With cars on track for only minutes at a time, these obstacles test competitors’ focus as they battle both the elements and their rivals. • The Track features a mixture of racing surfaces—a paved section and a loose surface section, comprised of dirt, gravel, or sand. The highlight of the loose surface section is the series’ signature Jump, which sees drivers flying upwards of 70 feet. Because of the portable nature of the courses, Red Bull GRC tracks can be built almost anywhere. • Each driver is allowed to take the Joker Lap once per event. The Joker Lap consists of a shortcut lane that shaves seconds off a driver’s lap time, allowing them to separate themselves from their opponents or make a late-race pass for position. • The Penalty Box is designed to keep events running quickly with minimal downtime caused by on-track infractions. Drivers who commit penalties such as jump starts, overly aggressive driving, or taking the Joker Lap more than once are sent to the Penalty Box for a stop-and-go penalty. If an infraction occurs too late in the race, a time penalty is assessed. • Race Format Red Bull Global Rallycross events feature six types of sessions: • Drivers take part in one or two Practice sessions to set up their vehicles for the event. They can compete in as many four-lap sessions as they choose until they find a comfortable setup and optimal lines for the event. • Seeding (or qualifying) sees drivers broken up into two groups, with each group getting a brief period of time on the track. The fastest six drivers (three per group) then advance to the final round of seeding, with their starting positions determined by their second-round lap times. • Each class competes in one or two rounds of Heats over the course of the event. These six-lap races are run for points in the series Championship. A driver’s finishing position determines their lane choice in the next session. • The Semifinals take place to set the grid for the final two sessions of the event. The top three drivers in each semifinal advance to the Final, while the rest of the field moves onto the Last Chance Qualifier. • The Last Chance Qualifier is a four-lap battle between all cars that have not already qualified for the Final. The top four drivers advance, while the remaining drivers go home. • The Final is a 10-lap dash between 10 cars for all the glory and remaining championship points. The Competitors Red Bull Global Rallycross drivers come from some of the most diverse backgrounds in all of professional motorsport. The field is a melting pot of action sports legends, stunt driving innovators, and professional racing superstars with international experience. These drivers come from across the globe, representing four continents and nearly a dozen countries. The series’ race teams boast global experience competing in stage rally, open-wheel racing, and drifting, among numerous other disciplines. Their accolades include Indianapolis 500 victories, national and international rally championships, and X Games gold medals. The Cars Red Bull Global Rallycross Supercars roll off the line as production vehicles, before undergoing extensive modifications to become suitable for competition. Producing up to 600 horsepower, these all-wheel drive vehicles accelerate from 0-60 miles per hour in under two seconds, while drivers juggle multiple racing surfaces without the benefit of electronic traction aids. Ford, Subaru, Volkswagen, Hyundai, and Chevrolet all serve as official manufacturer partners of the series. GRC Lites vehicles were developed by Olsbergs MSE, a three-time Red Bull GRC Supercars championship-winning team, as the ultimate development tool for future rallycross superstars. These purpose-built, all-wheel drive racecars produce 310 horsepower, simulating the feel and handling of the top level Supercars while providing drivers an opportunity to hone their skills. Red Bull Global Rallycross features a unique and unparalleled viewing experience for our fans. Each ticket grants access to the series’ paddock, allowing fans to meet and interact with drivers, and watch mechanics at work. In addition, each event features an all-series autograph session at the beginning of the race weekend, with the majority of drivers sticking around post-race for additional autograph signing and fan interaction.
