LOMA Learning System Consolidates Previous Platforms;
Expedites Access to Courses, Enrollments and Course History
At LOMA, we are hard at work migrating courses and student records to our new learning system. This learning system, which is already in use with our online short courses,
offers you, our customers, improved course access, student information, and smoother transactions for both Ed Reps and students.
The next big step in our learning system rollout takes place on or about the first week of December, when the learning system will replace LOMANET as the go-to place for
enrolling and accessing all LOMA designation courses and course history. Among the key benefits:
nEd Reps and students can enroll for both designation courses and online
short courses via one system
Accessing the new learning system involves some changes, but these are easy
to navigate. Keep in mind:
n Detailed course descriptions, objectives, and costs are included within the
system
n
You can access the system through www.LOMA.org. – we’ll send you more details
once the system is fully live
n Students have one combined record from LOMANET and LOMALearn
n Ed Reps who are also students have one combined record
n
Students should log in with their LOGIN ID, which is the same as their LOMANET
Student ID Number
n Ed Reps can search for learners by e-mail address, city, state, or other criteria
n
Ed Reps can log in using their LOGIN ID, which is their Ed Rep ID number
n
Students and Ed Reps can enroll in multiple courses and pay for all once in
the Shopping Cart function
n
The system’s user interface is available in several languages, including:
l
English
l
Spanish
l
French
l
Chinese (Traditional and Simplified)
l
If an Ed Rep had both an Ed Rep number and a Student ID number in
LOMANET, his or her new LOGIN ID is the Student ID number
n
“Alias” is no longer used for Students or Ed Reps
n
Ed Reps and proctors access I*STAR the same way as they did in previous systems
continues on next page
IMPORTANT NOTE: During our transition to the upgraded system, LOMANET, I*STAR, and Prometric systems — as well as current short
online course access via the new system — will be periodically unavailable. We anticipate systems being unavailable between
Tuesday, December 1 and Monday, December 7. We expect to be live on the new system on Monday, December 7. Click here:
http://www.loma.org/HelpCenter/Website/Maintenance.aspx for daily updates of the times that will affect each system. Students enrolled in
Course Portal programs should plan to download text PDFs and any interactive Study Aid files prior to the date the systems become unavailable.
Changes that impact Ed Reps
n You have a new Organization Number which replaces the Company Number you’ve used in the past
n All Secondary Locations also have Organization Numbers, identified with “SL” in the name
n All exam sites have new numbers
n We will send you primary site Organization Numbers when the system goes live
Changes that impact Students
n Only current student* data will be migrated to the new system. However Ed Rep reports will
ultimately include both current and historic student data
n Students enrolling in I*STAR, Prometric, or online interactive courses — both short and designation — will have a six-month course access period from the date of enrollment. Quarters
will no longer be necessary. Exams must be taken within the six-month period to receive credit
for the course.
n Students unable to finish their designation program coursework within the six-month access
period now have the option to pay a $50 Course Extension Fee to purchase an additional
six-month access period, as long as the Course Extension is purchased within 30 days from the
end of the original course access period. After the 30-day Course Extension eligibility period,
students must pay the full price of the course to get an additional six months of course access.
Other limits and conditions apply, and will be outlined clearly in the Ed Rep training materials you
receive when the new system goes live.
*Students who have been enrolled in any course within the past 12 months
We’re Here to Help! We want our customers to be comfortable with this new learning system. Detailed
tutorials are available to help Ed Reps fulfill their duties, including answering questions, and guiding students through a variety of log-in, enrollment, and payment procedures. Student tutorials are also available to ensure that continued enrollment in LOMA courses and programs is convenient and effortless.
Additional information and instructions, including links to an Ed Rep Demo and Student Tutorials, will be
available shortly and announced via email.
