Remember: You can view our full newsletter on our website by the 1st of each month: www.generationsofiv.org Technology is not my area of expertise. When I took on my job as program director five years ago, managing our website was one of those little “by the ways” for which I would be responsible. Sure, I’ll try it, boss (but you’ll be sorry…) Before long, I found out that the website was tricky to use and even trickier to manage, especially for a non-techy like me. Soon enough, it became evident that the Generations website was in need of an overhaul. Having updated the thing for years, I knew this. What I didn’t know was how to do it. Enter the VNA Foundation of Greater North Penn. Using generous grant funds from this benevolent foundation, we began the process of rebuilding our website to make it more appealing and user friendly, both for those navigating the site and for those managing it. The planned remodel would also help make our website mobile friendly, a necessity after Google announced they would boost mobile-friendly pages in their search results. It was a pleasure working with Bergey Creative Group of Harleysville to rebuild the website. They walked us through every step of the editing process and are still supportive now that they have turned over to us the responsibility of updating the site. On the website, you can find out about our history, mission and offerings; view our full on-line activity calendar including our noon meal menu; view or download printable monthly newsletters or participant and volunteer applications; see our staff and participant photo galleries; be linked directly to our Facebook page; learn about our Meals on Wheels offerings and much more. So, whether you are a casual computer user like me or a seasoned expert, we think you will find our new website attractive, helpful and easy to use. Be sure to check it out at www.generationsofiv.org ~Amy Stover, Program Director Generations of Indian Valley January 2016 p. 2 Our team Generations is. . .
