Kick off the season by previewing a solo exhibition of work by Santa Fe photographer Joan Myers, a group show of contemporary work about darkroom photography, and an exciting new discussion space called the Photo Lab. New Mexico Museum of Art. ARTISTS TALKS IN THE GALLERIES STARTING APRIL 2014 Friends of Contemporary Art + Photography will be sponsoring artists talks at the New Mexico Museum of Art. Join us as we learn about the creative process, challenges and rewards of making art. Invited artists will give an intimate portrait of their individual working processes. FOCA+P MEMBERSʼ PREVIEW: LOCAL COLOR: JUDY CHICAGO IN NEW MEXICO 1984 - 2014 THURSDAY, JUNE 5, 5PM-7PM Enjoy a sneak peek of the exhibition which focuses on both large-scale public projects and smaller-scale personal artworks by Judy Chicago. This exhibition will be among the first to focus on more recent projects by this internationally recognized artist. Highlighted will be the broad range of topics the artist has addressed in her work as well as the broad range of media she has worked in including cast bronze, cast paper, needlework, glass, works on paper, painted glass and porcelain.
