Dear Friends,
Vice President of Institutional Advancement
Imagine
during
these
most
challenging economic times our enrollment is
the highest of my seventeen years of being
President. Some may say really -- you must
be exaggerating! Guess what? I'm not! Sure
these times may be turning us upside down,
but there is a positive side to the struggle.
Our families are returning to the solid values
of your parents. Remember the sacrifices they
made for you to have a quality Trinity
education? Like your parents, they didn't
second guess their decision. They did without
to have the best Catholic education possible.
The same is true today. No vacation, no new
car, no new dress can replace the value of a
life-changing education. This is the gift your
parents gave you -- this is the gift of today's
parents to their daughters.
This is our alleluia - praise be each
of you in this edition of The LINK. Thanks to
your unwavering commitment to financially
support our students. Yes, our parents are
making sacrifices, but without your support, a
Trinity education would just not be possible.
The Sinsinawa Dominican Sisters of years
gone by helped bridge the cost of tuition. You
are now the glue of today. Our current Trinity
women so depend on your generosity. You
have not disappointed them. On their behalf
I truly thank you for your continued support.
What you invest in tells us what you believe in.
Thanks for believing in a Trinity education!

Dear Fellow Alumnae and Friends,
Please take the time to read about all that our
impressive alumnae are doing. Trinity women
are bold pioneers in all service, academic and
professional arenas. I encourage you to let
Trinity know what you are up to as we are so
very proud of our alumnae. Keep in touch with
your alma mater!
Thank you for all of your support of Trinity! It is so
encouraging to work as the alumnae director for
a school with such wonderful, caring, dedicated
alumnae and friends! As you browse through this
issue of The LINK you will get a sense of the
phenomenal people I get to meet and learn
about. From our talented students to our
impressive alumnae to our committed supporters,
each one offers so much to this fine institution!
Lastly, I wish to extend a heartfelt thank you to all
of our generous donors. Your donation to Trinity
is greatly appreciated. It makes me very proud
to claim that Trinity has a 20% alumnae giving
rate. The pages and pages of class donations in
this LINK substantiate this fact! Thank you all so
very much.
It has been another wonderful graduation season
at Trinity. The excitement of the festivities permeate
the building as they have this time of year for
decades! As you read the article (page 7) which
was printed in the Trinity Times in 1939, Trinity's
mission of educating women leaders is still going
strong! Our alumnae continue to be well prepared
to succeed in college.
Enjoy this edition of The LINK; I hope it makes you
as proud of Trinity as it makes me! Make the most
of the rest of your summer!
Kind regards,

CLASS OF 1959 - 50TH REUNION
GUEST SPEAKER
FOR
WOMEN’S HISTORY MONTH
Dr. Victoria Saracco Brander ‘80 spoke to Trinity students in February for
Women’s History month. Vicky is an accomplished orthopedic surgeon and
heads Operation Walk Chicago, a non-profit medical humanitarian
organization that performs free hip and knee replacements for the poor in
developing countries. The group also works with host hospitals to develop
education and training programs in orthopedics. Dr. Brander discussed her
work in India this past winter.
ALUMNA SPEAKER
AT
HONORS CONVOCATION
Dr. Kristin Barry Labovsky '00 was the keynote speaker at the
Induction Ceremony of the National Honor Societies. Despite her
lack of sleep due to her "night call", she gave a very heartfelt and
encouraging speech to the students being inducted into the seven
honor societies. Kristen spoke fondly of her years at Trinity and
how well prepared she was for the pre-med program at
Northwestern. Kristen poses with two of her favorite teachers: Ms.
Rose Crnkovich and Mrs. Sheila Scott.
ALUMNA SPEARHEADS ORGANIZATION
FOR
CHICAGO SCHOOLS
Nicole Kawell '01 started an organization to raise money for arts education
in Chicago Schools. Nicole's not-for-profit art education organization, Chicago
Dance Institute, brings dance to Chicago's youth. Through in-school
partnerships, residencies and public performances, CDI operates as a catalyst
to engage children and motivate them towards excellence. It is founded with the
knowledge that arts have a unique power to engage and motivate children,
while developing a standard of discipline, confidence and expression. Nicole is
encouraging all to join her in a fun 5k Run/Walk on Sept. 6th to raise money
and awareness for this organization. Information about "Bring the Movement

