YOUTH GROUP
I would like to thank all the KCRC young people, parents and supporters
who helped make 2015 a successful start to what I hope will be a
longstanding addition to the KCRC calendar of events. When I look through
the photographs of our events I didn't quite realize just how much we did
and what fun we had.
Pony & Pizza
Trail of the Painted Ponies
Racing Paints
Team Games with Trephina
More Team Games
4th July Fun
Trail Practice
Trail Ride
English Style
Family Quiz
Fundraising Obstacle Course in Elizabeth for Drifters Heart of Hope
Volunteer Day at Spirit Keepers Equine Sanctuary
We will be reaching out to all our youth members and encourage them to
come along to a planning event that will be scheduled in the new year. We
are looking to increase the number of participants at each of our events, so
will be looking to our families with youth to help guide our activities. I am
really looking forward to seeing every one of your youth at the KCRC events
in 2016.
The goal of KCRC Youth Group is not to duplicate 4H or Pony Club, but to
help our young members to feel comfortable, make friends, have fun, and learn in a safe, inclusive non-competitive
environment. It has been rewarding to see our youth encouraged and mentored by positive role models, a big thank
you to Shiloh, Chris, Donna, Barb, Shelly, Deb, Jane, Cindy, Christine, Rosie, Clay, Trephina, Seth, Elaine, Tom & Pam
with your help we were able to achieve many of these things.
So what does 2016 hold for our youth group? It all depends on our membership interest; we will be looking to our
families with youth to help develop this years line up. Do you have ideas, please bring them to our planning session.
What you can be sure of is you have my ongoing support to continue scheduling and attending as many events as I can,
here are a few ideas; put YOUR thinking cap on and help us develop this years line up of events!!
Run a gymkhana
Have a Long Ear information day
Learn to drive
Try out different disciplines
Learn how to care better for our equine partners ( basic nutrition, hoof care, first aid)
Camp out
Rope a Steer
I wish you all a very happy, healthy, and safe 2016 and I look forward to riding alongside you throughout 2016.

Royalty Update
Hello Kit Carson Riding Club!
This is my last Snubbin Post update as your
2015 Queen. I'm sorry to say that. I've really enjoyed being Queen. It's opened up a
lot of doors for me and it was a great experience. I don't know what I'm going to
miss the most. I absolutely loved riding in
parades, meeting new people, going to
events I normally wouldn't go to. I adored
little kids coming up to me and asking me
questions (my favorite being, "Can I pet
the royal pony?"). Being Queen was amazing. I feel like it helped me in a lot of
ways; working on my public speaking, getting more comfortable with meeting new people, and Lord knows I learned how to do
my make up and hair-although that doesn't mean I ever learned to like it. Being Queen and representing this incredible
KCRC family meant a lot to me, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to do it.
I've been through a lot this year, with Extreme Cowboy Racing, the Extreme Mustang Makeover, being involved in the KCRC
Youth Group, and all my Royalty adventures. I'd like to thank you all for being there for me, and being so incredibly supportive. I'll
forever be thankful for you.
Our new Royalty is the amazing Madison Zachman (2016 KCRC Queen) and her adorable sister Makenzie Zachman (2016 KCRC
Princess). I've said it before and I'll say it again; these girls are incredible. Madison's tryout was simply awesome, her public
speech left me speechless. Makenzie's tryout was amazing as well, I was stunned by her, especially riding a horse she'd never ridden before, and riding it well. Their entire family is a joy to be around, and I'm always impressed with them every time I see
them.
I'm sad to say goodbye to the crown, but I'm confident that it's in perfectly capable hands. I'm excited to move to the next chapter of my life, and excited to help the new Royalty in their adventures next year.
I hope you all have a merry Christmas, and a good New Year.
Thank you for being such a
wonderful group of people,
I love you all.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Shiloh Sarah

PARADES
And so the year ends for Parades in 2015. What a great
finish with the Festival of Lights Parade. For me it was
more like a gathering of friends I've come to treasure,
walking, riding and enjoying company once again. Sort of
bittersweet.
For the year of 2015:
Thank you to all who braved participating in your first
parades.
Thank you to all who helped with the float.
Thank you to all who pulled wagons, trailers, poop carts,
banners, flags and proud hearts.
Thank you to all who rode horses, ponies, wagons.
Thank you to all who walked carrying banners.
I am so proud of you. So proud of Kit Carson and you who represented us in the parades. Chris Sarah
