Shasun Shakthi Voice is the collective
voice of this entire institution - that
believes not only in academic
excellence but understands the
significance of fine arts.
Every day when I get up, I segregate my
daily household wastes into two bins,
non biodegradable and biodegradable,
said the model turned actress, giving
tips to young girls how to green.
More than 500 students from 31 colleges
participated in the two day cultural
extravaganza. Ms. Akshaya of Asan
Memorial College was adjudged ‘Ms.
Shreyas 2011’. G.S.S.Jain College won
the overall trophy. Asan Memorial
College ha maximum number of
participation at ‘Shreyas’2011. Actor
‘Mirchi’ Shiva and Mr. Raja of Anbu
pictures was the Chief guest for the
valedictory function.

two day National Symposium on
“Values and Ethics for Sustainable
Indian Economic development” was
organised by Shasun Knowledge centre
at our College on August 5, 6, 2011.

PLACEMENT CELL
T
he placement cell conducted a pre
placement training programme
for the final year students. Ma Foi and
CNNES conducted the training
programe from December 22 to 29,
2010. The training helped the students
enhance their interpersonal skills. It
gave them confidence to face the
interview. The placement cell with the
help of IIJT conducted a seminar on
“India Today”. It conducted a aptitude
test for B.Sc computer science students
with the help of NIIT.
PLACEMENT : We have started our
placement cell activities by collecting
the database of final year students.
SEMINAR : We have conducted a
seminar on the title “India today” by
IIJt for final year students.
NIIT conducted an Aptitude test for
B.Sc (Computer Science) students for
placement purposes.
HCI conducted an orientation
programme for all the final year
students.
We are planning to conduct several
Company based seminars, career
guidance programs, Field trip and visit
to a few companies. There will be a

entertainment fest was organized by
the department. An impressive lineup

number of students gathered to
celebrate idea of creativity.

Understanding a situation before
it reaches the crisis stage can
make a big difference. We encourage
the students to come in, even if they are
not sure that counseling is what they
need. With a counselor's help, they can
discuss alternatives and decide the best
way to proceed. For many students,
dealing effectively with emotional and
social issues increases their success
with academic work. The Counseling
Center is a place for help with any
psychological or emotional problem or
need.

and charts on the topic “say no to
plastic” and “Organic gardening” which
was displayed on 28.9.11 to bring
awareness about the impact of using
plastic bags and inorganic gardening
among the students and staff. Overnight
transition is certainly not possible as we
are obsessed with plastic usage over the
years. But it is always possible to slowly
swap plastic to more eco-friendly. “Go
Green” is the say and lets work towards it.

agnum Opus 2011,
Interdepartmental Competitions of the Dept of Commerce was held
on July 29, 2011. Mrs. P. Sindhuja,
Customer Relation Manager, Lanson
Toyota was the chief guest. Nearly 900
students participated in 11 competitions organized at Magnum Opus 2011.
The winners were awarded gift
vouchers worth Rs.300 and a certificate.
The second prize was Rs. 150 and a
certificate. The winners of the third prize
were given certificate.

department. The students created
miniatures of the industry and markets.
They covered the whole syllabus of the
First semester in one day Exhibition. The
team work resulted in flying colors. The
first experience became their best
training session in the college. This
helped them to fulfill their thirst for
opportunities.

Food & Nutrition course collaboration with NESTLE
organized a programme on 16th September 2011, in
which 30 new recipes were made and they shared some
valuable nutrition tips with our college students.

Indhumalini- II B. Com (CS) were registered to write
University Exams in Classical Dance.
