Separate databases for each version. Optionally HELITRONIC TOOL STUDIO uses the same database for both versions. Benefits: • Test without risk! • Testing stage – more security before switching to the new system 1) WALTER HELITRONIC TOOL STUDIO 2.0 WALTER HELITRONIC TOOL STUDIO 2.0 HELITRONIC TOOL STUDIO 2.0 Machine Support The software is running on all machines of the HELITRONIC series. Grinding machines with Andron control will still be supported1). Test license Test the Version 2.0 for three months. After the trial period the test licence automatically expires. Benefits: • Test without risk! • Simplified process of trying software • Risk free entry to new tool families o need for a hardware extension for machines with HMC 600 control. N Machines with controls type HMC 400 and 500 require a hardware extension. Extended Network functionality Benefits: • Central database administration • User rights management • Option to delete all local IDNs on machine before copying from server • Opening of IDN from server and automaticaly copying it to machine • Increase of efficiency and productivity 7 Split View, Detached View Split screen on one display and dual view on 2 displays. Benefits: • All simulation features available • Increased flexibility • Better overview 8 WALTER HELITRONIC TOOL STUDIO 2.0 WALTER HELITRONIC TOOL STUDIO 2.0 1 Automatic Referencing Automatic referencing of – Probe – Dresser – Opening Stick/Stone 2 1 Tool Measure Interface HELITRONIC TOOL STUDIO interface to HELICHECK machines. Measurement features are Diameter, Rake Angle, Helix Angle, Clearance Angle & Width, Runout, Flute Depth and Backtaper. Automatic machine referencing – Using additional hardware; FANUC (Andron on request) Benefits: • Time saving due to automatic (Probe mounted in A-Axis) generation of measuring program (QCM) Benefits: • Measuring results independent • No double data input minimizes of operator input errors • Reliable process HSK Loader Support Loader – ”Clipboard“ Available for “1 Gripper solution” Adding tools from HELITRONIC TOOL (HELITRONIC POWER and STUDIO to active loader batch by one HELITRONIC POWER DIAMOND) click. Benefits: • Time saving due to easy handling • ”Batch“ can be saved completely 9 Performance Enhancements – Multi core support on recent PC´s and latest FANUC panel (Dual Core) – Optimization of calculation times (individual teeth, variable helix, tapered) Benefits: • Higher productivity due to faster calculations Display Grinding Layers – Several grinding infeeds are shown in cross section as different layers – Goal is to visualize material removal per infeed – Wheel sections per infeed can be visualized Benefits: • Visualize effect of different Infeed Strategies • Optimize Infeed Strategy 2 Multiple Cross Sections Define multiple cross sections using individual positions along tool centre line. Benefits: • No need to change one cross section over and over again. • Free selection of cross sections and their positions • Time Saving History of Spindle Torque and Grinding Time Automatic logging of spindle torque and grinding time per operation over several runs. Benefits: • Better control over the grinding process • By watching torque over several runs you get an idea when wheel is worn out and needs to be redressed • More efficient grinding 10 WALTER HELITRONIC TOOL STUDIO 2.0 WALTER HELITRONIC TOOL STUDIO 2.0 1 11 2 W Pr hee op l er tie s 1 Show Linked Tool IDNs in Wheels Show all Tool IDN´s connected to a certain ”Wheel Pack IDN“ on a mouse click. Can be used in HELITRONIC TOOL STUDIO and IDN-Commander. Benefits: • Better overview of wheel packs in use Attach PDF Drawings to IDN One or more PDF documents can be linked to the IDN. Integrated PDF viewer allows display inside of HELITRONIC TOOL STUDIO. Drawings and documents are stored together with the IDN. 2 Attach Fluting Operation Benefits: • Important Information‘s from drawing are available to the operator right where it is needed • Replacement for paper printoute • Grinding of pre-fluted blanks ac- to Profile Probingg Fluting operation can be attached to result of profile probing. Benefits: • Allows basic regrinding of flutes with unknown helix angles cording to measured helix angle Additional Radius Gash Operation Add a second radius gash operation to drills with standard-point and facet-point. Available in operation wizard. Benefits: • Different gash-operations possible • Higher flexibility New Drill Wizard – Reapply wizard for drills – OD operations (k-land, heelchamfer, facets, cylindrical margin) available in Wizard – Endform (e.g. chamfer) available in wizard – No support for step-drills Benefits: • Added value for customer • No need for steptool-option 12 WALTER HELITRONIC TOOL STUDIO 2.0 WALTER HELITRONIC TOOL STUDIO 2.0 1 1 Profile Grinding Method – Grinding method for increasing and decreasing contours – Ability to handle inside and outside corners – Variable grinding wheel positions along the contour – Including new profile preforming method (plunge grinding) with automatic partitioning of grinding moves Benefits: • Ability to grind profile tools in HELITRONIC TOOL STUDIO with all advantages • Improve your competitiveness 13 2 Regrinding of Tools with Axial Flutes – Probing of axial angle and/or rake angle before grinding axial fluting operation – Align tool vertically in order to get equal flute face removal – Usage: Regrinding of axial flutes, production or regrinding of brazed inserts Benefits: • Flexibility to use probed axial angle and/or us probed rake angle for grinding • Probing of axial flutes can even be used on userdefined tools • Opens market for brazed insert tools 2 Reverse Grinding Order for Facet Grinding Grind from back to cutting edge or from cutting edge to back. Benefits: • Flexibility to configure facet operation according to grinding requirement. Runout Probing on Pre-fluted Blank Probe runout according to previously probed radial position of existing flute. Benefits: • Production of tools with pre-fluted blanks incl. runout probing • Increases your product portfolio Manual Positioning of Wheel in Fluting – Positioning of fluting wheels using axis offsets along given helix – Core profile will be considered – No automatic calculation of rake or core (due to manual offsets) – OD operations follow position Benefits: • Time saving when positioning of form wheels (e.g. typically production of drill flutes) • Existing form wheels can be re-used 14 WALTER HELITRONIC TOOL STUDIO 2.0 WALTER HELITRONIC TOOL STUDIO 2.0 1 1 Custom Wheel Path – Direct programming of grinding move in tool coordinate system – FlexProg like programming independent of machine kinematic Benefits: • Flexibility for the tool designer to design special custom tool geometries very fast and easy • Possibility to use external calculation (e.g. Microsoft Excel) for grinding path and Import to HELITRONIC TOOL STUDIO • Machine independent programming in relative or absolute coordinates 15 2 Coolant Hole Opening New operation to open coolant holes on EF.