AWARDS AND HONORS
VALEDICTORIAN
AND
SALUTATORIAN
Valedictorian, Caroline
Brander (right), and
Salutatorian, Sofia
Chernet (left), pose
with Sister Michelle on
graduation night.
Caroline Brander with a cumulative grade point average of
4.76 was named valedictorian of the class of 2009. Caroline is
following in the footsteps of her mother Dr. Victoria Brander '80
who was also the valedictorian of her graduating class! Caroline is
a National Merit Commended Student and an Illinois State
Scholar. She was also awarded the Sinsinawa Dominican Founders
Day award because she exemplifies the qualities of Father Samuel
Mazzuchelli--spiritual, courageous and open minded. Caroline
will continue her education at the University of Chicago where she
will study pre-med (again, like her mother!) and play volleyball.
We hope that Caroline will also continue to share her beautiful
voice through music as she has graced the Trinity community with
it the last four years.
Sofia Chernet had a cumulative grade point average of 4.69
and was named the salutatorian of the class of 2009. Sofia is a
National Merit Commended Student and an Illinois State Scholar.
Sofia was also a recipient of the National Achievement Scholarship
Program, a scholarship which honors academically talented black
American high school students. Only 3% of the applicants are
recognized. She was also a member of Trinity's track team. Sofia
will be studying at Dartmouth in the fall.
CINDY ROMANO CHRISTIAN LEADERSHIP AWARD
Named after Cindy Romano ‘74, campus minister at Trinity 199199, is given to a sophomore or junior at Trinity whose faith gives
direction to her life and integrates service as a part of her life. This
year’s award was given to Danielle DuBois ‘10.

seniors, the following girls are of the elite who qualified as a State
Scholar. These girls represent 10% of their class. They are: Alice
Brady, Caroline Brander, Sofia Chernet, Brittnee Cinkues, Lisa
Conte, Chloe Dzielak, Eilis Fagan, Kristen Gayer, Monica Huback,
Alexandra Johnson, Anne Logisz, Maria Mangiarulo, Alyssa
Nastych, Luciana Petitti, Lorva Prophete, Kristina Stranski,

THE MICHELE WHITEHEAD LEADERSHIP AWARD
Lisa Conte ‘09 was honored with The
Michele Whitehead Leadership Award.
Lisa is being recognized for leading by
example, being reflective in her practice,
motivating
others
through
her
compassionate nature and gracing the
Trinity community with her presence -- all
of the qualities Michele displayed during
her eight year tenure as principal. Lisa will be studying
pharmacology at the University of Illinois at Chicago this Fall.
GIRL SCOUT GOLD AWARD
Sophie Amado '10 earns the Girl Scout's highest honor, The
Gold Award. For her Gold Award final project, Sophie raised the
funds for and assembled 160 "literacy kits" for the children at a
Head Start Program in Evanston. Sophie
realized the children did not have school
supplies at home and hoped this would
allow them to be more prepared for
kindergarten. Sophie is an avid reader
and writer and has written her first novel
which she hopes will be published.
Congratulations and best of luck, Sophie!

MAC AND CHEESE FOR CATHOLIC CHARITES

students recently
competed during
their Spring Spirit
Week
to
earn
Olympic points for
their class. The
Olympics featured
a variety of fun and
spirit-filled games including a contest to see which class could bring
in the most boxes of macaroni and cheese for charity. The Trinity
Blazers worked together to collect 1,957 boxes of mac and cheese
which have been donated to the Catholic Charities Food
Distribution Center in Cicero.
Scholar Certificate from Dr. Donna M. Carroll, President of
Dominican University, and Trinity administrators, Michelle
Germanson, O.P., President and Antonia Bouillette, Ph.D., Principal,
the dream was realized! This is truly the blending of two
extraordinary institutions.
The scholars, who must have a cumulative grade point average of
3.7 or above, are allowed to take a college course free of charge at
Dominican University during the summer or after school during their
senior year. This will allow the students to experience what college
will be like, and therefore make the transition easier. The scholars will
be granted early admission to Dominican University as well as a
$2,000.00 annual scholarship each year for up to four years (in
addition to all other merit, state and federal funding). Dominican
will allow these scholars to collaborate in speech and theatre
classes, observe dissection classes, participate in joint service
projects and use Dominican's library and computers.

