Ford gives Focus an EcoBoost
For quite some time, there has been a lot of competition between Ford’s Focus
and the Toyota Corolla for title of world’s best-selling car. Sometimes the Corolla
is in front and sometimes the Focus. No doubt they are both excellent vehicles,
proven performers that offer a winning combination of reliability, driving comfort
and value in an eye-pleasing package that any motorist can take pride in.
But now Ford have made a move which may prove to permanently resolve the
issue. In 2012 Food introduced the EcoBoost engine, a new 1-litre 3 cylinder
engine that went on to win multiple awards including “International Engine of
the Year” as well as “Best New Engine” and “Best Engine under 1.0 litre”. This
may seem like a lot of hoo-hah for a 1-litre engine but the EcoBoost is a marvel
of physics.

BMW 3 Series gets all new engines
The trend towards efficiency and ‘dynamite comes in small packages’ continues
apace throughout the motoring industry, with BMW being the latest manufacturer to move in this direction. All the engines in its top-selling 3 Series will now be
replaced as it gives it a mid-life face lift.
It’s not only changes under the hood you’ll see, but the exterior changes are
relatively minor, as clearly BMW doesn’t want to spend the time and money
messing with their main money spinner.
