Proost! Santẻ! Kampai! Salute! Gận Bệi! Slảinte! Prost! Salud! Skἀl! We’ll start with a toast to spring featuring Analogue 78. This hi-fi German engineered kolsch is a west coast remix with a new spin. Guaranteed to soothe your thirst from the festival sun, Analogue 78 is our version to the long play album. Kick back and enjoy! Next we’ll sample Ginger Beer. With more ginger than Gilligan can handle, some might be surprised at the instant blast of flavour and aroma from this true ginger beer, but that doesn't take away from its sheer quaffability, paired with Side Car Oysters (Cajun cornmeal crusted plumb Fanny Bay Oysters, Roast Garlic, Spinach & Onions, Creole Hollandaise). Followed by Blue Buck! The Blue Buck is a legendary beast known to grant those that see him good fortune and safe travels! A deep amber coloured beer, the Blue Buck has a crisp finish featuring a delicate hop aroma. Certainly seeing the Blue Buck on bottle grants the drinker a great experience! Worth searching for, paired with slow Roasted Hickory Beef Ribs with smoking hot B.B.Q. sauce, served with jambalaya & young greens. We’ll finish with the Longboat Chocolate Porter, we'd say that Longboat is a classic chocolate porter, but lets face it, who's ever heard of a chocolate porter? It is, however, a rich dark ale, with a distinctive chocolate finish, paired with a decadent Chocolate Porter Bread Pudding, bourbon pecans & chili cream. Join us for a special luncheon on Friday, April 26, 11:30-2:30, to celebrate our fabulous patio. Another very special event for April is our first annual "Blues, Blue Buck, Bill and Beef Bash". The Blues and Bill come courtesy of the legendary Bill Johnson Blues Band who will be the feature entertainment for the evening, Blue Buck is one four fabulous beers from Victoria's Phillips Brewing Company which are being paired with our incredible dinner offering which will include Roasted Hickory Beef Ribs. Please make your reservations early for this very special event on Saturday evening, April 20. Tickets for the four samplings of beer, dinner, entertainment and door prizes are only $39.95. Telephone (250) 721-7935 or email reservat@uvic.ca Family Night Dinner & Entertainment Featuring Music Corner Productions Performing Aesop’s Animals Saturday May 25th – 5:30pm Music Corner Music Corner introduces young children to orchestral instruments and Classical music through interactive musical storytelling. Founded in 2007, the group uses instrumental performance to highlight and support the characters and action of stories. This combination closes the gap between performers and audience, making the experience for children as interactive and tangible as possible. Aesop’s Animals Few works of literature have bridged more generation gaps than the clever fables of Aesop. This story includes favourites like The Hare and the Tortoise, The Fox and the Crow, and The Lion and the Mouse. For each one, Music Corner involves children directly in the story through games and riddles. Music for Aesop’s Animals was composed by David Clenman, sessional lecturer of theory, oral skills, and orchestration at the UVic School of Music. As a quartet consisting of clarinet, violin, trombone, and percussion, Music Corner functions as a miniature orchestra, giving audiences an up-close experience of all four major orchestral instrument families. For thousands of young children every year, Music Corner has provided a first impression of Classical music as a powerful means of self-expression which they can access for the rest of their lives.