Design Program brought their talents to St Procopius School, in
Chicago's Pilsen area. Students designed and painted a large scale
mural for the school's cafeteria. It features the central figure of the
Virgin of Guadalupe and combines scenes from old Mexico with
scenes of the Pilsen area today. Congratulations and thanks to all who
helped make this vision a reality! The artists were: Guadalupe Arreola,
Olinda Ayala, Katrina Ciurlionis, Olivia Collins, Emily Kurtenbach,
Karina LaBarbera, Vivian Lozano, Rosie Nardulli, Kristin Pokrovac, Eva
Ramirez, Andreja Siliunas, Ashley Valdez, and Alicia Zyburt.
TRINITY - DOMINICAN SCHOLARS
BASKETBALL
Trinity’s Varsity Basketball Team had quite a year
with an overall record of 28-4. They won their 2nd conference title in
the past three years and consistently ranked in the Top 10 in the state
and were #5 in the Tribune and Sun Times at year end. Seven out of
our first ten players were freshmen or sophomores. This bodes very
well for our future.
SOCCER
Playing a very strong schedule this year, the
Varsity Soccer Team ended their season with a
10-7-4 record and a third place finish in the
GCAC. The hard work throughout the season
paid off as several Blazers earned postseason honors. Seniors Michelle LaRose, Jill
Coleman, and Adriana Preston all earned AllConference honors while junior, Denise
Nelson, was an All-Conference and All-Area
selection. Preston also earned Honorable
Mention All-Area Honors as a goalie.
Mary Kate Welch ‘12
SOFTBALL
Congratulations to the Trinity Varsity Softball Team! For the first time in
the history of the school the team was the Class 3A Softball Sectional
Champions! In the sectional final, Trinity was down 4-0 against
Elmwood Park High School and in true blazer fashion they came back
to win the game 12-4! A special congratulations goes out to Bob
Osborne, the varsity coach, as he was named Coach of The Year from
the Pioneer Press! A well deserved award!
Monday, March 16th was a dream come true for the many who
worked tirelessly on the Dominican Collaboration between Trinity
High School and Dominican University. As forty-two Trinity juniors
who rank at the top of their class received their Trinity-Dominican

TRACK
This season the Blazers were a very young team. Out of the 37
members, 25 were sophomores and freshmen. They were very
inexperienced, but were not lacking desire and determination. They
are looking forward to seeing the team develop.

As was written in the 1939 Trinity Times school newspaper and still holds
true today, Trinity's mission of educating women leaders continues with

students continuing their studies in 1939, 100% of the class 2009 will
continue their education! These young women will continue their
education in all academic areas and in many fine academic institutions.
The 108 graduates will be attending 55 different colleges and universities

Summer School was a tremendous success this year!
One hundred sixty five girls (ages 5-14) were enrolled in
fourteen different camps. The halls of Trinity were abuzz
as the girls excitedly went to the five different art, three
academic and four sports camps. We are proud to say
that thirty-five of the summer camp attendees were
daughters of alumnae!
New this year was a Junior Blazer Camp in which girls

It was an evening that
showcased the pride of the
Dr. Donna M. Carroll,
Trinity Board and Board
President of Dominican University

Trinitarian Award Recipent
Donors, the support of the
Sinsinawa Sisters, the
involvement and collaboration of our honoree, Dominican University
President, Dr. Donna M. Carroll, and the enthusiasm of our
administration, faculty, staff, and parents, and was topped it off with
the grace and charm of our students. What an incredible evening!
These various representative groups gathered at the Drake Hotel’s
Gold Coast Room on April 25th to offer sincere congratulations to
Dr. Carroll. She is a remarkable woman who helped forge an
unprecedented collaboration of Dominican partners (the Duo on
Event Chairs: Mary Ellen Boyle Callow ‘63, Catherine Crowley
Division) that is advantageous to both academic institutions and their Ryan ‘57, Diane Kennedy, O.P. ‘51, Brian Donlan, Board Chair,
students. The Trinitarian Award conferred on Dr. Carroll represents
Michelle Germanson, O.P., President, and Antonia Bouillette,
Ph.D., Principal.
the highest honor awarded to a friend of the Trinity community who
demonstrates leadership to support Trinity’s mission. Dr. Carroll was
recognized for her commitment to scholarship, stewardship and leadership.
Bal Dominique is a venue whose purpose is to support
student financial assistance. Three student representatives
eloquently gave testimony to the doors of opportunity that
have opened for them as a result of their Trinity experience.
Following is a quote from one of our student speakers.
“As Walt Whitman said, “The habit of giving only enhances
the desire to give.” Obviously, because you are here, you
truly care about Trinity High School. Your continued
contributions are important to the Trinity community. Your
financial support makes a significant impact on the lives of
all the students. “

ALUMNAE TEA
The annual alumnae tea celebrating the Trinity classes of 1928 through 1948 was held April 30th. Although the weather was not perfect,
the Alumnae had a perfect time! It was held in the foyer of the Sister Michelle Germanson Athletic Facility and the Trinity Choral Class
provided the entertainment. It was a wonderful afternoon despite the weather! We look forward to next year when graduating classes
1928 through 1954 will be invited.

