We also specialise in corporate training and safaris. We are strategically positioned to accommodate any dive site in and around South Africa. –– Local dive weekends are available at Sodwana, Mozambique, Protea Banks and Aliwal Shoal. For the more adventurous diver, there is diving with the great whites in the colder waters of the Cape. Packages can be arranged for family members if required. All non-divers accompanying their spouses can be entertained with a game drive close to the dive site. –– We specialise in corporate breakaways and team-building weekends for professionals who need a break from the rush of the corporate world. THE LODGE Want to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life? Join us in our tranquil surroundings in Sodwana Bay. You’ll leave here wishing you could stay. A Day in Africa boasts comfortable accommodation units. Our accommodation has a “touch of Africa” with its unique natural designs, and walls covered in bamboo produced by the locals. Our accommodation is neat and tidy with solid wood vanity and cane baskets to hold your belongings. There is safe and secure parking right outside your unit. Our newest rooms are for the young at heart. These rooms boast two single beds with a small vanity to hold your belongings. Nestled amongst the bushes is our family unit, which can accommodate two adults (one A DAY IN AFRICA | LODGE FOCUS double bed) and four children (four single beds). This unit is tucked away from the rest of the camp, but close to the ablution blocks for your convenience. We have eight large camping and caravan sites with their own outdoor ablutions, with hot and cold running water. THE ELEPHANT WATERHOLE RESTAURANT The Elephant Waterhole Restaurant is dressed in an African theme and displays the colourful heritage and culture of the country. Decorated in warm wood tones and an air of space, the Elephant Waterhole will be loved by the seafood connoisseur. This restaurant welcomes diners to an experience where the vibrant atmosphere and traditional dishes make for a memorable experience. We offer fusion cuisine, from traditional lamb shanks to seafood with a tasty selection of salads and vegetables. Dishes are prepared and cooked using local ingredients, ensuring freshness and ethnic taste. Conclude the evening sipping a nightcap, listening to the whisk of tall tales under the African sky, warmed by a roaring open fire in the boma. THE DIVING EXPERIENCE The reefs at Sodwana Bay are rated amongst the top five dive sites in the world. With an existence of around 4 000 years, the reefs are well settled with lots of soft and hard coral, and a wide variety of tropical fish. This is also where the rediscovery of the prehistoric coelacanth took place. Diving in Sodwana offers a variety of adventures! With water temperatures averaging 28-30°C, it’s tropical bliss! A Day in Africa is not only a dive shop with a training facility, but also an established, competent and beloved dive charter in Sodwana and Mozambique. We have full lecture and training facilities. Our training facilities comply with the highest professional standards of PADI, IANTD and CMAS to ensure that our students are confident and safe divers. We present speciality courses such as Shark, Nitrox, Oxygen Administration and Wreck. We train divers from beginner to instructor level. Our workshop will see that your scuba gear gets serviced properly. We organise dive trips to some of the best dive sites around the world.
