(from page 1)... has been using Vantiv and Wells Fargo to send its Visa and MasterCard transactions into the bank card networks. It generates approximately $17 billion in card payments annually. Litle & Co.’s top competitors for cardnot-present business are Chase Paymentech and First Data. Both built their CNP processing platforms on software that Litle & Co. created in the mid-1980s and later sold to First USA. Litle & Co. will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of Vantiv, continuing to sell directly to merchants as well as benefiting from sales generated by Vantiv’s distribution channels. Vantiv plans on investing capital in Litle and will make its Massachusetts facility an innovation center for new products and services. Tim Litle is Chairman at Litle & Co. in Lowell, Massachusetts, (978) 551-0078, tim@litle.com, www.litle.com. The acquisition of Litle & Co. significantly improves Vantiv’s capabilities in e-commerce. It has been supporting its portfolio of cardpresent merchants as they move online but not with the level of sophistication they’ll get from Litle’s platform. Litle & Co. software was built for CNP merchants and includes all chargeback, risk management, interchange management, and other support, as well as special data mining services that merchants use to boost their marketing efforts. The platform encrypts all transactions and supplies a tokenization service. Charles Drucker is CEO at Vantiv in Symmes Township, Ohio, (513) 900-4811, charles.drucker@ vantiv.com, www.vantiv.com.