The Barbara Rinella event was a tremendous success! Two hundred and forty alumnae and friends thoroughly enjoyed themselves at
this annual spring luncheon. Barbara's enthusiastic performance of 23 White House First Ladies as they had been portrayed in Margaret
Truman's novel, First Ladies was extremely entertaining. Eight vendors, who generously donated 15% of their sales to Trinity sold their
beautiful gift items to all that attended. A special thank you to Joanne Murphy Reynolds ‘55 for hosting this event. For Barbara's book
recommendations, visit her website at www.barbararinella.com.

brought everyone up to date on Trinity in 2009 while we shared great stories of
life in the fifties. The afternoon flew by and was followed by dinner at Abbey

FROM THE VICE-PRESIDENT OF
INSTITUTIONAL ADVANCEMENT
Christine Lee Bollettino ‘68
Dear Alumnae and Friends,
Impact! Like so many words in our vocabulary, there are multiple
connotations as it relates to our varied worlds. In education,
impact may be the way a student is affected by a great instructor,
her GPA with exemplary grades, the ranking of her team with a
string of victories.
In development, it is the gifts committed alums make to their alma
mater. As you review the Honor Roll of Donors, please read and
feel -- Impact! More than twenty percent of Trinity alumnae gave
this past year, fulfilling our 2008-2009 goal! Thank you! Your
generosity positively affected Trinity's ability to grow and enhance
our premier single-gender education.
We recognize that in order to sustain this educational growth,
both in ranking and enrollment, Trinity will need to seek gifts of
even greater impact -- those that are planned and focus on
Trinity's future. As we move into this new school year, we ask you
to thoughtfully consider having a conversation with your family,
your attorney and then Trinity's Planned Giving Advisor about
making a gift that will impact future classes of young Trinity
students. Your bequest can be restricted, unrestricted, endowed
for ongoing years, or given in honor or memory of someone.
Please contact me with any questions regarding a potential
planned gift. How wonderful to know that your gift not only made
a significant impact, it created a legacy!
Gratefully,
TRINITY HIGH SCHOOL

WHAT’S
NEWS
WITH YOU?
Hello once again! The summer has been flying by, and many of
you have sent in your news…keep it up! I'm delighted to start off
with some very happy personal news: last April 11, after nearly 7
years on dialysis, my husband Rodney underwent a successful
kidney transplant. Everything went very well, and we are grateful
to all our friends at Trinity and elsewhere for their prayers and
concern. Miracles do happen!
THE TWENTIES
Extra-special Trinity greetings go out to Mary Chambers
Mulcahy '28 (pictured above), who recently celebrated her 100th
birthday with her six sons, 20 grandchildren and 24 greatgrandchildren. Mary, who lives in Milwaukee, stays active by
playing bridge and bingo, and also attends art, computer and
writing classes. Way to go, Mary!
THE FORTIES
Elizabeth Stricker Hass '43 is living in Youngstown, AZ, where
she enjoys life, church and friends. Elizabeth will be 86 years old
on August 4th. Happy Birthday!
"I am grateful for the excellent education I received from Trinity,"
writes Rita Jean Hayes Anderson '44 from Memphis, TN, "and
the life-long friendships which have enriched my life."
Dolores Shaunessy Fleming '44 is still doing her art and now
showing in several galleries. Dolores lives in Port St. Lucie, FL.
I've found a fellow singer in Frances McGinn Malloy '48, who
writes from Ingleside, IL. "My most recent proudest achievement is
singing with the Community Chorus of the College of Lake County
at a concert rendered in Carnegie Hall." Fran has also taken up
oil and watercolor painting. She has nine children and twenty
grandchildren. Fran has also visited Indonesia and Japan. "I enjoy
traveling and never get enough of it."

