-471-7437 Accessorizing – Scarf Tying and maybe more. Susan will help us learn to tie a scarf and just have fun trying to put “the outfit together.” Bring a scarf along – a favorite, a new holiday gift. If you have a top that is troubling you – for the perfect piece to go with it, we can talk about what might work. This will be a fun morning of “figuring it out and getting ideas.” DATE: HOSTESS: ADDRESS: Monday, January 13 TIME: 10:00 AM Susan Ragland 1309 Stamford Way, Reston, VA 20194 RSVP: Kathy Fehringer - dkwfehringer@verizon.net MEMBERSHIP Sharon Pound 571-201-8719 rspound2@yahoo.com Happy New Year to everyone! If you have not yet picked up your 2013 Membership Directory, you can get it at the next general meeting or ask a friend to pick it up for you. Unfortunately, on the day of the Christmas luncheon I left them all sitting on my kitchen cabinet when I rushed out the door with my hands full of badges, signs, and lists, and I apologize for that. Continue telling your friends about our club and share the joy!
