Anne Putnam Stage Manager
Anne is delighted to be a part of this year's Young at Heart Musical
Theatre for Seniors. She first worked for the original Smile Theatre on
Through The Gable Window.
The Charlottetown Festival: Stage Manager 1986-2009 including Anne
of Green Gables – The Musical™, Shear Madness, The Ballad of
Stompin' Tom and Stan Rogers – A Matter of Heart.
Other Theatre: Theatre New Brunswick 1994-2005; opera in Manitoba,
New Brunswick, and Ontario, outdoor theatre in the Rockies, comedy in
Cape Breton, drama by the Bay of Fundy, murder mystery at Winter
Garden Theatre, Tapestry New Opera Works, Native Earth Performing
Arts.
THE CAST
Anders Balderston
Anders is thrilled to have the opportunity of working with Young at
Heart Musical Theatre for Seniors. He would like to give a great
big hug to the creative team for allowing him to share in this
experience. He is always grateful for any chance he has to step
onto the stage and looks forward to doing so with his fellow
performers. Now sit back, relax and enjoy the show.
Jennifer Long
A proud Islander, Jennifer Long brings passion and creativity to all
she does. A graduate of the Canadian College of Performing Arts,
Jennifer has been an entertainer since the age of three!
Some of her favorite performance credits include: "Jan" in
“Grease” (Vancouver), “The Gin Game” (BC Tour), the "refugee" in
"Spirit of a Nation" (Victoria and Vancouver), “Les Folles
Jambettes” CanCan troupe, and a one-year stint as "Anne of
Green Gables" at Canadian World Theme Park, Japan.
In addition to theatre, Jennifer's love of acting has led her both to
the small and large screen. She is a certified Film Production
Assistant and has worked on productions including Smallville,
Outer Limits, Wolf Lake, Slapshot II, Life (Or Something Like It),
and Glory Days.
In 2007, she moved her company “Smiling Jenny Productions”
back to PEI, and has found great joy working “behind the scenes”
in arts and event administration, including projects with Cavendish
Tourism Association, East Coast Music Awards, The Guild, Canada
Games, and Canadian Idol. She is delighted to be singing her
heart out with “Young at Heart” this winter!
Nick Whelan
Nick is thrilled, not only to get the privilege to work with Young At
Heart, but to also do what he loves in a place so close to his heart.
He is a graduate of the 3 year musical theatre performance
program at St. Lawrence College in Brockville, Ontario. Past credits
include: “The Rocky Horror Show” (ACT) Beauty & the Beast” (SLC
Stage) “Sleeping Beauty”- (Casa Loma), “Cinder(f)ella?!”- (1000
Islands Playhouse) “Chicago”- (SLC Stage), “Anne & Gilbert” (1000
Islands Playhouse), “A Chorus Line”- (SLC Stage), “Emily of New
Moon”- (CBC). He would like to thank all of his friends, both “from
here” and “from away”, for their constant support and thanks you for