Congratulations to Samuel and Florence Cone SanFilippo '48,
who celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary on June 9, 2009.
Florence and Sam, who have five daughters and twelve
grandchildren, live in San Jose, CA.
THE FIFTIES
Eleanor Warzoha '50 just became the president of the Ladies of
Charity of St. Vincent de Paul for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles,
CA. Congratulations!
Fellow alums Peggy Gilligan
Mulhern '50 and Ellen Shea
Shields '49 reunited after many
years in Chapel Hill, NC last April.
Ellen lives in Hilton Head, SC.
Marlene Mueller Margraf '54
and husband Walter live in San
Marcos, CA, and have been
married for 53 years. They have
been blessed with five daughters, 15 grandchildren and three
great-grandchildren.
Last January, a group of alums from the class of 1955 had a minireunion lunch at The Clubhouse in Oakbrook, IL. Present were:
Darlene Crowley Caron, Betty Sheridan Hansmann, Mary
Joan Kenny Flavin, Fran Houlihan Fogarty, Nancy Grow
Clohecy, Mary Agnes Lee Gebhardt, Sr./Dr. Marilyn
Aiello, Barbara Gesto O'Brien, Eileen Day Galvin and Pat
McGrath Sullivan.
"It seems like I am tooting my own horn," writes Dr. Bonnie
Beyer '58 from Dearborn, MI, where she is a professor of
education at the University of Michigan-Dearborn, "but as a proud
graduate of Trinity High School I wanted to get news to Trinity on
the work of their alumni and the impact that Trinity has made and
will continue to make through their graduates on the personal
development and future careers of women." Bonnie received the
University's Susan B. Anthony Award, "presented annually to a
member of the University of Michigan-Dearborn campus family,
recognizing an individual whose life and deeds exemplify the
dedication, fortitude, political agitation and involvement of Susan
B. Anthony on behalf of women, and live by Susan B. Anthony's
motto, 'Failure is impossible'." Bonnie was cited for her nurturing
and support of women in their studies and careers. "Bonnie Beyer
provides leadership, service, and generous spirit to support future
teachers, school administrators, public officials, and faculty on this
campus and beyond." Congratulations, Bonnie…Trinity is so
proud of you!
Summer 2009
Mary E. Callow '63 has received Dominican University's Caritas
Veritas Award, which is given to an outstanding individual whose
life reflects Dominican's motto, Caritas et Veritas, a search for truth
through charity or service. Mary, an equity member in the law firm
of Clingen, Callow & McLean, LLC, is also the past president of
Dominican's Alumnae Board and an active member of the
University's Board of Trustees since 1990. As Chair of the Board of
Trustees since 2005, Mary has provided leadership in university
planning and was instrumental in the completion of the Amazing
Possibilities campaign, the first $50 million fundraising initiative in
the history of the university.
Pat Thompson '58 writes from Walden Spring, MO, that her son,
Chris Koster, was recently elected Attorney General of Missouri.
THE SIXTIES
Sr. Cecilia Sehr, O.P. '60 has been honored by Bishop Lynch
High School in Dallas, TX, in a truly memorable way: the school's
new science building, the Sister Cecilia Sehr, O.P., Ed.D. Science
Pavilion is named and dedicated in her honor! "I think the building
is really named for all of the Dominicans who have taught here
and been a part of the school since it was founded." The school's
president, Deacon Ed Leyden, describes Sr. Cecilia as "far from
being merely an outstanding science teacher, [she] is a true
Renaissance person who has shared her many interests with the
Bishop Lynch community." Sister has taught at Bishop Lynch for
more than 25 years.
Joann Casciato Hillebrand '60 is the Treasurer General of the
World Union of Catholic Women's Organizations. Joann and
husband John live in Oak Brook, IL.
Priscilla Cardenas Barbier '65 was the mother of the groom
last May, when her youngest son, Kevin, was married to Tricia
Burgeson. The wedding and reception took place at Joliet's
spectacular Rialto Square Theater, a former movie palace. The
Hollywood-themed wedding included the groom's grand
entrance, rising from the orchestra pit on a mechanical stage lift!
Gail Molnar Torres '65 is a new first-time grandma! Gail lives
in Pensacola, FL, where she was just installed as president of the
Board of Directors of the local Museum of Art and also volunteers
for the Symphony.
Mary Ann Weber Reyburn '65 is retiring after 28 years at
Waterloo Industries, the world's largest tool storage manufacturer.
"Looking forward to spending time with my three-year-old
granddaughter, some traveling and possibly some volunteering
and gardening." Mary Ann and husband Clint live in Sedalia, MO.
Marianne Forcucci Maravich '68 is an account executive and
clinical specialist with Kimberly Clark Healthcare's Pain
Management Division. Through the years she has won numerous
awards, four in 2008 alone! Marianne credits her faith and her
Trinity education for having carried her through, especially "the
discipline they taught you to reach for excellence always."
Rose DeCanio Reckas '69 is an agent for US Airways and lives
in Tempe, AZ. She is looking forward to her class' 40-year reunion,
which is coming right up!
Kathryn Tortorello Finnegan-Dixon '69 wrote in to say she
moved to Plainfield, Il a couple of years ago and has gained a
couple of grandchildren. Kathryn is also excited about celebrating
her 40th in October!
1960 classmates Geri Michelotti Lenzi, Pat Pulaski Kautz,
Joan Inzerillo Robinson, Gloria DeMarco Domrose and
Luna Muratore Casaccio recently enjoyed a mini-reunion at
sea on a cruise to Central America.

