In June 2010 they hosted and performed at their own mini-festival, Blackberry Fair in Cambridge, sharing the stage with Rhombus, Luxury Stranger and Screaming Banshee Aircrew. The following month they released their debut E.P. ‘Nothing Else But You’, gaining favourable reviews and airplay. In 2011, Last July's sound and stage presence increased tenfold with the addition of Nevla on guitar. The band went from strength to strength with myriad successful gigs and the release of their single 'Glamorous Parasite. They began 2012 with the launch of their debut album and a string of live appearances across the country, including The Whitby Goth Weekend. The Spiritual Bat The Spiritual Bat is Dario Passamonti (Music and Arrangements) and Rosetta Garrì (Lyrics, Drums, Programming). Initially meant to release all instrumental music, when a recording session for acoustic drums was set up, Rosetta, who had previously been the drummer, on a spur of the moment wrote and recorded the lyrics and vocals for Through The Shadows. Ugly Buggs Formed by Gene Loves Jezebel’s Jay Aston & Peter 'Bugg' Rizzo in the grand old City of York in 2011, Ugly Buggs have completed their first eponymous album. Peter had written some music and after recording and playing all the instruments he presented a song to Jay that would become the beautiful ‘Feel’. It’s no coincidence that artists as varied as Lady Gaga, Graham Coxon & Billy Corgan have all cited Jay as an influence. Ugly Buggs decided to embrace their Punk ethics and do the whole album themselves, i.e. record, engineer, produce, mix & create their own art work. The album captures Jay Aston in glorious full voice. Peter Bugg’s musicianship is outstanding & together they’ve created a superb collection of songs. The album captures moments of great joy & despair. A sublime piece of art. Ugly Buggs appropriately make their live debut at Whitby Goth Weekend in Yorkshire. In The Nursery 4 In The Nursery is the Sheffield-based musical project centered around the nucleus of twin brothers Klive and Nigel Humberstone. Their musical history spans 30 years and has constantly expressed their desire for progress and experimentation. With sublime, cinematic music blending electronica, classical arrangements, orchestral percussion and soundscapes they evoke a timeless quality. The creative progress of the band’s albums has always consolidated their distinctive sound while taking on board contemporary influences. ITN’s music has been used on numerous film soundtracks and trailers including Game of Thrones, Gran Torino, Beowulf, The Aviator, Interview with the Vampire, Along Came a Spider and The Rainmaker as well as the La Femme Nikita TV series. Parallel to their studio works, ITN have spent the last twelve years developing their Optical Music Series, new scores for classic silent films. The series to date has included The Cabinet of Dr Caligari, Asphalt, Man with a Movie Camera, Hindle Wakes, A Page of Madness, Electric Edwardians and their latest The Passion of Joan of Arc. ITN have performed their new scores at film festivals around the world. In The Nursery’s last studio album ‘Blind Sound’ was released April 2011. event - BAND biographies Dead Eyes Opened Dead Eyes Opened are a kaleidoscopic, psychedelic smorgasbord of influences, the crunch of metal guitars mixing with the darker synthpop sensibilities of Goth and EBM. They trade on a set of songs built from the sacred ground up brilliantine, shimmering structures of lush opulence laced with a rock n roll swagger. DEO have a proven track record of writing quality tunes; guitarist Dunsy having bagged both BBC Radio One single of the week and NME singles of the month in the past. The Bellwether Syndicate The Bellwether Syndicate draw from a variety of aesthetics, both sonic and visual, combining the energy and attitude of punk rock with the sharp synths and driving beats of electronica; the lush, droning feedback of shoegaze with the intensity and drama of chamber music; the dark atmospherics of post-punk and goth with the sexy sneer of glam -- from dark indie to baroque pop, The Bellwether Syndicate are a unique hybrid; an eclectic amalgam of sound and style. Founded by William Faith (of Faith and the Muse) upon moving from his native Los Angeles to Chicago in 2011, The Bellwether Syndicate also features the talents of long- standing Chicago fixture Sarah Rose (known to most as Scary Lady Sarah, a prolific and well-traveled DJ), now stepping out into the realm of playing and performing. While the music is written and recorded by William and Sarah, the live shows will feature a rotating group of musicians and friends, some known, some new. Die Laughing In the 1990s Die Laughing brought a new style of female fronted gothic rock to the scene. By combining dark melodic guitars and powerful yet ethereal vocals, the band became one of the iconic goth bands of the era and gained a global fanbase. Over seven years they recorded 3 albums, played at some of the leading festivals and venues of the time and toured across Europe. In 1999 the band members moved onto separate projects and Die Laughing remained sleeping, in a deathly slumber for 13 years until now. In 2012 the core songwriting partnership of John Berry and Rachel Speight (Iden) reunited to bring the band back to life to celebrate their 20th anniversary. With new material planned for release in 2012 they play their first anniversary show at Whitby Goth Weekend on 28th April 2012, and will be joined on stage by some special guests. Gene Loves Jezebel Gene Loves Jezebel were formed in the early 80s by brothers Jay and Michael Aston along with guitarist Ian Hudson, in the Porthcawl area of South Wales. They enjoyed considerable Indie success in the U.K. with their debut album 'Promise', and their second album 'Immigrant' was an indie chart No. 1 & featured Bass player Peter Rizzo & Spear of Destiny Drummer Chris Bell. The abrupt departure of guitarist Ian Hudson on the brink of their first mammoth U.S. tour in 1985 meant that former Chelsea and Gen X member James Stevenson was drafted in as a replacement. Further albums followed along with heavy touring throughout the UK and South America. In 1989 Michael left the band and they continued as a four piece, going on to have huge success in Portugal (Break The Chain, Josephina & Sweet Rain were all top ten hits) and also in Latin America. In the 90s Jay Aston recorded his first solo album 'Unpopular Songs', and James Stevenson was invited to play with The Cult as second guitarist for their 94/5 world tour. He also contributed to Tricky's influential debut Maxinquaye as well as being a constant in The Alarm’s Mike Peter’s touring band. In 1997 the band was joined by Michael Aston to record 'VII', although things didn't work and following a US tour the band returned to the UK to finish the album without him. The album showcases Jay Aston's unique and ever maturing songwriting style. The lead track, Love Keeps Dragging Me Down was an immediate hit in Portugal, where 'Break The Chain' from 'Heavenly Bodies' had been number one for weeks. In the 2000s the band have released live albums and reworkings of some of their best known songs along with new material. They continue to tour and have done so extensively alongside Spear Of Destiny in the UK and Echo And The Bunnymen in Brazil, as well as playing in Leipzig, Germany at the Wave-Gotik-Treffen festival. 5 BIZARRE BAZAAR TRADERS Spa Exhibition Hall (Downstairs at The Spa) ► A Step Ahead -
