THE LODGE
Want to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life? Join us in our
tranquil surroundings in Sodwana Bay. You’ll leave here wishing you could
stay.
A Day in Africa boasts comfortable accommodation units. Our
accommodation has a “touch of Africa” with its unique natural designs, and
walls covered in bamboo produced by the locals. Our accommodation
is neat and tidy with solid wood vanity and cane baskets to hold your
belongings. There is safe and secure parking right outside your unit.
Our newest rooms are for the young at heart. These rooms boast two
single beds with a small vanity to hold your belongings. Nestled amongst
the bushes is our family unit, which can accommodate two adults (one

double bed) and four children (four single beds). This unit is tucked away from the rest of the camp,
but close to the ablution blocks for your convenience.
We have eight large camping and caravan sites with their own outdoor ablutions, with hot and
cold running water.
THE ELEPHANT WATERHOLE RESTAURANT
The Elephant Waterhole Restaurant is dressed in an African theme and displays the colourful
heritage and culture of the country. Decorated in warm wood tones and an air of space, the Elephant
Waterhole will be loved by the seafood connoisseur. This restaurant welcomes diners to an experience
where the vibrant atmosphere and traditional dishes make for a memorable experience. We offer
fusion cuisine, from traditional lamb shanks to seafood with a tasty selection of salads and vegetables.
Dishes are prepared and cooked using local ingredients, ensuring freshness and ethnic taste.
Conclude the evening sipping a nightcap, listening to the whisk of tall tales under the African sky,
warmed by a roaring open fire in the boma.
THE DIVING EXPERIENCE
The reefs at Sodwana Bay are rated amongst the top five dive sites in the world. With an existence
of around 4 000 years, the reefs are well settled with lots of soft and hard coral, and a wide variety of
tropical fish. This is also where the rediscovery of the prehistoric coelacanth took place.
Diving in Sodwana offers a variety of adventures! With water temperatures averaging 28-30°C, it’s
tropical bliss!
A Day in Africa is not only a dive shop with a training facility, but also an established,
competent and beloved dive charter in Sodwana and Mozambique. We have full lecture and
training facilities. Our training facilities comply with the highest professional standards of PADI,
IANTD and CMAS to ensure that our students are confident and safe divers. We present speciality
courses such as Shark, Nitrox, Oxygen Administration and Wreck. We train divers from beginner to
instructor level. Our workshop will see that your scuba gear gets serviced properly. We organise
dive trips to some of the best dive sites around the world. A Day in Africa Lodge also retails a
variety of scuba gear and diving products. S