of Manager of Individual Underwriting for Unicare Life and Health
Insurance Company. "I now have time to devote to my family and
enjoy quality time with my two grandchildren, Meredith and
Mitchell." Patricia and husband James live in Elmhurst, IL.
Sharon Comeford Clifton '63 will be moving to Oklahoma
from Grand Junction, MI, within the year to help Catholic
homeschool five of her eight grandchildren at Thunder Duck
Homestead. "I will pray, write, teach, travel and attempt to beat my
grandson at target shooting," she writes.

Congratulations go out to Barbara A. Osmolak ’69 who,
inspired by her nieces and nephews, went back to school to obtain
a doctor of pharmacy degree. She obtained the degree while
working full time. Barbara is following in the footsteps of her
father who owned a pharmacy in Cicero while she was at Trinity.
You can visit the incredibly knowledgeable and helpful Barbara at
Costco’s pharmacy in Oak Brook, IL.

Meilinger Lester '94 just joined the Booster Club this past year
and is also an active member of the Parents Club. Julia also has
another "small world" story to share. "I had been working with a
lady in our Cub Scout Pack in Darien, IL, from 1998-2003. Her
son, Nick, was in my son's Cub Scout den. She was also our
Assistant Cubmaster for awhile. One day while going through my
yearbook, my son yelled, 'hey, that's Nick's mom!'. The name and
the face matched my friend, Donna. We were both surprised to
find out that we were at Trinity at the same time - I was a student
and she was a Math teacher - Donna (Schuda) Folkerts. Donna

of high school," writes Katie Grunow '08, an IB program
graduate. "It was the little things that made me appreciate how
much IB has done for me…knowing more than my professor about
how Hitler had come into power and answering my classmates'
questions about it…seeing that the Bio 112 textbook was an earlier
edition of my junior year IB Bio text, or being bored in my Calculus
class because IB Math had already covered it. I understood organic
chemistry when my friends were struggling with non organic chem.
What I am basically trying to say is Thank You."

Edna Stafford graduated from Trinity in 1932. Edna was
on the honor roll all four years, was on Student Council
and took pictures for the yearbook. She also played the
violin in the Trinity concerts. Upon graduation Edna
became the first woman to graduate with a pre-med
degree from Rosary College. She went on to become one
of three women graduates of Loyola University Medical
School in 1938. Edna came back to her alma mater
during vocation week, "a week whose purpose is to offer
vocational advice to the student body," according to the
1939 Oak Leaves article, to inform the young women of
the opportunities in studying medicine.
After completing her civil service residency in Newberry
State Hospital, she was employed at St. Anne's where she
met and married her husband Thomas McInerney. The two
moved to Escanaba where their six children were born.
Edna practiced medicine for over 50 years. She is fondly
remembered for delivering babies in the forties when her
husband was in the service. When Thomas died in 1972,
Edna, in her strong resilient way, went back to work full
time and remained working until 1994. Strong, humble,
determined and most important LOVING are the adjectives
that best describe this brave pioneer of Trinity!

Please notify Trinity of the death of an alumna or a relative of an alumna. Unless specifically requested, we will list the
living, immediate alumnae relations of the deceased. We apologize for any errors that occur in this Memorial section.
NEED A GOOD HOME FOR YOUR TRINITY HIGH SCHOOL MEMORIES?
Would you like to find a good and safe home for your or your mother's Trinity mementos
and memories? We are hoping you will donate any photos, yearbooks and newspapers
from your years at THS. We are particularly in need of anything from the 1930’s and
1940's because we have many gaps in the archives from those years. Please consider
sending your memories to us. They will be treasured as well as preserved and will help us
to better document the many years of this most wonderful and enduring school. Marigayle
Watts Harrington '78 will be happy to receive your memories. Just contact her at
708.453.8328 or mharrington@trinityhs.org.
Thank you,
Susan Vrechek, Trinity Archivist and Historian
